I loved this book. A fabulous addition to the Revenge series, yet it also works so well as a standalone. Of course, I love me some Scottish Highlanders, give me a man in a kilt any day. The story is well defined and well written. There is mystery, hot romance, intrigue, bad boys, and lovely twists that keep you guessing. The emotion draws the reader into the story and at times you just want to smack a few heads together. I so wanted to put a sword thru the old Laird of Glencairn. You know a book is good when it takes the reader places and engages a their emotions. Don’t miss this book.

Eileen MacAlister was 18 year’s old and her half-brother Canton was forcing her to marry. Had, in fact, already sworn an oath. He is forcing her to marry Lord Glencairn – who had to be sixty!
On her wedding night she found out the true horrendous reason for her marriage. Her half-brother has sold her! Canton received a fortune to refill the McKenna coffers and Lord Gordon expected her to birth a child to displace his heir and son Gallagher.
When the bedside candle was relit and Lord Gordon went to leave Eileen realized an even worse horror. It had not been her husband who had taken her maidenhead. That man had been much heavier. She vowed she could make them all pay.
She would not only rule Clan Glencairn but also Clan MacAlister. Her brother, Morgan, would pay for leaving her at the hands of these monsters.
Jamie Glencairn was the nephew of the previous laird and he would do everything in his power to help her in her quest against Canton. His uncle had much to answer for in his treatment of Eileen before his death and Jamie hated the part he had played in his uncle’s plans, but with threats against his mother he had had no choice. Now he had to make things right.
It’s been eight years, but Morgan MacAlister was back to claim his birthright with Kat at his side.
Looking at the castle on the cliff, Morg was proud to see that Castle McKenna was still a sight to behold.
Gallagher was now back home in Scotland to help his friend Morg take back his inheritance after serving aboard the Nemesis under JacquesLaSalle where he grew from a boy to a man. His own home was just a few miles past Castle McKenna and he was glad to be back home in Scotland.
When Morg sees that the castle is under attack with flying colors of Clan Glencairn he orders launch boats to be dropped from the three ships anchored in the loch. Eileen had no problem deposing Canton, but was shocked to see her brother, Morgan, had finally returned home to claim his right.
I loved this book. This story is full of intrigue and betrayal. My heart breaks for the what Eileen had to suffer through. And she may have had a forgiving heart I was appalled to find out who had raped her.
I loved Gallagher and Eileen together and his determination to heal her and get rid of her nightmares.
This book is full of action and the storyline takes us through both Morg and Gallagher regaining their birthright. This story is told in multiple POVs and even though Morg has come for his revenge Gallagher and Eileen are the main focus of the story.
Brandy Golden’s characters are full of life and the book is very well written and the descriptions bring everything to life for me. I highly recommend this book!
