I’m really at a loss for words after finishing this second book. It ends on a tiny cliffhanger and after all the emotions you feel when reading, being connected with the characters you care for, it’s hard to wait for the next one as I just want to know how the story goes. I know I’m always impatient when I learn that it’s a series and you have to wait until the next book comes out. I seriously cannot wait and hopefully the ones I want to win…. win 🙂
Both Emery and Kade have survived the latest attack but are trying to regroup after some betrayals happened that they didn’t see coming. With Emery still learning the new powers she seems to be getting and the Convergence being within her, she’s developing and growing into her own. Strengths she never knew she had, get stronger every single day. And with Kade by her side, they are the strongest in the house. But when another hit happens, it’ll take everything they have known into a world that may not survive… And the light will have to fight the dark once again if they want to make it out alive and Emery will have to make a choice that may end up destroying everyone in the process…
All the stars for this wonderful book. Chrysalis is the first book in this series and must be read before Reverence in my opinion, so that you have the background knowledge of the characters and storyline.
I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in Chrysalis and loved reading and learning more about them as I turned the pages of Reverence. Emery is one strong and incredible lady. She has found her life to be something that she could never have imagined. The weight on her shoulders of her role in this existence is immense, yet she with the help of her incredible support network she embraces what she needs to do and gives her all, even when facing grave danger!
There was lots of development of the story in this book and having more of a connection with the characters meant I was definitely feeling all the emotions. The twists and turns in the story will keep you intrigued and captivated as you will want to know what happens next. Talking about what happens next – yes there is a third book and I can not wait to read it!!
I can recommend this series to you without a second thought. I’m certain you will enjoy it as much as I do.
OH MY LORD HAVE MERCY this story picked up right where Chrysalis left off. Emery knows who she is and what she needs to do beat the darkness that is all she has to do but she knows that will not be an easy fight to do and she knows it is going to take everything in her power to do this.
She knows she is going to have to fight for Kade as well as Kade will have to fight for her. Everything she thought was true is not and now she knows she is going to have to dig down deep and change everything she thought was true. Just as she thought the darkness was her enemy she is finding it is actually going to be her saving grace.
I can’t wait to read the next book because there was so much that was left without answers that I need to know what is going to happen!
I have been eagerly awaiting this book since finishing Chrysalis and Reverence has lived up to every hope I had for it. Maria catapults you back into the lives of Emery and Kade and has you on a roller coaster of emotions. The characters in this book grow in depth and you feel connected to them on whole new level. Emery and Kade’s lives step up a gear (or three!) and they suck you in so that it feels as though you are part of the story, at one point I’m sure my heart was beating just as fast as Emery’s! The world Maria has created in Chrysalis and Reverence is so detailed and complex that you can tell everything is thought out and each detail put into play for a reason. I can’t wait to see where the story goes, bring on book 3!
