A deadly disease has spread through the Blooming Courts of Tuatha. The louloudi are meant to flourish for a thousand years before they return to the Earth. Death has been a distant foe for so long, no one spares it any thought. Until now. As sickness sweeps through the kingdom, with the cure always just out of reach, the courts have never been filled with so many blossoms. Even in death, they … in death, they breathe life.
Ila Slystina has been raised in the confines of the Orchidasi Kingdom, wanting for nothing, hidden away like some sparkling treasure, but she dreams of so much more. When she’s caught returning from a forbidden trip, her mother, the Orchidasi Queen, punishes her the only way she sees fit.
Ila is sent on her season far earlier than she should be. Now, she’s being paraded through the twelve courts like a prized cow and she wants nothing more than to escape.
Her mother wants her to collect power.
But Ila finds herself collecting hearts instead.
With death surrounding her on every side, and new dangers sprouting up at every turn, can Ila learn to balance the mischief that sings in her soul with her duty to her people?
After all, the courts aren’t the only things that must bloom . . .

Oh my god……this book hooked me in within the first couple pages!!!! Absolutely amazing. I LOVE Ila and am loving seeing be become her own person not stuck under other peoples thumbs. The romance may be some of the best I have read, the feeling between the characters is just relatable and real. You can feel how they feel. Cannot wait for book 2!
There is something seductive about this series, even when it doesn’t make sense. We are, quite literally, dropped into the narrative – and spend the rest of the time trying to catch up. The authors do the readers the respect of not hand feeding the details or world building, yet there also seemed to be little guidance, nor explanation regarding the expansive rules that seem to infuse this universe. Once it starts to become more clear, the plot takes off and things become more interesting – and heated.
Over all, I really enjoyed it, even if I was left baffled more often than I would like. The heat between Ila and the humans is explosive, if a touch misplaced. For now, they seem to just be place holders in the tale, a necessary addition that stumbles through the chapters without really holding onto anything – at least not yet. I am writing this review from the perspective beyond Book 3, so I can tell you that they WILL play a stronger role…. just not so much in Book 1. Here, they seem placed to expose Ila’s rebellious nature, which in turn just annoys Olis… so, good times all around. And speaking of Olis, I rather love that grouchy guard. Can I keep him?
As for the actual narrative and story flow, it jives only mildly with the blurb – at least the first line. There IS a sickness permeating the courts, yet the happenstance feels like a toss away point in Book 1, an introduction, if you will. Right now, in these pages, its hard to see just HOW important those toss away petals really are. It’s a well done nod to tension building, and the foundation to the point is well done.

I have no words to express my love for this book. I love these two authors and when they get together something magical happens. I’ve been dying to start reading this series from the moment it was announced. I knew that it was going to be phenomenal, but as usual, the author have surpassed all of my highest expectations!
The authors have created a world I want get get lost in. I have no idea where the inspiration came from but I have never read anything like this. The world starts in one faerie, or louloudi as they call themselves, court where the main character is born, and expands throughout the story into several more kingdoms, and there is every indication that there will be more. The world is beautiful, and each court is beautiful in its own way. The author’s detailed colourful descriptions made me see all the courts in their full glory. It felt like I was there.
The main character Ila, is the crown princess of the Orchidasi court, the ruling court, and she is the daughter of the coldhearted queen prone to intrigue and cruelty. Ila is a beautiful troublemaker who does not conform to the societal and imposed norms. She does not fit in, not she wants to fit in. She yearns for freedom and free life choices. Fortunately, she is accompanied by her best friend and partner in crime Cerulea, who came to her as a companion as a child and they grew up together. I say fortunately, because had it not been for Cerulea, Ila would be alone in the world due to her uniqueness. I have to admit that I fell in love with Ila right from the beginning. She is pretty amazing, and Cerulea is a best kind of friend anyone could ever have.
The story itself is freaking amazing, the plot so complex and full of various events, twists and turns, some completely expected and logical, and some I didn’t see coming. That was the best part, the unpredictability of it. There is so much intrigue, loved it. Then there are beautiful calm moments filled with love and friendship and very unexpected alliances. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that there are some very heated moments in this book. I mean scorching hot.
This book won my heart from the start and I fell in love with the series. I could not be happier to know that there are four more books coming. I cannot wait to see what kind of trouble Ila gets herself into and I cannot wait what kind of intrigue is coming, because it seems to be something epic. Just when I thought I could not love the authors more.
Books need to be read in order: Resurrect: A High Fantasy Reverse Harem (The Blooming Courts Book 1), Sprout: A High Fantasy Reverse Harem (The Blooming Courts Book 2), Flourish: A High Fantasy Reverse Harem (The Blooming Courts Book 3), Emerge: A High Fantasy Reverse Harem (The Blooming Courts Book 4), Blossom: A High Fantasy Reverse Harem (The Blooming Courts Book 5).
Resurrect is the first in this high fantasy from the writing duo and I’m really loving it, so far.
Since this is the first book, what I really loved about was the great, detailed, slow world building. I loved it. So much. I’ve never been such a huge fan of high fantasy, and I loved how the authors put their effort to slowly paint this beautiful world that I feel like I’m living in it. As for the characters, I like them but I know that, since this is the first book, I’d grow to love them as the story progresses. I can’t wait to read the next book!
I really enjoyed Resurrect. Ila is just learning how much her mother has held her back by restricting her movements. Reminds me a little of Spaceballs when Lonestar tells Princess Vespa, “Welcome to REAL LIFE!” She slowly begins to grow, but is clearly still naive. Her relationships with her men vary greatly from fast-burn to slow and cautious, but they’re all hot.
This book was magical! These two authors are both excellent storytellers on their own, but you put them together and magic truly happens. Princess Ila has stolen my heart. She’s headstrong, rebellious, yet naive about the realm she’s meant to rule-and wants nothing to do with. Above all, she’s kind-hearted and determined not to be like her mother. As she sets out to travel through the 12 courts, she meets some remarkable people and grows both as a person and a princess. There’s an entire gamut of emotions in this book; frustration, sadness, love, anger, unmitigated joy, wonder, fear and awe. I lived through them all right along with Ila. This book was so well written, with such vivid descriptions that I can still “see” the courts Ila and company visited. I’m so glad that there will be 4 more books, because stuff needs to happen-no spoilers here so if you want to know what ‘stuff’ I’m talking about, get this book! It is a truly magical and epic fantasly.
Girls, you did it!! You worked your magic again and get us into this awesome world in a way that we wont be able to get out of it, nor want to. I love the relationship between Ila and Cerulea and their great friendship. And the courts? I wish they really existed so I can visit them!!! Cant wait to read more of this series!!!
I must say one of the best books this year. You have to take the journey and meet Ila and the men who hold her heart. This is an amazing story, beautifully written. You will feel as if you are right there with Ila, through all her travels, and adventures. There is romance, action, adventure, danger, and some steamy. And when you reach the end, you will beg for more.
Kendra Moreno and Poppy Woods did an amazing job creating a new world that pulls you straight in and makes you feel as if you are there visiting each of the courts along side Ila and her companions. I love everything about this book from the emersive world to each of the characters’ personalities. Everything is very well developed and I cannot wait to read book 2 and see what happens next!
If you are looking for an amazing fantasy book, look no further cause this book is it. So I started this book wondering where I was going to be transported to. Well, I was surprised to find that I am traveling in fairy land. Ila is a fairy princess who likes to cause a little trouble. So then her mother decides to send her on her season. Which is to go to several courts and maybe find a match. Well on this journey we get an amazing detail of other fairy lands and meet new friends. Oh there are some emotional moments through out this book and I got teary eyed. Ila is learning more about herself. However, something has started happening and now we have to wait to find out. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
The Blooming Courts is a new world created by Kendra and Poppy revolving around a beautiful fae race called the louloudi. At the center of the story is Ila, the princess of the ruling Orchidasi courts. She is not your average Orchidasi, something that becomes apparent when she is forced into her season early. She must visit the other eleven courts of Tuatha in an effort to build relationships and explore her lands. Ila fights for her independence from her overbearing mother, her unpredictable powers, and the love that blooms between her and her men. Ila is the badass fae heroine I didn’t know I needed! There will be a total of five books in the series, so this does end on a cliffhanger, but it is SO worth the wait! Pick this up today
OHMYGODS!!!! I absolutely love this book so hard!!! It was so unique and original. It captivated me from the first to the last page.
You’ve never seen fey like these before, they truly are of nature. There’s orchid fey and lots of other type of plant fey. I love the way that each court is completely unique. Ila, the mc, is headstrong and mischievous, sometimes a bit reckless but completely endearing. I look forward to watching her character grow. Oh and just wait until the waterfall scene. Hihi
Now hurry up and go one-click this book, it’s time to start a fantastical journey into Tuatha. I promise you won’t regret it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Wow, I was totally blown away by this book. I absolutely loved the story line. I really felt like I was getting to know the characters. Princess Ila is so complex and totally not what one would expect.
The beautiful written descriptions of the Basid, Crassula and Lunari Courts left me feeling like I was there. I could close my eyes and see myself in each of these courts. And how could I choose which one to stay in…. I can’t. And to think, there are more courts to explore.
This book is full of mischief, adventure and action, friendships and love. I enjoyed getting to know each of these characters while reading the book. Ila’s character really spoke to me as she was trying to figure out who she was and to be who she wanted to be (not who her mom wants her to be).
And King Torren….. Totally swept away by him.
I can’t wait to read what happens next.
I loved everything about this book. I loved the world building it’s simply amazing, and I loved the creatures and places described. This story is well written, with compelling characters, and filled with drama, adventure, fairies, and is such a wonderful story. I can’t wait to read the next book.
the naive princess learning the ways of the world and slowly maturing. very descriptive in world building that i was able to imagine everything as i read the story. the way things started and how it went on to the plots really seems like something from a movie i would watch. i enjoyed the different characters and knowing theres 4 more books to this.. im really curious on how the author will take this storyline
I’m in love with the idea of Blooming Courts. It is a fresh idea that is unlike anything I’ve ever read! The details given by the authors allow some amazing imagery to come into my head and I feel like I’m inside of the book. The sex scenes are steaming hot! However, I feel like the having the humans in this story is the only thing keeping it RH and those characters feel a little thrown in to me. I’m hoping there’s more to them as the series continues.
fabulous!
Poppy and kendra have made a world that will allow many more books to come. The book did take alittle bit to warm up and for me to understand. But once everything came together I really enjoyed it. Even made me tear up a bit.
My favorite character has got to be the ila’s bestfriend. She’s there for her, encourages her rebellious nature and sticks up for her…all the makings of a good friend. I liked the humans in the story but at the same time they also seemed like a separate story. I did not like her guard but he seems like the type of character you sent suppose to like.
Welll, this book was amazingly magical! Seriously. I was blown away with this story and the way Kendra and Poppy were able to create such a magical story that makes you feel as if you are taking Princess Ila’s journey with her.
There’s adventure, drama, fairies, steam, oh and a really hot and magical waterfall scene that you are not ready for. Talk about sexy!! Overall, I was so pleased with this story and think it is a wonderful start to this series. I really appreciated how we saw Ila grow as both a princess and a person and I cannot wait to see what is in store for her in book 2!
Dive into this magical fantasy world today! Plus it’s on KU right now so you really have no excuse!
Real talk. I want sure about this book when I started reading it. I absolutely cannot stand young, immature, rebellious female main characters. I usually find them ridiculous, unlikable, and unreadable. Ila was all of those things. BUT here’s the thing, it worked! It worked with the storyline about who she is, why she did what she did, and why she thinks the way she does. The authors really set her up for growth throughout the series, and I actually look forward to seeing that. Ila has a really good heart and wants to learn and do the right thing. Her terrible mother just wasn’t the right person to teach her that, but these new people in her life will.
I liked how this book started out with a sexy bang (literally and figuratively). It moved into fantastic world building. I loved all of the places Ila went and the people she met and the situation she got herself into. The characters were so likable had such distinct personalities. When a lot of characters are introduced in a story, they can sometimes get lost and their personalities diluted. Not this book! The authors did such a great job painting a unique picture for each character. It was like the Wizard of Oz on steroids. I cannot wait for the next installment!
