Wow, this is my first read by this author and it certainly packed a punch. I spent half the book in tears, sad tears, happy tears..such a tale of ‘feels’.
I fell in love with all these characters and look forward to more from them. Such a traumatic experience they went through, coming out the other side with one less. Perhaps a different perspective on life and how short it can be made the survivors tight.
This is mainly about the younger sister of one of them, her coming to terms with her own loss. Six years later she is an adult and it’s time for closure.
These young men are all wounded, whether physically or emotionally. This is their tale of survival and the aftermath of a tragic event.
I loved it…I hated the ending, damn cliff hanger lol…but that’s ok I’m reading it a few years later and there are more released already.

I am conflicted with this review. I actually enjoyed the book but I hated the ending. A senseless act turns a vacation and chance to unwind before hitting the road to becoming working stiffs, into a nightmare. Six years later it’s time to honor an agreement between friends and Faith is ready to see them again. I loved the story although I did go back to check the chapter heading a few times to make sure of who’s pov. I love the way the author did it. I want to say it’s an emotional story but for some reason there was a disconnect. Up until the last part of the book it’s actually a clean read, a good strong story and bam. It kinda throws off the book because it was totally unnecessary at least as graphic a scene. In my opinion it almost felt like the author added it and the detail to lengthen the book, and then it just ends leaving tons unresolved.
I want to give some lead way to this new to me author because I like the style of her writing and this is the beginning of a series. You do get drawn in by the characters and knowing what brought them to this point. Each of them seeing something different that day. Each one with their own demons and nightmares. Some with guilt. I will be getting the next book, well I bought it before I finished this one so I will continue. This isn’t a standalone.
I found Emma James and her books through a Kindle Unlimited reading challenge. I was able to chat with her and her her take on how she writes. She puts so much into each and every book she writes that it really intrigued me. I loved the sound of her stories and immediately began A Little Faith. I found it difficult to put the book down. I tend to get into the characters of a book and tend to get drawn into them. I loved all of the main characters in this book and even some of the side characters. I look forward to getting to know all better.
I liked the multiple point of views that the book is told in. With so many point of views, it had the possibility to get confusing. I thought Ms. James did a good job of keeping it clear. I also felt like the way Ms. James writes makes you feel what the characters are feeling be it fear, sadness, pain, or desire. There were many images presented in the book that I would love to see in real life.
I can’t wait until I’m able to continue the series!
