MY HEART WANTS A KIND OF JUSTICE THE LAW CAN’T GIVE
On a dark, rainy night I drove my overstuffed junker car back to a town I never expected to see again.
And when I needed a rescue by the side of the road, a six-foot tall piece of hot, unfinished business named Mark was what the universe sent me.
Three years earlier I’d fled town (and Mark) to follow my wrongly-convicted father to his federal … wrongly-convicted father to his federal prison, working crappy jobs to stay afloat and visit him every second I could. But now Dad’s dead and I’m mysteriously offered the best job of my life at the college where his life blew up when he was accused of a crime he didn’t commit.
Someone wants me here. Desperately.
I’m hoping it’s Mark.
Because if it’s not, I’m in more danger than I ever imagined.
And if it is?
Mark may be the most dangerous choice of all.
RETURN is book 1 in the Coming Home romantic suspense trilogy by Meli Raine.

I actually purchased the Coming Home Series Boxed Set, so I read all three of the trilogy. In the first book (Return),Carrie returns to a town she never expected to see again.

Definitely the first in a series. Sets up the next book in the series. Not a stand alone.
I love this book, infact every book in this group of series is worth reading!
This is only the first book of a trilogy though, and you cannot read them as stand-alone.
The book is a good suspense, neat mystery and hot romance.
The story was intriguing with a different enough storyline.
I love how the suspense built gradually while the romance built alongside it. We were kept at the edge of our seat, and that’s how I like it.
I have a large number of books in my Kindle library so it takes a lot to make me go find the next book in the series but I had to read all three books (Return, Revenge, and Reunion) after I began with Return. I couldn’t predict the ending.
Return (Coming Home, #1):
5 stars:
I really loved this one! This is my first read of Meli Raine and I’ve heard great things and I’m glad I went in blind. I don’t think I’ve read this type of story opener (you’ll have to read to find out why). Ohhhh I can’t wait to find out what will happen to old flames Mark and Carrie. Beware that cliffy is going to make you jump into book 2 asap.
Savannah Peachwood did an amazing job narrating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I’m approaching this chapter in the Meli Raine saga a little bit from the wrong end. I already know what’s going to happen by the time the trilogy finishes but this book still compelled me to read more. Mark and Carrie are the pair that my foreknowledge knows the least about, so I’m really enjoying this chance to get to know them. I’m also soaking in the background to the events that will occur in the Harmless, Shameless, and False series. There are lots of hints about what’s coming next, but there’s also just as many sparkly red herrings leading off track. This book is a good choice for lovers of slow-build, atmospheric thrillers. I can’t wait to dive into the next chapter.
Intriguing Read!!
I’m on a bit of a thriller kick & this series seems like it’ll fit the bill perfectly so far Lots of intrigue, romance & potential creeps, or worse, are on the cards in this series opener.
Carrie has moved back to her home town after 3 years. Her Cop ex boyfriend, Mark, arrested her Dad. He was then tried & convicted on serious drug charges. He always claimed his innocence but has now died in Prison!!
Carrie has returned for a job opportunity & a chance to finish her Degree, but she’s also determined to clear her Dad’s name, even if it’s too late to save him!!
It doesn’t take long before things start getting strange!!

Great book. I had to buy next book in series which I never do!!
A mystery from a 22 year old’s perspective. Very entertaining with current slang makes it relatable. It left me hanging so interested in the remaining two books.
did not like that it was unfinished.. 1st of a 3 part book
Very entertaining and full of action. Loved it
Disappointed
I have to say, I loved the 3 books by this author. What I felt was unfair is that you have to buy the next two books because the author keeps you hanging after each one. The books are also shorter than most books so I had to pay $2.99 for each of the last 2 books to get to the end of the story. I probably wouldn’t have read the first one if I had known that up front.
Was a great read, BUT it should have been one book, not 3 short ones. Rip
off
It left you hanging so you’d go right into the sequel.
I don’t like ugly language.
It ended and left you hanging.
Definitely recommend this book.
I liked it
