Spanning 300 years, this beautiful love story with a science fiction undertone, moved me from start to finish. The main characters, William and Diane are top scientist that usually live 140 years apart, but they have been brought together, tasked to build a time machine that can take them to the future to prevent an ecological disaster that may just end everything. You will feel the tension as they race against time, carrying such a heavy burden on their shoulders. Throughout all the stress and responsibility they still fall in love. What implications to their task and each other will this love have? You will have to read the superb Reversione to find out. I certainly hope that Chris Jones, has a sequel in the works.
Mixing romance fiction with science fiction may seem a but strange, but this genre-blending novel worked really well. Reversione by Chris A. Jones follows the work of two couples – Diane and William, and Delores and Robert – who have converged from different time periods to build a time travel device that will prevent a global disaster that occurs in the 24th century. Is the love between Diane and William strong enough to save each other and the world itself? Or will they fail in their work and fail each other.
With Reversione, Jones has taken a unique plot and filled it with empathetic characters and thrilling twists and turns. If you love time travel novels or movies, this is the book for you. A five star read.
This is a pretty great culmination of genres with a writing style that somehow manages to pull it all off. Something things can get pretty convoluted when an author has ideas that their talent isn’t quite sharp enough to pull off, but Jones manages to do it here in a convincing and intriguing way. There are detailed descriptions of the different time zones that helped me keep a grounding on events, and the characters were different enough and well-written to keep a draw on continuing from chapter to chapter without a break. I haven’t read a whole lot of books like this, but perhaps that is because there aren’t many out there. Either way it’s a very good read.
If you could change the past to change the future, would you? And should you? These are two questions that I really pondered on, after reading ‘Reversion’ by Chris A. Jones. The fact that this Sci-Fi novel made me ask questions, was something I really loved about it. The plot has our scientist protagonists desperately trying to build a time machine, to avert a future disaster that could end all of mankind. Two of the scientist Diane and William fall madly and love, which added a really charming romance element to this science fiction.
‘Reversione’ was beautifully written, with empathetic characters and a really fascinating plot. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and I will definitely be reading it again in the future as I bet there is more to discover the second and third time around.
