Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess who called a corrupt kingdom home sweet home. Protected and sheltered from the worst the world had to offer, she fell in love with the crumbling city that burned and blazed around her. Every dirty corner, every scary shadow, found a place within her heart. So did a man who was violent and dangerous, just like the streets she claimed as her own. … claimed as her own.
He was all business and brutality, except when it came to her. With her, he was calm, caring, and heartbreakingly patient.
He warned her over and over that he wasn’t the man for her, but she refused to listen. She never expected either the streets or their enforcer to hurt her, since she’d given her heart so completely to both.
She should have known the streets in the Point were always going to be savage, and so was the man committed to keeping control of them in the hands of criminals and bloody kingpins.
Blindsided by a betrayal which cut so deeply she was sure the wounds would never heal, the princess fled the home she loved and the man who broke her heart. Throwing away her rusted, twisted crown was supposed to help her forget. All it did was make her long for everything she left behind. She told herself she would never go back, but in this tormented kingdom, family is everything. Eventually, she has no choice but to return.
While she was gone, the people who loved her worked hard to make the city safe, and the man who destroyed her sank deeper into the darkness. Going back shouldn’t feel like surrender… but it does. As this pretty princess hovers on the edge of the unknown, the past attacks with a vengeance. It’s a good reminder that puppy love eventually grows up and turns into something with sharp teeth and one hell of a bite.
She never asked for the keys to the kingdom. She’d much rather go out and build her own.

Jay out did herself once again. This was the perfect ending to such a wonderful series. I at first did not know if I would like Bax, but half way through his book and I was hooked on the Point for the rest of the series for Welcome to the Point and Breaking Point. Respect tied up so many loose ends from the previous books and just was out of the world amazing. Booker and Karsen have been through a world wind of emotional turmoil from the previous books and to see the two come together to battle the world their way is the perfect ending to the characters I have come to love. Jay, you took a bad place and made happily ever afters that most don’t think can ever exist in such a place. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
Just another great read. This was definitely the ending I wanted for this series and then some. I’m sad to see this series go but I’m so excited for what Jay has in store. I loved the chemistry between Booker and Karsen and just couldn’t get enough of there story. I loved how the other characters story were ended as well and Bax was definitely my favorite out of all the boys. so I was super happy to see him. I also couldnt get enough of Booker and Karsen’s ending. Just love love loved it!!
You guys. This book. I have no words. I started reading it and only left my chair to refill my glass of water. And even then, I carried the book with me. This is the book I’ve been waiting for since Better When He’s Bold and it fulfilled every want I had and even some I didn’t know I had. Karsen and Booker were everything I could have wanted in a reunited couple. From the prologue, I cried my way through this book. Jay Crownover does an excellent job of creating the unspoken desire between Karsen and Booker, immoral and untouchable in the earlier books, and finally allowed to come to fruition in Respect. I can’t even describe the emotions Jay elicits in this book. Just read this quote from Karsen’s POV in the prologue:
They called it puppy love. It wasn’t. To me, it was a vicious kind of love, filled with teeth and claws that I could feel digging at my insides every single time someone patted me on the head and told me how young I was, how much life I had yet to live. This love was rabid, and I was tired of having it on a lease. I wanted it free, wanted to let it sink its razor-sharp fangs into the man who had awoken the primal need inside of me. It was only fair he felt the same kind of crushing bite and painful pressure around his heart that I did every single day.
Circumstances force Booker and Karsen apart as she leaves the Point to attend college at the beginning of the book. I will say, I quite enjoyed the cameo of Saints of Denver characters in this book, especially in the form of Karsen’s roommate. However, as Karsen is ready to go out into the adult world, although The Point didn’t really allow for innocence, Booker pushes back into her life. Booker. Wow. He’s officially my favorite Point hero. How could he not with lines like these:
If I could, I would kiss every pain she had into oblivion.
She was meant for sunshine and sweetness. She didn’t thrive at night, and I had no right to ask her to hide in the dark with me and all of my warring demons.
Watching the bruiser of the Point fall to his knees for Karsen was even more satisfying than watching Nassir fall in love. His devotion for Karsen was pure and their attraction steamy and sensual and yet neither of those are a contradiction. Rather, they accurately describe the pure worship and respect Booker feels for Karsen. By the end of this book, I was crying happy tears combined with sad over the book and the series ending.
It was time to set her free.
A beautiful and redemptive farewell to The Point.
Noah Booker and Karsen Carter were a long time coming. It is only fitting that the battered and scarred behemoth met his love in the princess with the rusted crown.
Like every couple before them, Booker and Karsen had lives that were tattered and broken. They both managed to get out and start over new, but not at the expense of losing each other. After many years and time spent hurt and deceived by people they loved and admired, did they finally find their way back to each other. With each other they found understanding.
Booker wasn’t the sins and hurts from his past. He was more than his scars, more than the gatekeeper of The Point. He was a man who had to fight for everything he had, most importantly, his life. Karsen was a girl who’s family life crumpled under greed, selfishness and lies. She had a sister who went above and beyond to shelter and protect her but went a little too far. What Karsen’s sister never realized and what we got the pleasure to experience, was Karsen was tough. She was formidable in her unwavering love for Booker and love for her city. Given the chance, she was able to take all that she learned from the heart of The Point and spread that redemption around.
This story, like every other book in this series isn’t an easy read. There is innocence lost, their is depravity, there is filth and grime and terror. But underneath it all is an understanding. There is love unfettered. There is love fought for and deserved. There is fortitude and perseverance.
The pulse of The Point thrives from these flawed yet courageous characters. Thank you to Jay Crownover for giving life, light and love to the dark.
Who was waiting 3 years for this book like me? I’ve wanted to read this story since Better When He is Bold!! Jay delivered a perfect story about the Point, but it is so much more!
A story about betrayal, love, self discovery and forgiveness, it is different from the previous stories on the Point. Karsen is different from the other heroines, she is unique, strong and determined. I think I can say she is stronger than most, and predestined to greatness.
Booker, oh Booker… Or should I say Noah? He is so much more than I thought! He deserves everything he got and he made the ultimate sacrifice for Karsen. My heart hurts only thinking about everything he has been through. And on that note, I’d love to be on his shoes when he meets with a certain blond… I felt vindicated!
I know that this one is supposed to be the last book in the Point, but I’d love if Jay can go back there some day to write more about this not any close to perfect place.
This is one of those books I’ve been waiting on ever since I finished the last book in The Breaking Point series. Booker and Karsen always seemed to me like they were destined to be together and I was so happy when Jay Crownover decided to write their story.
I wanted so badly to fly through this book; to devour every second of it, but then at the same time I didn’t want it to end. It was full of emotion, passion, intensity and heart. Booker and Karsen have baggage, not only between the two of them, but individually as well. The way that this story unfolded (I don’t want to give anything away) was absolutely amazing. I knew there were going to be complications for these two, but I could have never foreseen exactly what it was that caused those issues.
For anyone that has been a Point fan throughout this series, this definitely is a book you’re going to love. If you haven’t met the men and women from the Point yet, what are you waiting for?! These bad boys are going to steal your heart and you’re going to want to root for them as they try to stay alive and find their personal peace. I will say, if you haven’t read the Point books, this one is better enjoyed after reading the rest of the books. It will make a lot more sense.
Kudos to Jay Crownover for a fantastic finish to this series. I’m going to miss these guys and gals!
First we had Nassir and Keelyn, then we had Stark and Noe, and now Booker and Karsen, each story/couple becoming my favourite. Booker however, has always held a special place in my heart (right alongside Bax from The Point series). I’ve loved the Breaking Point series and I’ve been impatient for Booker and Karsen’s story, and, as usual, Jay Crownover did not disappoint. With an unexpected start, which I have to say broke my heart in two, we then fast forward 4 years and get to the real meat of this thrilling, sexy Breaking Point finale. We learn what makes Booker tick and how he became the person he was today. We learn that Karsen is a strong, independent woman who will not be walked over, by anyone (Jay always manages to produce kick@$$ female characters, and Karsen is up there with the best of them). The sexual chemistry between Booker and Karsen is off the charts, how Jay managed to make the scenes both romantic and dirty at the same time left me in awe and blushing. My love for Booker meant this book was always going to be a favourite of mine, but with the added bonus of the rest of The Breaking Point gang this story quickly catapulted to the top spot. If I could give a book more than five stars, this would be it.
I waited what seems like forever for Karson’s & Booker’s story. It was totally worth the wait.
For me Jay brings her characters to life & it seems like you are catching up with old friends as you read what’s been happening in their lives.
I had been so mad at Booker for his treatment of Larson, but as I continued to read I slowly felt so bad for him. I wanted to hate Race for all the lost time the two lovers lost. But you really can’t hate the blonde Adonis. I love how the past intertwines with the present. Seeing old friends who are staying strong in their lives & loves is the best.
We have had the pleasure of watching Karsen mature into a women throughout this series. There is no better couple for this finale. Booker deserves someone who loves him as strongly as Karsen. You find yourself rooting for the big guy! If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it is Booker!
What a great way to end a series!! This book was everything I needed when reading about Booker. He’s my new favorite Point man!!
I had been waiting for the end of this series since Booker and Karsen were introduced. I am so sad to see it come to a close. However, this was the perfect ending. It just might be my favorite Jay book!
Booker and Karsen’s story has finally come to to light. There are moments you want to scream and be completely pissed, cry, be ecstatic, it’s an emotional journey, but well worth the risk. The character development was flawless along with the chemistry between these two. Respect is defiantly a page turner. Jay Crownover has a writing style that is flawless and completely consumes the reader. She was able to finalize the Point series in an eloquent manner, which left the reader at ease. (Even though the die-hard Point fans will never be satisfied)
Another example of the amazing talent Jay Crownover has for writing heart-stopping romance novels for us grown folks. Welcome to the Point series has been a jaw dropping journey of characters who have to face the realities of the real world while not only finding love but learning how to live in it at the same time. Booker and Karsen’s story is a culmination of all the struggles and rewards for putting love above money and power in the Point. Respect showcases Jay’s talent for bringing the reader into the hearts and minds of the characters without using repetitive, cheesey jargon and sayings like so many do.
OMG. Booker and Karsen. Sigh. I have loved The Point and I am going to miss reading about all the people that exist there. Respect was such a perfect finale to this series even though it was bittersweet. I highly recommend Respect but would advise to start at the beginning of the series for the full affect.
I absolutely loved this book! Could not put it down! I’m so happy that Booker and Karsen got their book! I always hoped Jay would write it! This whole series is the best! Sad that this is the end! I will always read any and everything Jay writes!
This book was the perfect ending to The Breaking Point series. Booker and Karsen’s story has been a long time time coming for fans of the Point and Crownover does not disappoint! The storyline grabs you from page 1 and does not let go. I absolutely devoured this book!
Karsen and Booker were the perfect way to end the series. It was an amazing read start to finish. I’ve read the series, so I was familiar with the characters and everything that was happening. But even if you just picked it up without reading the others, you would love it. It will make you want to go back and read the series if you haven’t, that’s how amazing it is. Karsen and Booker take you on their journey of finally finding each other and fighting for the love they deserve.
SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
I’m one of the fans that have been waiting since day one for this book. It did not disappoint. I’m a sucker for May/December romances. This is the type of book where you want to start it when you have no plans for the rest of the day because you will not be able to put the book down until you are finished. And if you’re like me you’ll want to re-read the entire series.
