Jubilant, he joyfully prepares for their departure, only to learn that his family, grown comfortable in the pagan culture of Babylon, wants to remain. Zechariah, … remain.

Loved the story of hope amidst difficulty and obedience to God.
Return to Me transports the reader back to the time when the Jewish exiles returned to the Promised Land after 70 years in Babylon. I appreciate how the author combined the biblical accounts with historical research and imagination to create a work of fiction that helps the reader understand better the challenges the exiles faced when they …
I love these biblical historical stories. They make the bible stories come to life in a real way. I don’t think people of that time were really much different than people today. Also a reminder to not let the ‘idols’ of this world rule in our lives.
For those interested in Biblically based books, Return To Me, is excellent. It weaves history with real life characters and their emotions, as the Jews return to Jerusalem after being released from bondage in Babylon and their desire to rebuild the destroyed temple, The family involed will wrap around your emotions and heart.
Lynn Austin is a very talented writer. This was the first in a series of three books about the return of God’s people to Jerusalem after being released from captivity in Babylon. I’ve read the entire series. The characters are three dimensional and very believable. The stories that the characters are involved in are so fascinating, and Lynn is …

Tremendous read!
This book puts you there…with the characters. Compelling.
Enjoyable read of a period that was good to think about. I especially appreciated the different responses that Jewish people would have had to leaving Babylon. Their thoughts and reactions were realistically portrayed.
Plan to read more of the series and more of Austin’s biblical fiction.
For the person who wants to read the Bible or understand more of God’s word and plan in their life, this book is excellent! Lynn Austin makes the stories and lessons of the Bible come alive in today’s world. Her characters are sympathetically as real and filled with human flaws and misgivings as all of us. The Bible need no longer be a boring, …
The book is listed as fiction because the author had to fabricate some of the conversations. But the story is taken from the Bible and the author has taken great pains to tell the story with total accuracy. The story is about the Jewish nation that had spent years in captivity in Babylon. The King set them free to return to Jerusalem and …

Started off very slow and had some difficulty getting into it, midway, it got much better and I would of given it a 4 star if not for the slow beginning.
