Tack lost her two years ago. In a social experiment gone wrong, the participants fell in love…or was it only lust and forced proximity? The socialite millionaire has questioned these things until he learned where she’d been – right under his nose. With his Mouse discovered, it’s time to return to the island. Together. Juliet wasn’t hiding. She simply moved on from that period of self-discovery … of self-discovery and redemption. The new philanthropist believed he had done the same until circumstances drew her back to him. When she discovered he’d been searching for her, she needed to make a decision: return to the island or live without him forever.
Can two separated souls uncover true love or was the time they shared only a failed test at attraction?
This thought-provoking conclusion to the Island duet sets L.B. Dunbar’s work apart from other dark romance. If you like emotional journeys, tumultuous paths, and occasionally frustrating characters, then this tale of love after forgiveness is a second chance romance for you.
Welcome back to the island.

Five stars for this duet!!
This is the conclusion to Tack & Juliet’s story. For twenty-two months they’ve been apart. Juliet did not find him as she promised. He’s been looking for her all this time. Finally, his PI has found her. They both have the past hanging over them, both before the island and on the island. There’s a chance in both their minds that it wasn’t real. It wasn’t easy for them being in a different world from the island. They try so hard to overcome the obstacles. Then, they’re apart again. It all comes together in the end for an HEA. Lots of steam in this book. Lots of challenges, too. I absolutely loved this duet. I was a late bloomer to L.B. Dunbar’s book. This duet is before I even heard of her as an author. I’m so not disappointed in her writing. I love every minute of it when I read her books. If you haven’t read this duet, please do so. You won’t be disappointed.
The Parting words were I’ll Find You
And there starts the second book. Cause Juliet Montmore is waiting , as she promised she would. Days, months, years pass and their budding love seems like a fading memory as time goes on. Did they imagine each other or were they real ?
Did they believe in the experiment or the siren calls of the heart?
I’m starting to have doubts my self, yanno !!
The process was a vision quest.
A new process of retribution called restorative justice. Based on the Native American culture, which believed healing was a circular experience, I was sent to a remote island to reflect on my poor decision. The idea was to be reflective of what I’d done, in hopes I would come to terms with it and find the means to rectify the injustice. I had also been a victim first.
I was her lab rat. A mouse.
It’s a complicated process for them to pick up the pieces from where they scattered. Now, that’s easier said than done . The Island is an entity in itself . The aura or I should say the solitude and alienation from the world changes people. It either highlights their emotions or morphs them.they don’t necessarily behave in the same way they would on mainland. And that power play is very evident in book 2.
The constant push and pull , the persistent one step forward and two steps back, the outside worldly influences , the different backgrounds all try and block their progress. The bottom line is the heart to heart connection
I hope it sustains and doesn’t break their fragile relationship.
The characters are flawed. I loved the very clearheadedness of Tack . His personality was very stabilising and mooring. He held the story on his shoulders, very surprisingly.
He has a very direct path to morality now, he’s a keeper of promises and becomes a better person with every page turned.
Juliet frustrated me a lot, for a girl with her back to the wall, she fought less and thought more.
Miller is a gem of A friend and of course there’s Abbey and there’s Rory the snake again.
I liked the writing , just a bit stretched unnecessarily at points.
A novel experiment which had a lot of potential seeing how it crescended in Book 1 .
Good series though
4 Different But Same Stars
I will warn you that this is not reunited and everything is a perfect book. There are challenges Tack and Juliet leave the island separately and try to go back to living like they were but couldn’t they had changed so much. I loved Tack but he also still made mistakes but I think his love for Juliet was real and so deep. Juliet learns more about how she was deceived and has so many questions about what was real. It was a perfect ending to a book that consumed me for two days. These two are like dynamite together.
“I’ll find you.”
Broken promises…
Broken hearts…
It’s taken 22 months and 17 days, to finally have the chance to ask, “Why?”
For Tack, their story is not over…
“Take what you need. Take everything.”
But it will take, time, patience, understanding, acceptance and most importantly, trust and forgiveness. Trust is a fragile thing and for Tack and Juliet, theirs was always one step forward, two steps back.
This story is page after page of thought provoking emotion and trust me, I felt it all. My heart hurt so much for these two as they clawed toward their forever. The heart wants, what the heart wants, but as we all know, the head can sometimes get in the way. Unfortunately, it wasn’t always just their heads getting in their way, outside interference and betrayal is an ugly thing. Until they took that final leap and let love win…together.
“What are you doing here?”
“Finding you.”
What a great conclusion to Juliet and Tack’s story. Man oh man was this one super spicy. They were apart for 2 years, let’s just say I’m not sure how that girl can walk after they got reunited. They really love each other, a lot. There were a couple of parts in the story where I thought both Juliet and Tack were being drama llama’s but they got over themselves and got back to each other. But having said that, I really enjoyed this duet and liked that it was something different.
Return to the Island is a brilliant conclusion to Tack & Juliet’s story, I was thrilled even though it made me an emotional reck that it took them many struggles to trust & forgive each other before seeking a future with one another. Though it may be hard but redemption and forgiveness comes & is granted because of love. I hope you decide to take this to the Island with Tack & Juliet it want be easy but definitely worth your reading time. Once again I want to thank the very talented L.B. Dunbar for a beautiful story
This book is a follow up from Redemption Island with Tack and Juliet’s story. Island Duet are worth reading with a great HEA.
What a revelation this series, and this book was! Bold, shocking, and completely engrossing. I am not saying a word about plot or characters, only saying I fell in love with these characters and this book. Read it!
Return to the Island – Island Duet # 2 – L.B. Dunbar
Re-demp-tion (noun) The action of saving or being saved from sin, evil or error
I do not recommend this book as a stand-alone. I think it’s super important to read Redemption Island (Book #1) first.
Tack & Juliet “went to the island to be redeemed for (they’d) done. Little did (they) know how it would play out”. Now that they have returned to real life they have to figure out what is real and what was in their imagination; Have they both come back “different, but the same”?
I am so grateful that I did not have to wait years for the conclusion to this Duet. It was satisfying in its conclusion even though one of the characters had me (figuratively) pulling my hair out due to their stupidity. I mean come on… THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!!! Grrrr This was an emotional journey that I read from cover to cover to see how it would all turn out. From the chapter headings that create more drama and intrigue, to the nuanced behavior of Juliet and her friends I was NOT disappointed.
I absolutely recommend this duet and think it should be moved up on everyone’s TBR list.
