He remembers the heat. She remembers the heartbreak. Twenty years later do they still have a shot at love? When an injury puts NFL star Krew Slattery’s future in question, he returns to his hometown of Good Hope. He plans to lay low, until he runs into Cassie Lohmeier. Krew has never forgotten the one amazing night they shared, and unfortunately for him, Cassie hasn’t either… Cassie isn’t the …
Cassie isn’t the same love-struck girl who had her heartbroken by her high school crush. When Krew left town without even a good-bye, she was devastated and made every mistake a woman can make. But Cassie is older, wiser, and determined to leave her sordid past behind. No more excuses or distractions, and most importantly, no more men.
But keeping Krew at a distance proves impossible once they learn he’s her daughter’s real father. Her child’s plea to spend time together over the holidays has Cassie reeling, but how can she say no? Will Krew’s return be another roadblock in her path…or an unexpected second chance at love?

This was a love story that couldn’t have ended any other way. When Krew comes back to town to be in the homecoming festivities at the high school, it stirs up memories and emotions of his high school days. In a love story with lots of twists, turns, and questions, it seems those emotions have worked themselves out. But what does that mean for the future? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
While this is a book in a series, it could stand alone if one picked it up. Kirk does a great job introducing each of the characters (that have played starring roles in the previous books) and locations so a new reader isn’t lost. I would strongly recommend reading it after the previous 7 books as the characters continue to develop and their stories intertwine.
I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy from the author.
I really enjoyed Reunited in Good Hope. As always, Cindy demonstrates a wonderful insight into human nature and a skilled ability to convey real people through the written word. I particularly enjoyed (I laughed out loud!) Dakota’s reaction to Krew when he invited her to move in with him when school started back. How dare he speak/think ill of her mother! She can do so, but no one else is allowed! How true!!! I also enjoy that Cindy shares her gift of insight with her characters and allows them to analyze, quite correctly, each other. I really, really, REALLY appreciate that she generally has her characters speak honestly to one another. I’ve read too many books where characters are not honest with one another, and it creates so many misunderstandings and mistakes. I’m tired of groaning over people who can’t be honest! Cindy’s characters are so much better!
I also really enjoyed the interaction in this one between Cassie and her kids as well as the interactions among her kids themselves. Even though there were elements that mark them as the kids they are, there was real love and affection displayed. I love reading books that warm my heart – and this one definitely does.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I honestly loved it.
Krew Slattery spent the night with Cassie Lohmeier and left town to pursue his NFL career. He didn’t know that Cassie became pregnant and had to work herself to the bone to provide food for the table. Cassie also had to endure the snide remarks people would make behind her back. Years later, Krew started seeing a resemblance between him and Cassie’s daughter. After confirmation from a DNA test, he sets out to make amends and rekindle a relationship that burned hot and quick but ended too soon. Will Cassie be able to forgive the past and open up her heart?
I loved this story. It was full of hope, forgiveness and new beginnings. I admired how Cassie worked through her struggles and changed her life. I also respected how she admitted her mistakes from the past and changed her ways. I liked how Krew endeavored to be a good father and opened his heart to Cassie’s family. As always, Ms. Kirk’s story left me feeling hopeful that the world could change and be more loving and forgiving. Thank you, Ms. Kirk!

OMG!!! I received an advanced readers copy of this book. I voluntarily read this book and was not disappointed. This is the second read from this author. All I can say is Hallmark Channel need to be in touch with this author. PURE ROMANCE. Love how I became apart of this book. I want to know everything that happens to these characters.
I love when an author can make me a part of the book. Well developed theme and characters.
Can’t wait for the next book.
I was so happy to get my hands on Cassie’s story!! I always love returning to Good Hope and Cassie’s story has been one I have been curious about since the beginning. Her journey pulled at my heartstrings and made me cheer for her successes. We’ve all made mistakes in life, some greater than others, but still…it’s about how you pull yourself back up and rise above it that counts most. I liked Krew for Cassie and loved seeing his interactions with her children. I would love to get more of their story to see what happens after the final page. Can’t wait for more of this series!

What a great book! Featuring Cassie and her Baby Daddy, Krew. Heat index is low/medium, right when I thought we were getting hot, it was the next day and they had done it. It’s always a pleasure to read one of Cindy’s books. All of our old Good Hope friends make appearances, with several pregnancies going on.

Loved it!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Krew and Cassie find their way back together in a very gripping. Cindy Kirk’s writng really captures the emotions and feelings of that ride. Great book!!! Cindy Kirk did it again!
This is a fantastic second chance romance! We met Cassie in the first book in this series, and she was a hot mess. She was pregnant at fifteen, estranged from her mother, had four children by three baby daddies and was living with larcenous abusive perv Clint. She is slowly getting her life turned around through the span of the prior seven books. In this book, the father of her daughter Dakota, Krew, comes back. He is a retiring NFL player visiting his hometown. He sees Dakota, realizes that she looks just like his sister, and that he has a daughter. Krew wants to get to know his daughter, and Dakota want to have a real family. Both Cassie and Krew have a lot of regrets and past mistakes to work through. The Cassie in the first book was pretty un-likable. But she is turning her life around and deserves her happily every after. Make sure you have a tissue handy, as I teared up a lot with this book. If you like this series, you will love this book. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Cassie and Krew, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this story only because the earlier stories didn’t put Cassie in the best of light. However this book totally surprised me and it one of my favourite books of the series.
I love Cassie’s kids, they are such a close family unit and I hope they get their own stories at some point! I love that we still get to find out about other couple or possible next couple that we can read about.
I think it written really well and deals with the issue of regret, forgiveness and moving forward in a perfect way. I also think it shows asking for help and getting help is allowed and it not a weakness as some people think. It made me think about forgiveness and my own circumstances.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
Cassie Lohmeier’s life has been a series of bad decisions, decisions that usually revolved around men. Her four children are the only good that came from her failed relationships. When her latest disastrous choice nearly alienates her from her daughter, she vows to change, putting her children and self improvement first, determined to move forward without the hindrance of men. Enter Krew Slattery, NFL star and the first of Cassie’s poor choices. He is determined to be a good and supportive father for the daughter he never knew about. Can Cassie stick to her guns in the face of the serious attraction that exists between her and Krew? Cindy Kirk continues to keep readers returning to Good Hope with her well developed characters and tight plots. I loved Cassie and Krew’s story and look forward to the next Good Hope Novel…soon:) I received a complementary copy of this book from the author and I am willing giving this honest review.
