In this romantic adventure, anything is paws-ible when a single shop owner makes a connection with her new vet. Boutique owner Sophie Daniels certainly isn’t looking to adopt a dog the day veterinarian Chase Lewis convinces her to take in Comet. A rambunctious puppy with a broken leg may not be the best choice for a first-time pet owner. And house calls from the handsome doctor — her high … And house calls from the handsome doctor — her high school sweetheart who’s just moved back to Sweetwater Springs — may not be the best choice for her heart either.
Chase has come home to help his nephew but finds that he’s forgotten just how much he enjoys small-town life. However, sooner or later, he’s going to have to face the past and his unresolved feelings for Sophie. Now that Comet needs both their help, Chase is going to let the four-legged matchmaker work his canine magic. Then Chase will prove to Sophie that first love is even better the second time around.
Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Lavender Hill!
What a wonderful second chance story for Sophie and Chase to be HS sweethearts until an accident sends them down different roads and they continue to avoid each other when he comes into town as the vet – a car vs dog accident throws them together on the new road to their HEA – I read a paperback!!
Annie Rains is a solid choice if you are looking for a sweet, clean, heartwarming book. Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is no exception. Chase has returned to the small-town of Sweetwater Springs to take over as the veterinarian and help with his sister-in-law and nephew after his brother runs into trouble. He loves being back in town but running into his first love brings back all sorts of feelings. Sophie was head over heels for Chase years ago and loved to climb with him until an accident crushed her leg and had her pushing him away. He’s back now and she’s not sure how she feels about that.
This book is a great story of second chances. Deeper than that is two people working to overcome past hurts…both physical and emotional to see if they can be together again. I loved that they were fairly quick to acknowledge their old feelings while also realizing that you can’t ever really go back to the past. The characters from former books in the series pop in here and there making it that much more fun. That being said, this book works well as a standalone. Finally, I love that this book has another sweet, fun-loving dog. Comet is a character unto himself.
I really enjoyed this newest release from Rains and, as always, look forward to reading more from her.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for an ARC of this book. The opinions here are my own.
So many feels in this story. Sophie has worked through so many emotions and they aren’t through with her yet. I love the way she helps ladies through her boutique. She definitely gives back to the community that gave to her. Chase is trying to get a handle on his own feelings. Can the two of them work through a second chance for them? How will Trisha and Petey handle what life has dealt them? Love the folks in Sweetwater Springs and I think you will too. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

A sweet and emotional second chance romance
A devastating accident derailed Sophie and Chase’s romance when they were eighteen, but now that he’s moved to Sweetwater Springs to help watch over his nephew he’s doing whatever it takes to settle into his hometown, and winning Sophie back is at the top of his list.
Sophie had very good reasons to push Chase away ten years before, and she’s not ready to consider that those reasons had an expiration date. But when she needs a veterinarian and Chase is the only one in town, she can’t resist wondering if there’s hope for a second chance.
Both Chase and Sophie have issues they need to deal with on their way to a very satisfying HEA, and I loved the gentle yet persistent manner in which those obstacles were addressed.
I love the sense of community in these stories, and the focus on the interpersonal relationships of all kinds brings a level of intimacy and realism that makes this series impossible to put down. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A Must Read!!
After reading the Sweetwater Springs series from the beginning, I’m of course sad that it’s ending. I’ve loved getting to know this small town and its citizens throughout the pages of each book. Annie Rains has always made each character unique and they come alive through her writing. She’s a must read author for me and that’s why this book is getting a four star rating from me.
But if I’m being honest, I wasn’t a fan of either lead character. They just didn’t gel for me, either as a couple or individuals. I spent most of the book being annoyed with Chase, until I finally admitted that Sophie was the real culprit of my ire. She spent years blaming the wrong person for her accident and I justI couldn’t summon much sympathy towards her. And that makes this reader a bit sad.
So while this chapter has closed, I am so looking forward to the next series from Ms. Rains! I’m pretty sure I know where it’ll be set and who it will feature (wink, wink) and I cannot wait!
3.5 Stars
Sweetwater Springs has been such a great town to visit and I’m sad to see this series end but I’m also excited to travel to Somerset Lake.
This story has a lot of angst and sometimes was heavier than I was expecting. Some parts I skimmed to get through the details but I was pulling for Sophie and Chase from jump.
Sophie and Chase were high school sweethearts, but then accident changed this.
Chase went to attend college and didn’t come back, until now.
Sophie, realized that she still has feelings for Chase.
Both of them needs to put past behind them to have a better future.
I loved Sophie and Chase.
Storyline is wonderful.
Another new author that I discovered recently. Annie Rains wrote this story that includes a cute dog. There are seven books in the Sweetwater Springs Series. This book can stand alone. Right away I was drawn to the cover. How can you resist picking this up?
Comet, the dog, brought Sophie and Chase together. Well, together again. They have a past but is there a chance for a future?
Sophie and Chase each have fears and obstacles to conquer before they can even think of a future together.
I plan to pick up the previous books as I enjoyed the story line and all the characters. The covers of her books are appealing as well as what is in between them.
I received this book for free to review from The Hachette Book Company.
This is the final book in the Sweetwater Springs series so this was bittersweet to read as I love this series. I was so happy that boutique owner Sophie was able to finally able to get her HEA with her high school sweetheart Chase. Years ago Sophie was injured in a rock climbing accident and ended her relationship with Chase (who is back in Sweetwater Springs as their vet). The accident scarred Sohpie both physically & emotionally. When he returned Sophie did her best to avoid him until she needed his help with an injured dog. I also loved Trisha, little Petey and the cute dog Comet.
This is hands down one of the best books about second chances and helping others to make it in this hard world that I have ever read! Sophie used to love to climb before she had a horrible accident that disfigured her leg and took the desire to climb right out of her heart. Chase was her true love and climbing buddy, but he hadn’t been there for her that day, the worst day in her life, so she has turned her back on climbing and on Chase. When Chase returns to Sweetwater Springs as the town’s only vet, it is inevitable that he will run into Sophie since the town is so small. The story is incredibly fast-paced and remarkably well-plotted. The characters are flawed human beings just trying to work through some difficulties in their lives. I was shedding more than a few tears as each obstacle seemed to be working out, even for Trisha whose husband Pete is in prison. Sophie’s desire to help others ends up with her getting a cute and smart little dog named Comet. And of course, since Chase is a vet, their paths continue to cross. My favorite character in the book was actually Nadine. You will just have to read the book to find out what she has to overcome and if she is able to succeed. This book is uplifting and was just the perfect tale for me to read this week! Fans of the series will not want to miss this culminating book since all of the former characters have a role to play. Avid readers who have not read the series will be fine reading this one as a standalone, but then they will want to go back and read the other books because the author weaves such a good story.

This was such a great and final addition to this wonderful series! I swear Annie Rains has such a talent for sucking you into her stories and not letting go until the very end! There are so many feel good emotions that you get from reading this book and considering how life has been lately this was just the thing for me to read to lift my spirits. I can’t wait to read what she writes next!
I have read a few books in this series and have really enjoyed them it was really fun to catch up with past characters in this book. I really liked this book a lot. I feel like some books have a lesson to learn in them I’m not sure if authors intend for that but it happens. I feel like that was the case in this story. We each need to conquer our fears and find the love in them and around ourselves. I really liked how Sophie, Trisha, and Nadine all felt like real people and not characters it was easy to feel like I was catching up with friends with them. I did like Chase he seemed like he knew what he wanted but also took the time to want to learn. Over all this was a clean read and a fun read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I have to start off by saying that I hate when a series ends. It’s like saying goodbye to old friends. Here’s my dilemma, I also love starting new series by my favorite authors. I guess we’ll have to go on the ride for this new series and I’m pretty sure we’ll love it just as my as we did Sweetwater Springs.
This review isn’t as easy to write as most of my others. I was very conflicted with this story. I both loved it with moments of “really”, and can we move on, please. I hate when that happens with an author that I really love reading. Now that doesn’t mean I didn’t’ enjoy the story because I did. It just means at times I wasn’t always happy with it.
Confusing aren’t I? I’ll try to explain. Let me start off with that I loved Chase and think he’s a really great guy who at times is too good for Sophie. His only crime in this whole book is being young when it all started. I know, I’m not really explaining it but I want you to read it for yourself and judge how you feel about it all.
Now, I think you’re getting what I’m putting down that Sophie isn’t my favorite heroine. What can I say it happens sometimes. I didn’t dislike her but I did feel like all her issues were of her own making. She caused it and took it out on others and still does in a passive-aggressive way. She did something stupid, which we all do but she blames poor Chase who had nothing to do with her poor judgment. I might have gotten over her attitude but throughout the whole story it brought up over and over again.
When we aren’t dwelling on their past I really enjoyed the story. I liked how Chase was dealing with what his brother has done and how he stood up to help out his brother’s family. I also enjoyed the interactions between Chase and his friends.
One of the things I enjoyed about Sophie is the way she stood up and took care of Comet when he is hurt. She’s not really an animal person but still took him in. I also loved what she did in the backroom of her boutique and wish there was more about that than what happened in her past. What she did for those ladies in need is a wonderful thing.
I also liked how the author is going to tie the new series in with this one. A great way of moving us over. It’s a little sad, but I’m excited to see what happens. Not my favorite of the authors but still a very good read.
REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is the seventh instalment in Annie Rains’ contemporary, adult SWEETWATER SPRINGS romance series. This is veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels’ story line. REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Sophie and Chase) REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE follows the rekindling romance between former high school sweethearts veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels. Years earlier, at the age of eighteen, Chase and Sophie had planned a weekend mountain climbing but Chase backed out, and Sophie found herself in months of rehab following an accident that left our heroine clinging to life. Fast forward to present day wherein Chase, now the town’s new veterinarian, has returned home, and is hoping for a second chance with the woman he still loves but Sophie Daniels struggles with memories of the past, and continues to blame our hero for what happened years before. An injured puppy will bring our couple together but issues of trust and the battle to forgive will find Sophie and Chase at odds, once again. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Sophie and Chase, and the potential fall-out as a favor for a friend places our couple in a position that threatens their continuing issues of trust.
The relationship between Sophie and Chase is one of second chances. Former high school sweethearts torn apart by the immaturity of love, and Sophie’s inability to move on from the past. Chase was not to blame for the accident suffered by our story line hero but Sophie’s need to blame someone made Chase the perfect target for her misplaced anger and shame. There are no $ex scenes; the kissing is chaste; the romance is implied.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Chase’s sister-in-law Trisha, and her son Petey, both of whom are struggling in the wake of Chase’s brother’s white collar crimes; Chase’s new clinic assistant Nadine, and Comet, who is the perfect foil for a rekindling romance.
REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is a story of family and friendships, second chances and love. The premise is sweet and heart warming; the romance is chaste; the characters are animated and flirty.

A WEDDING ON LAVENDER HILL
A WEDDING ON LAVENDER HILL is a bonus novelette found in Annie Rains’ REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE focusing on event planner Claire Donovan and architect Bo Matthews.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Claire and Bo) A WEDDING ON LAVENDER HILL follows the quick turnaround of a wedding that should have taken months to plan. With only three days notice, events planner Claire Donovan has been tasked with pulling together the wedding of Bo Matthew’s father Pearson Matthews to his much younger bride Rebecca Long but Rebecca is struggling in the final weeks of her pregnancy and Pearson has sent his son Bo to help Claire with the wedding arrangements. Months earlier, Claire and Bo spent an evening together but in the aftermath Bo left town without looking back. Fast forward to present day wherein Claire continues to struggle with the rejection of the man with whom she would fall in love.
A WEDDING ON LAVENDER HILL is a story of second chances, of a sorts. There had been no official relationship development, only a few hours spent in one another’s company following the wedding of Bo’s ex to his best friend, but our heroine took Bo’s disappearance personally, and struggles to forgive and forget.

This book has so much going for it. The storyline had a complexity to it that really kept me involved. Both of the main characters had things they were dealing with aside from the issues of their past relationship. The result of a traumatic accident from when they were previously involved had driven a huge wedge between them, whether it was based on true feelings or not. Chase and Sophie have a lot to overcome if they are going to be a couple again.
The puppy in the book added so much to the story. He was a lightness that changed what could have been tons of darkness, plus Sophie’s changing from a total non-dog person to taking him in showed her ability to change and adapt. I loved that. I also loved Chase, but who wouldn’t love a veterinarian determined to win back his first love?
A wonderful book! The bonus story made it even better!
Sweetwater Springs is always such a wonderful place to visit! Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is no different, as this was such a wonderful second-chance romance.
Chase Lewis and Sophie Daniels used to be the “it” couple and completely inseparable back when they were in their late teens, but a climbing accident badly injured Sophie and in the aftermath, she pushed Chase away effectively ending their relationship.
Now many years on, Chase has returned to town as the sole veterinarian and to help his ex-sister-in-law and nephew after his brother found himself in trouble and subsequently in jail. He’s always missed Sophie, but figured that ship had sailed.
Sophie now owns her own clothing boutique and as much as she wishes she didn’t still have feelings for her former flame, she definitely does. When she accidentally bumps a puppy with her car, Chase comes to the rescue when he happens to stop and help her.
As the two spend more and more time together because of little Comet, their connection is obvious and no less strong than it was years before. Can they both reflect on where they are and where they have been in order to make a relationship work?
I enjoyed these two so much. I always enjoy second-chance romances and this was no exception. Both characters were flawed and that made it that much more real for me. They both had to look deep inside themselves in order to get to where they needed to be both personally and professionally. I highly recommend this book and any of Annie Rains other titles!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**
I really enjoy the Sweetwater Springs series by Annie Rains. Her latest book in the series,#7, is Reunited on Dragonfly Lane and I loved it. The dog Comet tends to steal the show at times and I liked how Comet helps bring Sophie and Chase together. Sophie and Chase are a lovely couple and I enjoyed reading along through to their Happily Ever After.
I always get so excited when Annie Rains releases a new book, because her books always draw me in and keep me entertained. This book was no exception, it was just the happy story I needed to escape real life this week. Chase and Sophie were great both characters, and seeing Sophie as a side character in many previous books in this series, I was excited to learn more about her and see her get her own Happily Ever After. Comet and Petey were also great characters that I really enjoyed being such a big part of this story! Sweetwater Springs is such a great setting, it is one of those towns that I wish was real so that I could go and visit it in real life. The side characters in this book, and town are so colorful and add so much to each others stories. I hope that there are many more books in the Sweetwater Springs series to come. I received an ARC of this book from netgalley, and this is my honest review.
