In this romantic adventure, anything is paws-ible when a single shop owner makes a connection with her new vet. Boutique owner Sophie Daniels certainly isn’t looking to adopt a dog the day veterinarian Chase Lewis convinces her to take in Comet. A rambunctious puppy with a broken leg may not be the best choice for a first-time pet owner. And house calls from the handsome doctor — her high … And house calls from the handsome doctor — her high school sweetheart who’s just moved back to Sweetwater Springs — may not be the best choice for her heart either.
Chase has come home to help his nephew but finds that he’s forgotten just how much he enjoys small-town life. However, sooner or later, he’s going to have to face the past and his unresolved feelings for Sophie. Now that Comet needs both their help, Chase is going to let the four-legged matchmaker work his canine magic. Then Chase will prove to Sophie that first love is even better the second time around.
Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Lavender Hill!
This author writes the best small-town journeys! This 2nd chance romance will have you swooning and hoping these two get that 2nd chance. As always when fur babies are involved it is just better.
The feels were here and there’s good depth to convey it all. An HEA and happy smiles for Chase and Sophie, and me! A lot of cameos, but still a stand alone in this series
Loved this book !!!
A puppy, A handsome vet and a girl who has trouble letting go of the past.
Read the book to find out !!!!
Veterinarian Chase Lewis has come back home to Sweetwater Springs to help his Nephew only to realize his high school sweetheart Boutique owner Sophia Daniels has just moved back also! Will a little dog name Comet bring them back together! This is such a great story and a page turner if you haven’t read you should ! You won’t be disappointed !
This was a delightful romance! I kind of picked this book on a whim. I had not read this author before or really remember hearing much about her work. I am going to say that my decision to read this book was probably based on the dog on the cover more than anything. Sad to admit but ultimately true. Well, this dog didn’t steer me wrong and I ended up really enjoying this book.
I found out after I had the book that it is the seventh book in the Sweetwater Springs series. Thankfully, this book read perfectly well as a stand-alone, although now I really want to go back and read the earlier books in the series.
This book focuses on Sophie, Chase, and the dog that brought them together, Comet. Sophie is on her way to a wedding when she hits a dog. While she is on the side of the road trying to help the dog, the local veterinarian, Chase, who happens to be on his way to the same wedding stops to help out. Chase helps the dog out and they both make it to the wedding a little late. Oh, did I mention that Sophie and Chase used to be together until Sophie had an accident and pushed him away?
I just loved these two together. Sophie had a lot of things to work out as a result of the accident that changed her life. Chase had some issues with his family that he needed to deal with as well. I thought that they had fantastic chemistry together and it was evident that they never stopped caring about each other. When Sophie agrees to take in the dog they saved together, they suddenly had a perfect reason to spend more time with each other and I thought it was fun that the dog played an important role in the story. It was fun getting to see these two get to know each other again.
I would recommend this book to romance readers. This was a wonderful romance set in a town filled with fabulous characters. Sophie, Chase, and Comet won my heart and I look forward to reading more from this talented author soon.
I received a review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing).
Wow! What an amazing book! It is romantic, heartfelt, full of love, pulls at your heart strings, hopeful, and so much more! Whenever I picked up “Reunited on Dragonfly Lane”, I felt like I was visiting old friends, and fell in love with this story!
This is the seventh book in Annie Rains “Sweetwater Springs” series, and it is so bittersweet, as this is the final book in such a beautiful series! It can absolutely be read as a stand-alone novel as well, and I am so looking forward to what Ms. Rain’s will write next, as her storytelling is spectacular. She brings the world of her books to life in an exquisite way, and you fall in love with the characters. You can truly feel their wants, fears, desires, and needs, and I find myself so pulling for them to find love and happiness!
Sophie is such a strong, kind, brave, and caring woman with a heart of gold. She suffered a horrific accident years ago, and is understandably guarded and concerned. Never could she have imagined what happens when her ex-boyfriend Chase returns to town, and how a sweet little puppy will bring the two of them together again.
Chase is such a caring and loving man with a heart of gold as well. He returns to town to help take care of his nephew, and is also the town veterinarian. He has always cared for Sophie, his first love, and when he finds her on the side of the road with an injured animal (who is alright thank goodness) who needs help, he steps right in. Never could he have imagined what happens next.
(Possible Spoilers!)
I found myself pulling for this second-chance-romance from the very beginning. Chase and Sophie truly bring out the best in one another, and through ups and downs, you can still feel their bond and connection. You will have to read to see what happens!
If you enjoy contemporary romance novels, I highly recommend this book! It is so sweet, and truly had me turning the pages to see how everything would work out! Also, I absolutely love and adore Comet! Such a little cutie oh my goodness!
Thank you so much to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC of this book, I loved it! All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Perfect for lovers of sweet romance! I loved Sophie and Chase’s story, who are reunited by fate and the cutest puppy ever Comet. I also love that both Sophie and Chase are charters with big hearts as Chase is a vet who takes care of animals , and Sophie has a little charity inside her boutique that helps women. This couple were made for each other though it may take a bit for them to realize that , fate always come back to right the path gone wrong .
Reading this wonderful, amazing, romantic story was such a delight and a little bittersweet, considering it’s the last time I’ll be in Sweetwater Springs. I’ve come to love this town and all of the people in it. Sophie and Chase are now one of my top two favorite couples in the series. I’m sad to be leaving this town, but I can’t wait to meet everyone in Somerset Lake
Chase Lewis once had her heart in the palm of his hands, he was the boy Sophie loved and wanted a future with. But after she suffered a devastating injury while climbing, her first instinct was to push him away and blame him for the accident. At that point she thought she was doing what was best, but now she realizes it was a mistake. Losing him broke her heart and left her a little hesitant about falling in love again.
No one else has ever meant as much to her as he did, but admitting that out loud is something she’ll never do. It’s not like she’ll ever see him again anyhow… that is until an injured puppy intervenes!
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a touching story of second chances, finding love, and forgiveness. It brings us into the lives of Sophie and Chase and follows them on their dramatic and heart-squeezing reunion. At the age of eighteen these two were madly in love and thought they had life all figured out, their plan for a future all mapped out. But then an accident changes everything between them and forces them apart for about ten years. Now they are being reunited by injured puppy and forced to face what happened way back when.
It’s evident upon first meeting that these two have something special still lingering between them, but old wounds are overshadowing that. It is also evident that they have some work to do to get to a place where they can admit that this reunion is a blessing and not a curse. Chase is willing to do whatever it takes to get Sophie back, but she isn’t giving in so easily. Her heart carries a lot of pain and regret and she needs time to sort it out, so she tries to keep him at an arm’s length… but her heart fights her every step of the way. This one had a bit of push and pull to it, while these characters tried to sort out their past. Just when I thought they were making headway, those old wounds would resurface and cause them to take two steps back. While their reunion was a bit frustrating at times for me, I enjoyed it nonetheless. I could see the potential there, I just wasn’t too patient in waiting for it to happen! As always Ms. Rains has given us a wonderfully penned love story that stirs the emotions, touches the heart, and has characters we don’t want to leave! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane by Annie Rains is another winner my personal opinion. I enjoy second chance romances, and this one certainly fit the bill in that category. Sophie has built a life for herself after a accident that changed her life in so many ways. Chase has moved back to town as the new vet, and their old romance is once again rekindled. I most definitely would recommend this book to others.
I received a ARC from NetGalley and they publisher but am under no obligation to leave a favorable review, all opinions expressed here are my own.
Sophie Daniels has her hands full running her boutique and definitely had no plans to adopt a dog, especially not a puppy with a broken leg and lots of energy. But since she’s the one who tapped the pup with her car, she caves when the vet, Chase Lewis, asks her to foster him. Chase also happens to be the high school sweetheart she never quite got over so frequent contact with him seems risky for her heart too.
Chase has just returned to take over the veterinary clinic in his hometown so he can be closer to his young nephew. He loves the small-town life, but it means confronting the feelings he still has for Sophie. Since she needs his help with the puppy, Chase is hoping she’ll fall in love with them both.
This premise was so cute, and the second chance aspect was different here as it was the heroine who ended the previous relationship which seems rare. The first half of this really worked for me and the latter sadly didn’t. I kept rooting for Chase and wound up feeling like he deserved better from Sophie. He seemed to give more than she did, and she refused to meet him in the middle, pushing him away out of a misplaced fear. This made Sophie seem rather disingenuous to me as Chase had always been there for her and she was the one to push him away, but he never gave her a real reason to doubt him. I adored the small-town setting and Chase as a genuinely good guy hero struggling with painful emotions, but the actual romance here fizzled out for me and I didn’t really get it until the very end. This aspect wasn’t helped by the lack of steam, but the main issue was how Sophie seemed to blow issues out of proportion or create them from nothing, seeking to blame Chase for things that weren’t his fault. She insisted she wasn’t a victim despite her accident, but mannerisms she exhibited, like hiding her scars, even from Chase, said otherwise and undermined their relationship. This was a cute setting but for me not much happened and there were many cyclical arguments and repetitive inner monologues that had me struggling to stay interested and invested in the story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Blog link: https://mustreadalltheromance.blogspot.com/2021/02/reunited-on-dragonfly-lane-by-annie.html
Sophie Daniels is happy with her life as a boutique owner. She doesn’t plan to add a dog to her home until Chase Lewis returns to town to take over the town’s veterinary clinic. Chase needs someone to foster Comet, a very active puppy with a broken leg. Sophie can’t say no. She feels responsible because she accidentally hit him with her car when he suddenly ran into the street and she was unable to stop.
Sophie and Chase have a history. Their relationship ended with a bad breakup when they were both college students. Can this adorable little pup help Sophie and Chase get past the hurt and hard feelings that resulted from a terrible accident that caused their relationship to end so many years ago?
Annie Rains is a master of creating characters and situations that find their way into the reader’s heart. Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is Book 7 in the Sweetwater Springs series. It can be read as a standalone, but you will want to read all of the other books in the series and meet all of other wonderful residents of Sweetwater Springs.
It is refreshing to read a wholesome romance series where the storyline holds the reader’s interest without having to resort to steamy bedroom scenes. Ms. Rains is a master of the sweet, wholesome romance genre.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a wonderful second chance small town romance that you don’t want to miss. This book just made me happy with great characters like Sophie and Chase and the always adorable Comet who brings them together. Events of the past could shatter their future if they don’t find a way to deal with them. You’ll want to go on this journey with them. I highly recommend it.
This book will just tug on your heartstrings. Sophie Daniels is the owner of the town’s boutique. She has been all about giving back to the town since they all gathered together to help her years ago when she fell rock climbing and nearly died. Chase Lewis is the town’s veterinarian. He moved back to Sweetwater to help his ex-sister-in-law and son deal with his older brother’s mess. The stars have aligned. Sophie and Chase were first loves. The accident drove them apart but never drove their love away. With the help of Comet, an adorable puppy, they are brought back together. For them to achieve their HEA, all the past baggage must be dealt with. The black-tie affair brought out the town in their dresses and tuxedos. My favorite line was, “Now, find someone special and dance the night away.” All our favorite couples out on the dance floor. You can just feel the love. I’m going to miss this series.
Annie Rains creates a heartwarming story for veterinarian Chase Lewis and boutique owner Sophie Daniels in the latest addition to the Sweetwater Springs series. Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a well plotted, poignant second chance romance filled with captivating characters
Ten years ago, a climbing accident turned Sophie’s world upside down. Instead of going to college, she broke up with Chase, her high school boyfriend, and spent a year in rehab. Annie Rains has crafted a heroine who appears to be happy and content. In truth, Sophie has not forgiven herself for the decision she made while on the mountain. This mistake changes Sophie both physically and emotionally and in doing so makes her a flawed but, relatable character.
Chase moved back to Sweetwater Springs to support Trisha, his former sister- in -law and his nephew Petey. Chase’s brother was convicted of embezzlement and his family is suffering repercussions. He’s a dedicated vet who loves all outdoor sports; mountain bike riding, climbing, fishing. Loved that he has unresolved issues—with Sophie and his brother—and is not quite sure how to resolve them.
An injured Border collie puppy named Comet brings the couple together. The sexual chemistry between the couple sizzled which enabled the author to create a slow burn romance for Sophie and Chase. They have been given a valuable gift- the opportunity to build a relationship built on trust and forgiveness.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane grabbed my heart from the first page because Sophie survived and made a difference in her community. Her journey was very emotional, inspirational and heartwarming. I loved that kindness and forgiveness were the key themes in this novel Sophie and Chase brought out the best in each other—this made this captivating novel a 5 star read!
If you are looking for a heartwarming small town romance filled with love, laughter and fabulous characters—pick up a copy of Annie Rains Reunited on Dragonfly Lane!
I have enjoyed every book in this series and will miss the characters, their stories and the close knit community. Sweetwater Springs is the type of series that can be reread and appreciated with each reading. Am looking forward to the authors next series—Somerset Lake!
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is the seventh – and last – book of the Sweetwater Springs series by Annie Rains. Does it stand alone? Perfectly, and I would know because this was the first one I’ve read. What is wrong with me?! 2020 was awful, and I could have made it a heck of a lot sweeter had I read the previous books! The pandemic and breast cancer followed by a bilateral mastectomy would have been a lot more pleasant with some visits to Sweetwater Springs, N.C.
Sophie Daniels owns the hottest boutique in the small town of Sweetwater Springs. When she hits an adorable little pup with her car and breaks its leg, veterinarian Chase Lewis comes to the rescue. Chase was Sophie’s high school sweetheart who recently moved back to town to help his nephew. Years ago, when Chase made other plans with his friends, Sophie went climbing by herself and was seriously injured, stuck on the mountain with a crushed leg. That’s when Sophie pushed him away and ended their romance. Now Chase convinces Sophie to foster puppy Comet until he’s healed, and he’ll help with Comet’s care. Can the loveable furball bring these two back together?
This was a lovely second (third?) chance small-town romance. Sweetwater Springs sounds like the perfect place to live; what a shame it’s fictional! Both Sophie and Chase were great characters, though I must admit I did like Chase more. Sophie had a popular boutique but she also had a “Fairy Godmother’s Closet” in the back of her store, where she helped women from a local shelter with second-hand clothes for job interviews. She also took Comet in though she knew nothing about dogs. I did have an issue with Sophie telling Chase years ago that her accident was his fault, even though she told him so he’d go to college and she wouldn’t be a burden on him. She really hurt him. I did enjoy their romance very much, but it was Chase’s relationships with his family that I found most touching. His brother was in jail so he returned to his home town to help his former sister-in-law Trisha and nephew Petey. Though his brother Pete and Trisha were divorced, she was still Chase’s family and he loved them dearly. Chase was trying to come to terms that Pete was a criminal and was in jail; it was that relationship that made me tear up. Of course, the star of the show was Comet…who can resist a cute puppy?!
There was also a short story at the end of the book, A Wedding on Lavender Hill. Short and sweet!
I received an ARC if this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
Rains’s Sweetwater Springs series has been one of my favorites and I’m sad to see it end. Her characters make me want to keep coming to visit and this last installment is no exception. Perfect for fans of second chances and adorable puppies.
It’s always a bittersweet moment for me when a series comes to the final story, yet Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is also a bittersweet story, so perhaps it’s actually very fitting. We may be saying good-bye to Sweetwater Springs, but it will tie-in with the new series, Somerset Lake set to begin this spring. Perhaps we’ll get some cameos along the way, that would be a very special touch. Anyway.
There was a time when Chase and Sophie were inseparable, young love at its finest. Yet, that love didn’t survive one devastating event that left Sophie scarred both inside and out. It’s been a decade since an unwise decision, and an incorrect accusation broke this couple apart. But they’ll have to deal with each other soon since Chase is back in Sweetwater Springs and Sophie finds she needs the services of the local vet when she accidentally hits a puppy and he needs urgent care. She just didn’t expect that she’d be leaving Chase’s offices with a new dog companion or a makes housecalls vet, either. But, there ya go.
To be frank, I adored Chase, loved little Comet, but found it hard to warm up to Sophie. Oh, I know why but I was hoping by the ending I’d be liking her more than I did. Some personality traits just seem to get this reaction from me whether it’s real-life or fiction. But that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of Reunited on Dragonfly Lane. Sophie may not have been my favorite character yet there were parts to her that I wish we’d seen a bit more of, it might have changed how I reacted to her. I still loved the second chance this couple got to get love right this time when they are both more mature and can deal with what life brought them.
So, we say good-bye to Sweetwater Springs and anticipate the arrival of new stories, new residents, and lots of happily ever afters in Somerset Lake. Something I’m definitely looking forward to.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Forever via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane in Sweetwater Springs was always another fabulous trip the be with friends that you have made through all of the Sweetwater Springs series.
There is one of two major events in this town and they have all attending.
Emma and Jack’s wedding was the first big event of the town.
When Sophie was on her way to the wedding. She saw something run out in front of her and she her a thump.
She had hit the little dog. Comet .. Comets owner didn’t check on him after Chase had called and left messages for her. Comet was an abandoned little guy with nobody to care for him but the town Veterinary and that is when he is at the Clinic. But Chase is sure that things will will work out for this little guy.
Sophie has become very worried that there will not be a forever home for Comet. Sophie is becoming in love with him everyday that she had him.
Chase the veterinary was interested in Sophie before the accident and she pushed him out of her life but she could not stop him from loving her he would wait for ever.
Then you the last event was the Black tie affair for the woman shelter and they asked Sophie to speak and when she got up her leg wanted to give out on her and Chase was right there not to let her fall.
Annie Rains knows how to write her books so you makes friends from the book and keep making them has you go along. Annie I am sorry this is the last book of this series because I will miss all the friends that I have made that you put together very well.
This is a series I recommend if you love romance that will last you forever as friends in your heart and library at home.
Sophie has settled into a predictable life as a boutique owner in Sweetwater Springs. She’s particularly proud to provide clothing to the local women’s shelter to help residents interview for jobs. Still, a part of her misses the adventurous life she had before she was injured in a rock climbing accident as a teen.
Chase has moved back home to Sweetwater Springs and taken over the local veterinary practice. He’s still pining after Sophie, but she’s made it clear that she’s not open to rekindling their romance. But when she brings him an injured puppy, their lives become intertwined once. Can she open her heart and overcome her fears of being hurt?
Annie Rains has done it again with this sweet, charming romance. The small-town atmosphere, the strong family relationships, and the enduring friendships lure you in and reward you with a satisfying happily ever after. I especially loved how patient Sophie and Chase were with each other, supporting and encouraging each other without ever pushing the other person beyond their limits. It’s nice to read about grown-up characters solving their problems in grown-up ways.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received.
Hopeful, enchanting, and sweetly romantic!
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a heartfelt, adorable second-chance romance that features the kindhearted, scarred Sophie and the handsome, dependable Chase as they navigate a relationship that includes undeniable chemistry, a devastating accident in the past, a relationship that ended badly, and an irresistible, four-legged, furry friend.
The writing is cosy and light. The characters are generous, hesitant, and endearing. And the plot is a compelling combination of family, friendship, community, generosity, tender moments, and swoon-worthy romance.
Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is another playful, emotional, charming read by Rains, and even though it’s a little sad to say goodbye to all the characters we’ve come to know and love over the past seven novels, it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to indulge in all the romance, adventure, mishaps, and love that’s gone on in Sweetwater Springs over the entire series, and I can’t wait to be swept away to Somerset Lake when the new series kicks off later this spring.
