She’s my fated mate… I’m her worst nightmareARJUNNaya is the woman I sprang from captivity. Amber eyes.Thick golden hair that I want to wrap around my hand. Her scent, musky and sugary that makes my breath catch. She is too innocent for everything I want to do to her.So much of a survivor that I want to break her.I wanted to use her body, I hadn’t planned on this compulsive need to claim her.…
I hadn’t planned on this compulsive need to claim her.
Definitely didn’t anticipate that she’d bring out the human side of me.
She will not submit to me.
How can I resist the challenge?
She wants to tame me.
But I have other plans…

Strange Sensations, Purring…..
The youngest of all the ascendants Arjun suffered the most, at age 8 he saw his family taken from him while the Dark Fae Igor took him and turned him into the monster he is….His brothers thought him dead and he thought they forgot him. With nothing to live for all he lives for is revenge against the monster that took his life from him even his voice. Until he feels the soul in the cell next to him, he draws peace from her and unknown to him she does from him. Will Naya be what draws a voice from him after so many years.
Will he finally get his revenge, or will he perish trying…..What is most important living at long last, or perishing because of revenge?
God I love every single one of these stories in the Dragon Protectors series.
Really loved the story. Poor Arjun to have suffered for so many years. Then to have found his salvation in the strength of his cell mate Naya. Loved his growth and change in the story. She brought out the light in him that was drowning in darkness because of the fae lord. Naya was captured and tortured as well. And she drew on his strength and possession. They did their mating dance of push and pull but essentially they built each other up. They would always come for one another and have each other’s back. Very steamy scenes when they get together. A little BDSM in how dominant Arjun is toward Naya. Needing her submission. But she needs to be possessed by him to feel safe after all she and he had been through. It was a trust like no other. Loved the story. Still hoping we get a Caleb and Indira story or a least a tidbit of insight to their happing ending. And now I am hoping for a Logan and Amara story too. Maybe like an extra epilogue. All the other ascendants have a mate now that Arjun is with Naya. Kris and Tara, Mikhail and Leanna, Aaron and hope, just need Logan. And def need Calebs story.
Arjun and Naya. Two characters who have suffered and need each other but each is afraid to hurt the other. Whew the chemistry. Practically sets the pages on fire. These two are amazing together and even though they are “broken”, together they can thrive. While this is a stand-alone, I truly think you’ll enjoy this story more if you read them all in sequence. Great characters and an easy fast paced read. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Maya and Arjun are damaged souls, who are drawn to each other. They are attracted to each other, but must deal with their insecurities and doubts. I like how they work to face the challenges of their inner demons, and together fight the evil far lotd who tortured them. This is a good story in this series.
Naya and Arjun were two broken souls who had been tormented and spent their lives in captivity. Fated to find their strength in each other and to be together. The detailed narrations and descriptions with the strong emotions in the story created an atmosphere that made me feel with the protagonists, specially, with Arjun’s insight. Liked his inner struggling and the intensity of his feelings. Good paced story with suspense, intriguing situations, a dark enemy, violence, romance and passion. And the intriguing and elusive vampire, Vance, kept me guessing. How good that his story is next!
You can’t escape your past. Nor can you see your future set in stone.
You only have the present. And what you do is your choice.
So let your instincts kick in and lead you forward. The way Arjun and Naya let their own subconscious pull them together in a clashing fight of emotions, personalities, and deep feelings.
Being hostage to the Dark Fae Lord, Arjun and Naya have shared the same space for longer than they realized, living in the adjacent cells and eventually tuning in to each other’s presence without giving it a second thought. Now that the possibility to escape emerged, they break out of hell, only to be sucked into a vortex of contradictory feelings pushing them back and forth and engaging the couple in a fiery mating dance.
Danger, deep attraction, and fierce urge to protect weave through the story, with a very unique couple of main characters – Arjun is mute by choice, using only the primal sound of purring to communicate to his chosen one, and Naya is able to understand and get in sync with her male. Together, they could overcome anything, only they have to find the way to each other and accept the inevitable. Intense emotional read, raw and hot, awaking all senses of the reader and bringing up the heat level with each chapter. The characters bare their souls and complexity to us with straightforwardness that calls for connection, and I couldn’t stop reading the story until it got its conclusion.
An emotionally, intense read of 2 people who had been kidnapped, held hostage and tortured that could feel the other next door. He escapes and comes back for her unaware that this had been allowed. Working their way to falling in love and GUESS who shows up…read this book to follow Arjun and Kaya and their love story.
Laxmi Hariharan has done it again!
You can feel the tension sizzling off the page between Arjun and Naya!
They are both amazing characters that have their own issues that they have to overcome.
The story is beautifully written with wonderful world building and lots of twists that keep you guessing.
A brilliant fantasy book in a world where anything can happen…. And it does.
I can’t wait for the next book, the big finale…..
I loved the story of Arjun and Naya. While they were both held captive by Igor, a Fae Lord, they thought they were alone. When Arjun gets free he goes after the one person he felt behind the wall. Arjun and Naya go back to Bombay to find family there but they still feel separate and afraid for each other. They struggle and fight their bond but when they are taken by Igor again they come together to fight the common enemy. I cannot wait to read the next book.
