This book follows Reyes’s story, it’s his turn to fall for the love of his life. He didn’t expect it to be someone from his past. Solving a murder throws these two together as well as finding out the secret life of her sister. Plenty of drama, romance and emotions will keep you glued to this story.
Another one bites the dust and finds the one they can’t be without, this one featuring Reyes when he goes back home with Ice to buy plants for the pool at the compound. He runs into Raina, his friend from years ago and his ex fiancee’s, Reana, twin sister. Raina has always been in the shadows of her lively, overwhelming sister and had a crush on Reyes first but as always, her sister stole the spotlight and Reyes. While Reyes is there, Reana is murdered and he is the prime suspect until her life is probed, revealing secrets that even Raina didn’t know. As the investigation continues the two finally have a chance to reveal their true feelings from long ago but first they have to solve the murder before they can begin anew.
A great read with a bit of steam, secrets exposed, suspense and a mystery of whodunit and why. I enjoy these reads by this author as I LOVE the no drama between the couples and no others trying to come between them. I was a bit hesitant on the fact that he was with her twin and now with her, but the past is the past and it should have been them in the first place. I also liked how the author stated that they had to grow and mature and maybe were not ready for each other back then. Now I can’t wait for the next one!

I did enjoy this book even though it was not one of my favorites from the series. My favorite part of this book was that Ice was included. She is one tough cookie that you do not want to cross. But if she is on your side she will defend you. Luckily she is Reye’s boss so can get things done.
I felt sad over the family turmoil the main characters, Reye and Raina had to deal with. This book is more about family dynamics and the problems that everybody has to deal with. But still a good read.

Secrets, lies, and romance. This one has it all. I love how the story shows the differences between twins, it’s a nice change of pace. The characters are strong and complex. This book has a lot going on keeping the pacing fast. There are plenty of twists and surprises along the way. Another great read! I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Yes!
Tragic yet so exciting! This story is crammed full of secrets, deceit and lies, I love it!
Twins don’t always share a close relationship and sometimes there is emotional turmoil between them. Most families have issues they are dealing with and some even have very volatile family members.
This author played out the volatile issues in both Reyes and Raina’s families very well. The focus is on the differences between twins and not the similarities.
I really enjoyed Ice’s presence in this story. She lends Reyes the support he needs to focus on finding the murderer and help Raina deal with everything that is going on.
I would have liked to see Reyes and Raina’s relationship solidify a bit more but maybe their journey isn’t finished yet. They do deserve the HEA they have found together.
This story has all the exciting twists and turns to make it a fabulous mystery as well as the hotness we all love to read about. This is another fantastic book in this series that I couldn’t put down until I finished it!
Excellent job! I loved it!
This is book 17 in the Heroes For Hire series and it features Reyes and Raina. I couldn’t imagine having a mother like Annemarie or Melissa, or a sister like Reana. They are terrible women! Poor Raina. Her boss, her mother AND her sister! It’s a wonder she’s still sane. As horrible as Reana was to everyone, I felt sorry that she couldn’t really be herself for fear of judgment. Something like that really messes with your mind. That’s a sad way to live. I wish we would have seen the bada$$ Navy SEAL come out of Reyes but sadly all we saw was the introvert.
The story line was good and so were the characters. The mystery and suspense were fantastic!

So after 8 years serving as a Navy Seal, Reyes has joined Legendary Securities. Now he is traveling back to his home to visit where his past starts this tale. He has a history in gardening and his family has a large business in San Diego. He and Ice (one of his bosses) are visiting to buy plants for around a new pool at the facility in Texas. However, Reyes also has a ex-fiance (Reana) in San Diego who has put an interesting twist in their breakup years ago. She also manages to get killed. Both she and her twin work for his (Reyes) family’s gardening business. If this hasn’t peaked your interest I’m not sure what will.
I actually read this too quickly to find out what happened. So then I circled back and reread it for pure enjoyment. Great story, nicely done, characters you can relate to and romantic suspense all describe it well. It was nice to meet Ice’s dad and I’m looking forward to Dezi’s story soon.
I absolutely loved this book. The story line was so awesome. It had me cheering on the characters! Loved how you were made to wonder who ‘did-it’ till the very end! Loved how the story was so real to life in showing how people act towards others who have a different lifestyle than what they think they should have. Dale has done an outstanding job in portraying these characters. Loved how all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place at the end and made for an explosive ending! What an awesome book!

Getting it right the second time.
Reyes heads to his home town with Ice to arrange a deal between Legendary Securities and his family’s gardening business. As much as he tries to avoid his ex, Reana, he’s also drawn to her twin sister, Raina, who works at his family’s business. No sooner is he in town than trouble starts, and he’s the only one who can help Raina deal with the unthinkable.
Reyes and Raina are quiet, introspective people so their romance is understated and slow-burning. It was a tender, sweet story to read, despite the horrible circumstances with her family. Getting to know his family at the same time really added depth to both characters. The story is also an intense whodunnit as Reyes and Ice work with the local authorities as well as their own team to solve the mystery. It’s a compelling read with a satisfying HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Wow!! This was such a great read with strong characters and a fast-paced well-crafted drama that kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages faster than ever to see what was going to happen. I loved Reyes Drere, a former Navy SEAL and member of Legendary Security who travels with Ice to San Diego to his family’s garden center to pick out plants for the pool area at their compound in Texas. There is mystery, family drama, loss, raw emotions and so much more as Reyes and Raina’s story unfolds. Ms. Mayer is a master with suspenseful romance and I can hardly wait for book 18 in her must-read Heroes for Hire series.
I received an advance review copy of this book and this is my voluntary review. I liked it so much, I purchased a copy to enjoy again later.
As usual Dale has given us a fantastic story! Reyes’s Raina was loaded with all the good stuff. Murder, intrigue, bad twins, two sets no less! Rediscovered love, which is always awesome! Definitely a worthy read!
This was a good story. Reyes and Raina have so much in common and obviously belong together. There were quite a few surprises and I didn’t know who did it until the end, which is unusual for me.

Wow this is full on from the first page to the end, between a slap and murder there is a whole lot going on. Exciting read with some twists and turns to keep it interesting, an old connection never quite forgotten and family turmoil thrown into the mix. All the names beginning with R do keep you on your toes though, I did find myself ‘re reading bits here and there coz I thought I’d mixed them up. I loved getting some time with Ice, it is always nice to have some of the earlier characters from the series involved a bit in the more recent stories, after all they are what started it all. Another fabulous story to go with all the others, I never get bored with these guys.
Loved “Reyes’s Raina” story in Hero’s for Hire series this story had suspense and romance two thing I love in a book. Reyes and Raina characters are so likeable and kind. Great series.
Murder, suicide, drama, tension and of course romance are all crammed into this well written and exciting story. I loved it and recommend it to you.
This is book 17 in the Heroes for Hire series and can be read as a standalone, there are no cliffhangers and as with all of them end in a HEA. This is a well-written and well thought out story, there is deceit, betrayal, murder and a sweet love.
We follow Reyes as he and his boss Ice return to his hometown and we follow the antics of his ex fiancee and his family, as he’s accused of murder. Can he get the woman he loves, Raina, while clearing his name and solve a heartbreaking murder.
If you enjoy strong military men, a romantic suspenseful plot then you want to read this series. Definitely recommended.

Always a must read for any of Dale Mayer’s Seals series. I am hooked on this series and always enjoy getting to see some of the past characters make appearances in her books. This was another great easy to read. Start the series, you’ll get hooked too. Reyes and Raina hooked me right from the start and I loved Raina’s thought about Reyes being one of the heroes of the world. I read this book pretty much in one sitting.
I was pulled in from the beginning and enjoyed all the twist and turns along the way . It’s a very intriguing and suspenseful story . I really enjoyed reading this story. I love this story and the entire series .

Can these books get any better than this one. As we start book 17 we are introduced to Reyes. It’s been 2 years since he has been home. 2 years since he caught his fiancé in bed with someone else. When Ice calls and needs something she wants it now. As he is dealing with the flowers at his parents floristry. When his ex turns up dead he is the prime suspect and it’s down to him and Reina to solve who murdered Reana. Will they find the killer in then end? Will they get their HEA? A great set of characters. Loved Reyes and Raina and the story held my attention from the moment I started my book
Reyes, a member of Legendary Security (also known as Heroes for Hire) returns home with his boss Ice to his family’s nursery to select plants for the compound. Within minutes of arriving at the nursery his past appears with a bang. Tragedy takes place in many forms. Both Reyes and Raina step up and protect, rediscovering the chemistry they saw only in glimpses during their younger days.
I found myself wanting to reach through the pages to slap some sense into the drama queens and to some very special people. A well written tale with wonderful characters. This is a standalone book but the series makes each book even better. Many of the characters have multiple appearances within the series.
