The past is only a heartbeat awayRight from the start she knew it wasn’t about love.As the youngest daughter of a wealthy family in medieval England, Lady Jane of Acton has been betrothed to Gerard Twyfford, the son of the Earl of Roseworth, since she was a baby. A dynastic marriage such as theirs is about power and property, not love but even so Jane desperately yearns for her husband’s … husband’s approval. But Gerard’s rare visits to her bed are for the sole purpose of producing an heir, and she’s even failed at that. How can Jane win Gerard over when she cannot even be the wife he needs her to be?
Would one last chance be enough? Could he make things right, even now?.
Ged Twyfford doesn’t know what he’s missing in life. A powerful vampire, he’s lived for close to six hundred years and seen a lot during his time but his past still haunts him. On a whim, he purchases Roseworth castle, the keep he used to rule as lord. Mostly in ruins now, Roseworth is a shell of what it was when he was still a mortal but Ged is determined to make it his home again. Maybe this is what he’s been missing, maybe he needs a place to belong at last.
When a woman emerges from the lake beside his castle, looking and sounding a lot like the wife he lost over five centuries ago, Ged assumes she’s a witch out to dupe him. But what if she is who she claims to be? Ged finally realizes just what he had, and just how precious to him was the wife he betrayed all those hundreds of years ago.
Do they really have a second chance or is it just too late to start over?

This is a fun story to read. The time travel aspect is very well done. I loved the changes between both Jane and Ged. The story is fascinating and really holds your attention. I did not want to put this book down. The historical pieces are also well done and obviously well researched.
This book has it all. Medieval times, kings, queens, and all the royalty, arranged marriage, a forbid able mother, a father with not much backbone, a complete lack of communication between a husband and wife, a philandering husband, death, vampires, time travel, BDSM, and unrequited love that survives for five hundred years. This was absolutely glorious and left no doubt in my mind that it was one of the best vampire, second-chance romances I’ve ever read.
Resurrection- Ashe Barker

Lovely story
It’s got vampires, time travel, little surprises and spicy times galore. I loved how all all the different elements came together (especially the time travel/vampire aspects). The ending was just perfect, tying the whole story, both past and present, together.
I thought this was a great story. Very well written with a great flow and interesting plot. I loved the characters and found them well developed. I look forward to reading more by this author. I would recommend reading.

A second chance at love and life
—>>> Lady Jane has been doing everything in her power to delay being by her husband’s side in his castle, but the time had finally come. She performed her duty as the Lady of Roseworth and excelled at it quite finely. What she was sadly lacking was the intimacy and partnership from her very own husband, Gerard. One devastating event leads to the discovery of another and then Lady Jane is never to be seen again, until she is found beside the very same lake on her property, but now five centuries later…and her husband has changed more than she could have comprehended from the depraved cad he once was.
An amazing story has been spun here, mixing the historical with the modern English veins, as well as the paranormal, packed with details and interesting twists uniting their pasts and futures as Jane is patiently navigated into life in a brand new world with the man who needed more than one lifetime to evolve into the man she deserved.
I will warn do not start this book at bedtime as once I started reading I was not putting it down until I had finished reading it. Lady Jane of Acton and Ged Twyfford, the son of the Earl of Roseworth’s story. I know I will be reading this book again. I was looking forward to this book, it has it all regency, vampires, and time travel what could be better? Nothing! This book is a home run it was fantastic. I loved how Ashe Barker kept Jane with her vocabulary in period, and Ged up to date on things modern. I loved the imagery that was written. I also enjoyed the fact that our time traveler had someone who understood where she was coming from and not just dumped in modern times to fend for herself. I loved the big plot twist the hook that made this book a wonderful read. The ending was not what I thought it would be.

Loved this story. The story starts in the fifteenth century during the time when Gerard and Jane are married. Events happens where Jane disappears and is considered dead. A few years later, Gerard is turned as a vampire and now the time is currently 2013. A woman appears on his property, unconscious and in need of help. At this point the past and the present meet which is a surprise to both of them. The events in this story are very well written which kept by absolute attention waiting to see what happens next. Jane has come thru time to the present and brought with her a surprise that even she is not aware of. This is an amazing story and there is so much happening, that I was totally spellbound up to the very end and even then wish it had continued. I would highly recommend this book as a great read.

What a beautiful story this is.
It is well plotted, the pace is just right, and the characters are engaging.
I shed more than a few tears for Jane in her early married life, and, frankly, Gerard did not deserve her.
The second chance they are given has a touch of the paranormal about it but they seize it, and Gerard does not make the same mistakes twice.
A few more tears were shed along the way to a satisfying conclusion.
I started Resurrection with the intention of reading a couple of chapters today and then continuing it tomorrow. Big miscalculation on my part. I’m not really one for time travel stories, or books about vampires. For some reason though, the blurb on this book appealed to me, piqued my interest. Once I started reading this unique story, I just could not put it down until I got to the very end of the epilogue.
I am struggling with what to write about this story without accidentally giving you spoilers for taking away any of the experience of having it unfold for you. I will say that I started out loathing Gerard, the male lead, later to be known as Ged. So much came to light after he was reunited with Jane more than 5 centuries later, that he really became a character with whom I could to some degree empathize. I thought Jane was a great character. She had to deal with so much in such a condensed period of time, and she never lost her spirit.
After they re-connect in modern times, Ged and Jane find out that they are actually ideal intimate partners, perfect D/s counterpoints to one another. They also find out that and lack of communication cost them happiness their marriage originally , and they are not going to waste the chance they were miraculously given this time. The last few chapters were dramatic and emotional, but then really so was the whole book. Take a chance on this one like I did and I’m sure you will not be disappointed!

This is a very interesting historical book. An original story which had me hooked after the first couple of chapters. At the beginning of the story we are introduced to the major players, Gerard and Jane and of course Richard. Richard is the factual historical figure. All will be revealed at the end of the book regarding him. Jane has been betrothed to Gerard since she was 2 years old. They marry but it does not seem to be a love match. Certain events occur and Jane falls into the lake after hearing and seeing bad things. Jump forward to the present time and Gerard or Ged as he is now known as is a vampire! I know, exciting isn’t it. Jane returns from the dead and as you can imagine things take a different turn. These two characters I fell in love with, such an intriguing story and then add a pregnancy in the mix and this makes one hell of a heart stopping time in the book. Loved this book and Ashe Barker is always coming up with original storylines and this one did not disappoint.

I had so much fun reading this book. It was a compilation of genres, and I have never read something like this before, so it was a treat for me. I loved Jane and Gerard. It was nice to see the transformation of Gerard from a self-centered, entitled prick to a caring and thoughtful husband. I loved their journey towards happiness.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
What a great book. I normally don’t read vampire or time travel books but since Resurrection was written by Ashe Barker I knew it would be good and boy was it. It is truly a delightful story full of hot sex to be sure but also full of historical information and information about vampires. I especially liked the fact that they used blood from the blood bank and not from attacking humans lol. Ged was so gentle with Jane and so patient and their love story was so sweet even if he was a Dom. It was really interesting to see the modern world through the eyes of someone from the fifteenth century and how they might view such things as stores and modern medicine. A great read and one I highly recommend.
ONE EPIC ADVENTURE
Blazing blizzard! Ashe just blew me clean out of the water with this thrillingly wicked journey, dropping the bomb and lowering the boom, keeping you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging tempest chocked-full of daunting mishaps and baffling circumstances, reeling from the treacherous trials and hard fought tribulations, noting the shocking twists and startling turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Restrictions are amplified and sustained, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, igniting revelations with such intensity and exuberance, riding the currents and breaching waves, blasting this jewel into a frenzy with a mind-blowing realization. The complexity of the characters are realistic, authentic and original with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transform into formidable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Ashe, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
