Their relationship changes again when Celia learns the devil takes care of his own. Edward Fasbender is my savior. From the ashes of who I once was, he is helping me to rise. He has a list of people who have wronged him. And now he’s adding names to that list. Names that I gave him. And we will have our revenge. Revenge is the third book in the Slay Quartet.
Edward and Celia are back!
I swear, I’m so torn when it comes to Edward. I don’t know whether to love him or loathe him, and truthfully it’s a little of both AND it depends on the moment which one takes precedence. This man is dominant, alpha, and unyielding. He’s used to getting his way and won’t hesitate to steamroll you to get what he wants. He’s definitely not a nice guy….most of the time. But there’s this other side to him that keeps hitting you right in the feels and makes you fall harder for him with each glimpse into his softer side. This man is nothing short of complicated.
I still find myself wanting to dislike Celia , but I simply can’t. She’s grown, changed, and adapted so much over the course of this saga. She’s almost unrecognizable. Do I love her? I wouldn’t go that far…yet, but I have a feeling I’ll be completely converted by the end of this saga. She’s the perfect blend of submissive yet defiant, and she doesn’t make things easy on Edward. The result is a push and pull of epic proportions.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of starting this series yet, I highly recommend you do! Things just keep getting better and better! These two can go from likable to unlikable and back again in the blink of an eye. There’s so much going on in their lives that there’s never a full moment. Secrets and truths are uncovered, but there’s still so much more hiding beneath the surface. Only one more installment until (hopefully) all will be revealed. This is a must-read series!
Edward and Celia’s story continues in a big way in Revenge. The goals have changed even as they stayed the same. Edward is all alpha in his quest for righting wrongs and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to learn what would happen next.
I love this world that Laurelin has created…and by the way, sorry Celia, Edward is mine!
Another wonderful installment into this series. (You will need to read the previous two books to fully understand this book.) Now that Edward and Celia have their relationship sorted out, it’s time for revenge. Edward has so much invested in his revenge schemes, but are they for himself or for Celia’s best. As he grew closer to Celia, his intentions have changed. Oh, he still wants people to pay for the things they have done, but will Celia agree? While their relationship is on a more steady ground than it had been in the past (see previous books,) there is still so much more to learn from one another. These characters are brilliant, smart, strong. The powerful one needs to show some willingness to give and not just take, and the ‘weaker’ one needs to display their power a little more often, and stand their ground. There are some suspenseful moments. We learn a little more about the characters and their pasts. While this is a sexy read, and the sexual content is spread throughout, it’s almost as though it were running in the back ground. Not as often at the forefront of the scene… but the desire and arousal is there along with the intention. It alternates POVs. It’s a wonderfully written and plotted story. While it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, per se, it’s not the complete story and it does end with a little twist.
*I received an ARC of this book.
Revenge never tasted so sweet! Again, I am floored at the poetically written brilliance that Paige offers in Revenge Slay Quartet 3.
Intrigued by the depth of the plot, and the heartbreak that has been revealed, helping readers better understand each character’s motives, makes this story purely spellbinding.
This story becomes more than just that about love. It is a story about vindication and healing.
I truly thought Paige’s work could not be out done from that in Slay Quartets 1 and 2, but she has “Slayed” it with this!
She has written an extraordinary story that will only leave you wanting for more!
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Revenge (Slay Book 3)
After reading each book in Laurelin Paige’s Slay series I feel like I need therapy. Now that I have finished Revenge, I need to rethink and re-evaluate The Devil and the Lady and what is to come in Book 4.
Celia is back in London, living with Edward and she loves him! I will give him that he did the right thing, by replacing those terrible awful memories of the things done to her, the abuses that made her into what she once was. Edward, along with her therapy have remade Celia into the stronger person she is now, but will Edward’s need for Revenge hurt Celia yet again or help give her the closer she needs on that part of her life.
Will he stop pushing her when it comes to “A” and who he is and can Celia continue to protect Hudson. Celia at least knows that Hudson is not the true reason she joined him in his gaming and she knows she was the one that kept it up and eventually she played just satisfy her need. I don’t know that I would want to see these two men go up against each other. If they do what the heck kind of explosion are we in for?
So now we have The Devil out not just for his revenge but on her behalf as well and if he gets his revenge, will The Devil end the game or will The Lady have to make a move that could hurt them both?
Well…Laurelin did it! She made me love someone I hated with a passion. Phenomenal! This book has it all! Angst, steam, all the feels and more angst! I devoured it. Could not stop reading as soon as this one hit my kindle. I don’t want to spoil anything so I am just going to leave it like this…read this series. Fall in love with an anti-heroine and the alpha of all alphas. You won’t regret it! Now I need more! Waiting on the final book is going to be killer!
This story just gets more and more interesting.
The reader gets to dive more and more into the psyche of both Celia and Edward. The way that Ms. Paige writes brings the reader into their world is amazing and feels so genuine. The atrocities and damage that has been done to Celia, the need for vengeance and revenge for Edward burn up the pages and I couldn’t put it down until the end.
This brings Celia’s past to the forefront, I continue to empathize with her and how she is evolving into a more relatable character. I continued to understand why she was so cold and calculating and how Edward had to break her down to help her build herself back up again. I also admired how even though all that she still has steel in her spine and isn’t afraid to fight back for what she truly believes in.
Edward continues to be a man you almost hate to love, but he continues to surprise me and I am seeing some real redeemable qualities to him. He truly wants Celia to come around to his way of thinking concerning his need for revenge.
This third book was amazing and the ending!!! Oh my me, I cannot wait until May!
OMG I don’t even know where to begin, my heart, my head and my emotions are scattered into the wind!! My expectations have been so hugely surpassed i’m lost !! Laurelin Paige has yet again sent me into a spiral and changed my outlook vastly on the characters in this book!!
The first two books had my heart and mind going in one direction, I didn’t like Celia, I didn’t want to like Celia, yet her now husband Edward continues to open her up, show us sides we never knew could even exist within this woman and horrors you could never have imagined she could have endured. He’s also given me huge doubts on his own character, this man is so focused on revenge i doubted there would be any moral line he wouldn’t cross. Nor anyone he wouldn’t mow down who got in his way, yet i strangely found my self swooning !!!!
In this book we get to the man, Edward himself and forget the swooning, i was in a freaking puddle !!!
Oh how my heart is changed and i LOVE him and Celia as a couple, Celia not only finds peace in her submission to him, she also finds a back bone!! Edward is now focused not only on his own revenge but mostly he’s determined to destroy everyone and everyone who ever mistreated Celia !! Hold on tight folks!!! I swear i spent most of this book with my heart thumping out of my chest !!! Their love is at times frightening, Edward has no boundaries !! I really did feel fear at times, either of them could crack at any moment !! Absolutely Fantastic read, where you can’t even predict what is going to come next, fantastic writing, spellbinding brilliance and of course we don’t just get a cliffhanger, we are left dangling half way down the freakin cliff yelling OMG MORE NOW!!!
This book got very gritty. With Edward pulling more and more from Celia’s past and making it his mission to make everyone who wronged her pay for what they did, he embarks on a sting operation to bring Celia’s Uncle down. She deserves justice and her father needs a stiff kick in the dick if I’m being quite honest. This book was well written, like every book in this series so far. I have a love for both Celia and Edward even their deviant sides have love from me.
I wish that I would have written my review for Revenge (Slay Quartet #3) right after I finished reading it. It deserves the words from the adrenaline rush that I experienced throughout my read. There has been some time between book #2 and #3 but I was able to connect with the characters as if I had just read the second book in the series yesterday. Edward Fasbender and Celia are strong characters that grabbed onto me as a reader. I have this love-hate relationship with Edward, he makes me question my sanity, and my feelings for Edward cause whiplash. I wasn’t sure how I felt about his need for control but I knew there was something about him when I felt a surge of jealousy and it wasn’t even for me … it was for Celia, I wanted to protect her.
Laurelin Paige dives deep with Celia’s disturbing past and Edwards’s need for revenge. I was left on the edge of my seat by the end of the book. This is one rollercoaster of a series that leaves you wanting more.
I’m outrageously addicted to Shane East as he narrates this story. Edward and Celia have me obsessed with their story and after concluding Revenge and I can’t wait to dive into Rising!!!
Boundaries and retribution fill these pages. Celia is the woman I loved to hate. But Revenge has me loving to love (yes that sounds about right) Celia. And Edward? He’s another story. He’s very charming and drips sex and authority, but I want to smack him and hurt him where it hurts the most…his heart. He’s very unforgiving and he’s going to risk what humanizes him most all for the revenge he thinks she needs but more so what has driven him since his youth. Is it worth it?
I have to give this five glorious, devious, manipulative, justice-driven, addicting, British accented !
Every book in this series just gets better and better. Edward and Celia are perfect together. I love how much their relationship has grown. Watching as Edward gets revenge on those who have hurt Celia has been a long time coming, and he is merciless. With that being said, the ending of this story, which is a cliffhanger, made me want to punch Edward in the face, and cheer Celia has she stands her ground. I can not wait to see how the bombshell confession changes their story, and what will happen next.
This series…OMG. You have GOT to read it. If you like drama, suspense, dark and dastardly but oh so sweet. This series is made up of complex characters that bring SO much to the table. It’s been a fantastic series and about all I can tell you is how much I’ve loved it. How amazing and deep the story line is. How phenomenal these characters are with all of their flaws, their drama, their needs.
Laurelin Paige has created a series that has been remarkable and edge of your seat. It would make a phenomenal movie! Can’t wait for the last book in this quartet. It can’t come soon enough.
I’m not going to lie, I absolutely hated Celia in the Fixed series. I struggled with the idea of even reading the Slay Quartet because I disliked her that much. But with each book in the quartet I thank myself for reading. Edward and Celia have me hooked almost as much as Hudson and Alyana did.
I will say I struggled with Revenge more than the other two books. It took me a little longer to get into this one, but once I did I was hooked. Paige takes these characters to places I didn’t see coming. I’m also glad that Celia ends up with a man like Edward. Celia needs a man who is her equal. She needs to be challenged, and Edward does that more than you could imagine. He made me hate him and love him all rolled into one. Their relationship is super messed up but had me on the edge of my seat.
I love that we got more of Edward in Revenge. His mind is just wow! It really makes you question everything about him. Revenge is all Edward is after in this book, and I almost felt sorry for Celia. I questioned whether he cared if he hurt Celia in his process to get revenge on her uncle.
I need Rising more than I thought I would! I’m addicted to Edward and Celia and need more of their twisted love!
Every time I’ve done reading the books in this series, I can’t help but need the next one. This series has been intriguing as hell! An absolute page turner! This is what I’ve been waiting for, never thought I’d fall in love with Edward ever since the first book. But damn, I’m definitely loving him! I can’t wait for the finale now!
Oh, Laurelin Paige, what are you trying to do to me? I have sat here for almost a week trying to put into words what this book has done to me, what this series is doing to me. I am completely consumed by it.
I’m not sure how to begin. I will start by saying that Celia and Edward’s story is like none other. It took hold of me from book one and it continues to hold on. The way the author has brought these two to life. The pain, the history and everything they go through and have been through… It’s captivating and addictive, I was on the edge of my seat the entire way through.
These two are meant for one another, it’s been made apparent earlier on and the deeper the plot gets the more that becomes visible. The way the author had writing these two personalities and developed them throughout books one to three has truly shaped the way this story has gone and it has gone in ways I didn’t expect. I have been left with my jaw hitting the floor in shock multiple times.
The chemistry between the two was off the charts and as always the author delivers the heat. Ms. Paige never misses a beat.
This was full of passion, suspense, mystery, heat and an undeniable love story shared between two people. I can’t wait to see where this author comes next. I’m completely hooked!
This is worthy of so much more than 5 Stars!
** spoiler alert ** In Book 3, the Damaged intensely, powerful, dominant, strong-willed sexy alpha Edward Fasbender, CEO of Accelecom, continues his quest to destroy everyone who was involved in the demise of his families empire. Though the path of his destruction part of his plan was to marry Celia Werner so he could take over Werner Media. Problem was along the way he never expected to fall for his damaged beautiful “bird”.
“You belong here, bird. You don’t have to do anything to belong because this is your home, and you are my wife, and you are mine. That’s all you have to be for now.” I f—ing love you so much that I can’t separate myself from you anymore Celia.”
While Edward was hoping to have Celia join him in the planning of the ultimate “REVENGE” on the person who was responsible for Celia’s traumatized childhood. It wasn’t until she learned that they were still conducting those meetings all the while she believed she was the only one that she agreed to join his quest.
The chemistry of these two characters astonish me the give and take between them. “You like me to fight you because it turns you on, or whatever, but you still expect to always win. I’m only supposed to think I have a chance at getting what I want. Eventually, I’m going to realize its’s futile.”
I keep falling for these two damaged characters. Celia desperately wants acceptance from his sister because she does love her brother and the one thing to complete them would be to have a child of their own only problem is Edward doesn’t want one or does he. He would do anything for his “bird” including murder. It is not until Edward leaves for the “final closure” of her childhood does she really begin to know the depths of what he would do for her. She leaves and returns to the states but when he comes after her does he get the unexpected.
What a cliffhanger! Can’t wait for Slay Quartet #4 -Rising
So many emotions, so much angst with this book! Laurelin delivers a gut punch that will leave you in knots. I had so much hope for Edward after book 2 and even though he seems to really want to give his marriage a shot, he drives me a bit batty. He can be really hot and the cold with Celia and it’s hard to tell his intentions at times. I love how she stands up to him and doesn’t let him totally dominate her. There are still so many secrets that I am honestly not sure how their marriage will sustain the hits to come. I am on the edge of my seat and can’t wait for the conclusion!
Book three in the Slay Quartet shows Celia and Edward come together as a a couple and start to find their way. As Celia immerses herself into Edward’s world, he continues to unerringly give her what he believes she needs. As his plans for revenge are forced to shift in light of Celia’s revelations, will he remain committed to his new plans at the potential cost to his relationship? In this installment we also get to know Edward and have a glance at his past and his relationship with Marion. I loved having that insight and the repercussions for Edward and Celia’s budding relationship. As Celia grows into her own and starts to better understand her own needs, we get to see her fight for what she wants and stand up for herself. The ending is once again quite explosive and I’m waiting for the final book with bated breath!
Laurelin Paige does not disappoint once again in the 3rd Instalment in the Slay Series.
I love Edward Fasbender and are so pleased LP gave Celia another chance to show us why she is the way she is, then to meet a man who knows her hidden secrets and wants to seek revenge and protect her from her past demons.
Be ready for a long night as once again when you pick up a LP book, you don’t put it down again until that last page and if its a Cliffhanger, G@d help you lol
A man with Principals and a woman that also helps to free his dark heart.
