4 star Review Resuscitate Me By Leddy Harper
Audio Review:
Leddy Harper is a relatively new author to me, however I have listened to several books narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel.
The duet narration from Tor Thom and Charley Ongel was good and enhanced my enjoyment of the story as they blended and played off one another so well.
This was a well written story that had me interested from the first to the last chapter. The characters were strong and I found them easy to relate too.
Resuscitate Me was the 5th book that I read by Leddy Harper, but has always been one of my favorites. The first two chapters of the first meeting between Kara Carter (age 25) and Carter Hastings (age 36) is so entertaining that I found myself wanting to read the entire book in one sitting. In fact I am reading the book again right now. She is a kindergarten teacher visiting her sister-in-law for the summer. She is rock climbing in a gym owned by Carter, when she falls head over heels (literally) in “lust” with him. She actually faints in embarrassment and can’t even correct his false impression that her name is Kara, not Tara. Once he says that Tara was a beautiful name, she wanted to change her name. Lets just leave it at they both made a lasting impression on each other, and I highly recommend reading this book. Fate has brought them together, but with a limitation on their time together. Carter decides they should have a “friendship” but no “relationship.” Well, then he decides a friendship with benefits! Fate is not through with them yet. When their time limit comes to an end. How can you desert someone when they “resuscitate” you? When you feel like you can no longer breathe without them.
Wow…. What can I say? Leddy Harper has done it again. She has sucked me into Carter & Kara’s world. Leddy cannot write a book with out making you feel all the emotions the characters are feeling.
I am not sure where Ms. Harper had been hiding the hot and sexy that is stored in her head but I about fell out of my chair when I read their first intimate scene. You go girl!
As I was reading I felt like I was a fly on the wall of the rooms they were in and don’t get me started on all the tinglies certain scenes caused. Sometimes I felt like a ping pong ball with their back and forth banter. Their pull toward each other and their push away from each other made me want to bop both of them upside their heads.
I enjoyed getting to know Carter & Kara. They are as dysfunctional and awesome as some of the people I know.
Leddy Harper I am really glad that Carter decided not to be a pilot. We can’t have that hunk of sin screaching like a 5 year old school girl when a flight gets bumpy… Plus being a pilot he would have never met Kara and then this book wouldn’t be awesome.
