Lauren and brendans story.
A great ending love it so much.
I love this author’s books and can’t wait to read more.
I was so excited when this book was released because it is the second book of Brendan and Lauren’s story. In Overtone we were left wondering what would happen next for these two because they had fallen for each other but refused to tell the other. So this picks up later and they both have tried to stay in contact with each other but their so called friendship/relationship is strained so Brendan makes it a point to go after Lauren once and for all. He doesn’t care if they have to fight for a relationship because of distance he just wants Lauren in his life. There is a lot of angst and drama but it is so good and Brendan had me laughing at his antics. Very good read.
Brendan and Lauren are one of my favorite couples in this series! This book was very emotional throughout the whole book, I cried at every turn!
What will happen to Brendan and Lauren will their work out the way they want it too or will the tabloids, his mother or even the Professor bring the end to it all?
Lauren and Brendan had rules in place for a reason. Their futures are already planned out for them. They were left heartbroken and unfixable. We continue their journey in the music world and how to survive a long-distance relationship. You feel their turmoil and the obstacles they face. This author not only gives you a story with words, she creates characters that have you learning their craft and craving more. Another great story in this series.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
After reading Overtones, the sixth book in Jerica MacMillan’s Songs and Sonatas series and falling in love with the beginning of Brendan and Lauren’s story, I just had to see the culmination of all of their passion and angst and see what comes of these two. It wasn’t long and Jerica once again had me tied up in knots waiting for these two to finally follow their hearts and instead of their heads. I loved reading Reverb and experiencing once again the level of heat and heart of Lauren and Brendan.
Lauren always came across as being a fly by the seat of your pants type of woman until I got in her head and realized that she is just as cautious about love as the rest of us. At the beginning of Reverb Lauren’s walls around her heart have been reinforced and I couldn’t wait to see Brendan make them crumble once and for all. Lauren has become a favorite heroine of mine in this series and I was beyond ecstatic for her to find love with one of the hot as hell Brasher brothers.
Brendan has won my heart over from the beginning of his and Lauren’s road trip in Overtones and has managed to make it even more his through the remainder of his story. I adore the strong and silent type and Brendan has it in spades. He knows how to charm his way into any woman’s heart which is a good thing since Lauren’s heart is built like a fortress. Luckily Brendan knows all the tricks that a hero needs to conquer loving a strong willed heroine.
Jerica MacMillan delivers another scorching, heart stopping read that is sure to win over all her fan’s hearts. I highly recommend Brendan and Lauren’s story in Overtones and Reverb for a “hold on to your panties and heart” type of read. Jerica never fails to amaze me with her characters and stories and keep me hanging onto her every word and always coming back for more.
I was eager to read the conclusion of Lauren and Brendan’s story, and Jerica MacMillan didn’t disappoint with this story full of love, insecurities and friendship.
Lauren and Brendan parted ways in NY, having agreed that it would be a clean break, but the attraction and feelings that emerged during the trip didn’t end with the farewell, on the contrary, with the passage of time, both realized that the separation wasn’t easy .
When Brendan shows up at Lauren’s door after a few months, she’s afraid to open her heart again and suffer, but they are committed to trying to make the relationship work despite the distance.
The roller coaster of feelings that happen and the surprises along the way only shows that their love is very strong, but when external events threaten their relationship, will they be able to overcome and be together, or will it separate them forever?
I loved the story and to be able to see again the characters from the other books.
I highly recommend the reading.
Jerica MacMillan’s Reverb (Songs and Sonatas Book 7) is the second half of Lauren and Brendan’s story, which started off in Overtones, the prior book in this series (which I separately reviewed). While I think it’s possible to (more or less) figure things out and really enjoy this book, it really is designed to be read after part 1 of the tale. And what a wonderful tale it is indeed. A great romance with frankly perfectly crafted character and a 2-book story arc that works superbly. This was a fun, sexy, romantic tale that was a total pleasure to read. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
An excellent conclusion to Lauren and Brendan’s story! There was an unexpected twist that made this even more fun! I’m looking forward to keeping tabs on these two during Colt’s love story. I love Jerica’s writing, she is by far, one of my favorite authors!!

Main Characters: Brendan and Lauren
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
This is book seven in the Songs and Sonatas series and the background for each story is music. We first really get into Lauren and Brendan in book six Overtones. This is their conclusion. After their road trip and Lauren’s plane ride home, they made a deal to treat this as a fling and to leave it at that but we know some deals are just made to be broken. Instead, the two of them try for a long distance relationship. Some angst in this story and plenty of chemistry and sex. I recommend reading the complete seven book series.
This is the conclusion to Lauren and Brendan’s story which started in Overtones. Jerica Macmillan hit the nail on the head with this one. All the ups and downs keep you on an emotional rollercoaster, but boy is it worth it! A definite read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Making a long distance relationship work
This is a wonderful conclusion to our story of Brendan and Lauren. They are trying to do the long distance relationship work. They are impulse but realize that they can make this work with a lot of work but when others try and get between them they don’t let it happen because they know that being together is what they want more than anything. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I love Brendan so much. Yes he made some mistakes but at least he was trying to make things right with Lauren. I have to say I was not a fan of Lauren in this book. There were so many times I wanted to smack her and yell at her to get out of her head.
4.5 Serendipity stars
A perfect conclusion to Branden and Lauren. Long distance romance is never easy but with hard work, support and dedication it can be done. This was a bumpy road with a few hiccups, moments of doubt, and a lot of spontaneity. There were moments that I wanted to strangle both of these characters but those moments quickly ebbed.
It is hard to believe that this is book seven in the series. It feels like just yesterday that I discovered this amazing author. I highly recommend this series. It has an amazing cast of lovable characters, has music as a backdrop (who doesn’t love music?!), and heartfelt stories that make you feel all the emotions.
Looking forward to Colt!
What a wonderful conclusion to Brendan and Lauren’s love story!
Brendan and Lauren decided to make a long distance relationship work. It was hard but they knew it was worth it. There were people that tried to come between them, but they didn’t let them get away with it!
I love the Songs and Sonatas series! Each book is a joy to read! I’m so glad I found Jerica’s fantastic books!
I look forward to getting to read Colts story! It can’t get here fast enough!
OMG – I love Brendan and Lauren!!! I could not wait for this book. After reading the first part and knowing the chemistry that these two had, it was so sad when they decided to have a fling and that there would be no contact after going back home. After a few months with somewhat contact, misunderstandings, heartache and more Brendan’s brothers take him to crash Lauren girl’s night claiming Jonathan wanted to see Gabby. This is his moment to finally get Lauren to talk and make a new decision on their relationship. Reverb takes you on another crazy time with Lauren and Brendan trying to make school, work, long distance and obstacles not get in the way of their forever. I loved these two so much as well as all their family and friends and can’t wait for Colt’s story. Let’s just say Jerica – keep the stories coming!!!
Reverb is book seven in the Songs and Sonatas series. Before you read this one, you need to read Overtones first. This one picks up after where Overtones left off. In Overtones, Lauren and Branden went on a road trip and they were talking about stopping in Vegas on the way back and I was so hoping that they would get married in Vegas on the way back. Well no Vegas wedding happened in that book so starting this one I was still hoping for that Vegas wedding. This story doesn’t start well for Branden and Lauren. They haven’t seen each other in months but the connection is still there. They decide to give a relationship a shot but it’s a long distance relationship and I wasn’t really feeling that they had totally connected. At around 35% Branden has some time off and ask Lauren to go to Vegas with him. Ok so yeah, I have been wanting them to go to Vegas since it was mentioned in the first book but at this point, I was like oh no they aren’t ready for Vegas. I just wasn’t feeling the love that I wanted to from them but the airport reunion kind of changed my mind on that. In Vegas Branden and Lauren are the easy going characters I grew to love in Overtones. Their connection, chemistry, and flow was just perfect once they got to Vegas. Ok so after Vegas, life gets rocky for them but there love is still strong. As they battled the ups and downs I was so rooting for them and hoping that they get the happy they deserved.
Months after separating at JFK airport, both Lauren and Brendan are missing each other but they are trying to stick to their deal that the fling was over after they left NYC. Brendan can’t get over Lauren so his brothers dragged him to her house with the pretense that Jonathan wanted to see Gabby and crash their girl’s night. Once Lauren and Brendan gets a chance to talk to each other face to face, they finally admit that they have feelings for each other but Lauren is hesitant to get into a long distance relationship. They decide that their feelings for each other is strong enough to give it a try. And of course with Lauren and Brendan, you know they are impulsive and do crazy things, which they did end up doing. But Lauren has doubts about how their relationship will work and when outside forces casts more doubts for her to consider, she caves in to it because she didn’t want to “hurt” Brendan. Brendan gives it one last shot to convince that their love is strong enough to overcome anything and he is making a change that will make things easier.
This is such a fun and crazy story about two young lovers who is trying to start their lives but are face with difficult obstacles that they must overcome to make their love work. I am enjoying this series with the different characters that were introduced in the first 2 books.
Jerica does an excellent job of telling this story. Lots of love, laughter and even heartache.
