Being forced to work alongside the new boss—an arrogantly cold Englishman—left me torn between fury and attraction. When Oliver arrives to take over the company, I’m not about to idly stand by while he lays people off. Instead, I burst into his office to confront him, not expecting the man I encounter. He’s every bit the asshole I’d envisioned, but I hadn’t realized he’d be a hottie with a … be a hottie with a panty-melting accent. But that doesn’t matter. I refuse to back down. Refuse to fall for his charm. He has his agenda, and I have mine.
But when my family’s well-kept secret, along with the debt my brother owes, puts my life in danger, there are no other options left.
It’s up to me to pay the price.
But not with money.
Unfortunately, there’s only one person who can help free me from this mess—my new boss.

This is the first book I have read from this author and it won’t be my last.
Really enjoyed reading Lana and Oliver’s story.
The main characters had great chemistry and I loved the secondary characters too. Would love to read more about Lucas and Caleb.
Was great that a few parts of the book kept me guessing.
Perfect enemies to lovers… definitely recommend

This is an entertaining story, I enjoyed the storyline and the interaction between the characters, plenty of sizzle and loads of drama. The characters are incredibly likable and relatable,I found this story quick to read. No cliffhangers. A delightful HEA.
Oliver Thornton is hired to clean up Starr Enterprises, but he’s told that the HR Director, Lana Hill is off-limits from firing, he decides to use her invaluable knowledge as he restructures the company. Not to mention her sassy indignation is quite a turn on. I loved this book and the heat between these two characters.
Oh my goodness this book was so dang good. The banter between these 2 characters is outstanding. I don’t know how you did it but I’ve rarely seen chemistry like that in real life yet you hit it spot on in this one. They give us love, hope, sadness and angry but in the end love is the one to overcome it all. I can’t wait to read Caleb’s story. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
Although a fair number of missing & incorrect words they were insufficient to ruin my reading pleasure. This book tells the story of a beautiful, brave, smart & sassy American woman & her new boss, debonaire, though hiding behind a gruff exterior, British billionaire hired to take over the company & fire incompetent, under performing & salacious staff. Both tried to hide their despair, he with his cheating wife who was killed in a car accident carrying his unborn child, & she with her disrespectful, uncaring & selfish family. Could they unlock their horns as they come to respect each other? Their sexual chemistry cannot be denied & the heart knows what’s right. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This book was sensational. This was my first time reading a book by author Emelia Blair but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Oliver Thornton and Lana Hill were wonderful characters. Oliver is British, handisome, a sharp businessman, and a billionaire. He accepts a temporary position as a Crisis CEO to help recover a company from tanking. Lana Hill is over the HR department and a permanent fixture. Nothing gets by her. She is fiesty, loyal, hot-headed, and fights for what she believes in tooth and nail. At first, Oliver and Lana get along about as well as oil and water. Somewhere along the way they start enjoying each others company. Lana has secrets about her family. Things start going south for her due to her family and she needs help. Oliver is the one to come to her aide. This book is a must read and I highly recommend.
Lana head of HR and Oliver the new CEO banged heads right from the beginning of his revamping Starr Enterprise. Loved this hate to lovers story. The chemistry between these two is so explosive when they finally open their eyes. The background story is great also.

This is the first book I’ve read by Emilia Blair, but certainly won’t be the last. Oliver and Lana are great characters in the office enemies to lovers fast moving tale. Yes, they started on opposite sides, but once they move past that, I loved Oliver’s protective nature. These two are well written, strong, compelling characters. The book is fast paced and well done. I have to say, I’m intrigued by Caleb and would really like to see Lucas and Elise’s story. I love that this book is free with your KU subscription as are many others of Emilia’s. I guess I’ll be busy reading.

I absolutely love this book! It grabbed a hold of me on page 1 and never let go, I just couldn’t put it down! Full of love, lost, sass and family strife, it was a very enjoyable read. Lana is the head of HR for a company that is now owned by her friend Caleb. He has hired Oliver to act as CEO in the beginning to go through and restruction the old company. This puts him at odds with Lana as he will need to fire people she has worked with for the past 5 years. They start off as adversaries, constantly butting heads but soon, there is a fire between them that they are unable to put out. Add in her father and brothers who continue to force men at her and want her to quit her job. Things get tense when her brother Fred brings his friend Matt to her office, wanting her to go out on a date with him. She refuses and the situation escalates. Oliver intervenes on her behalf and sends both men away. As Oliver gets closer to Lana, Matt refuses to back down, even assaulting her in her office. This causes a huge rift between her and her family, especially when she learns exactly why her family keeps pushing her towards Matt. It comes to a head when she finds out the truth, that her family owes Matt a considerable amount of money. She agrees to settle the debt and then wants nothing to do with them. Oliver has been with her through all of this and it’s become clear the two have very strong feelings for each other. They finally give in to them and become a couple, they are able to finally get rid of Matt and Lana is able to start mending her relationship with her family. Oliver even agrees to step in and help when she finds out her father has a serious medical condition. In the end, Lana finds out Oliver isn’t going back home to London, as she feared, when his contract is up and the two move forward to get their happily ever after.

Strong, Gutsy Main Female Character With Strong Broody Alpha Males
This was a well written story, that flowed along smoothly and was a pleasure to read. All the characterizations were clearly done, each unique and easily differentiated from one another. The love story between the fiercely independent and strong main female character and the broody, alpha main male character was not without angst but they forged through obstacles together to attain their happily ever after.

Enemies to lovers, office romance, a steamy encounter and a twist you just don’t see coming. If all of these things are something you look for when you are in search of a new book to read, then Resisting the Brit is meant to be on your TBR list! Lana and Oliver had me laughing and swooning from the very beginning as they started as enemies and in a fast burn type of way, ended up needing each other more than they would have ever liked to admit.
Since this is a new release, I won’t give anything away, but just know that this book had all the things I needed for a good enemies to lovers romance that also has you on the edge of your seat because things aren’t exactly what they seem.
Oliver is the typical growly alpha male that has a past that has him closed off from love. Then Lana bursts into his office and tilts his world in a way he didn’t see coming. I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two, from the very start. Their banter only flames their sparks even more. And once the walls come down, the flames only get bigger and higher.
I do wish the timeline hadn’t been so quick and I felt more of a slow-burn between the two, but that is just a personal preference and doesn’t take away from the book at all. Emelia set these two up to be a force to be reckoned with and the fast burn they have is perfect for them. I like a good slow burn, but Lana and Oliver never stood a chance with each other.
Four stars for this steamy enemies to lovers romance that has a twist you just don’t see coming.
I loved Oliver and Lana’s story. Oliver is hired as a temporary CEO to clean house in the company and goes head to head with Lana the company’s HR who would do anything to protect the employees. There is a instant attraction between these two but they fight to resist because both of them has baggage they are dealing with. One night after a couple drinks guards are let down and they have hot amazing sex but soon after those guards are put back up. After a couple run ins with a family issue Lana finds herself being comforted and saved by Oliver. This was a wonderful and entertaining story as I read these two struggle with there attraction and as Lana deals with all the things going on with work and all the twist and drama her family is putting on her.

Who can resist this Brit? I know I wouldn’t have been able to either. Lana and Oliver entertained me so much. Their back and forth was so much fun mixed in with their attraction that I couldn’t put the book down. I loved Caleb and Lucas as well and now I can’t wait to read more from these friends.

Nice, full-of-action romance. Well worth reading. I enjoyed this book. All the characters were very aptly developed and described. The story is set in the corporate world of business but with the lives of the characters as the pivotal interest. There is plenty of action and conflict but also a lot of steam. Lana and Oliver start their working relationship on rocky grounds which soon develops into an attraction that draws them into a net they can’t escape from. The storyline had some interesting twists that made this novel a page-turner and easy to read. I would gladly recommend this book which kept my interest throughout the many tension points yet culminated on a satisfying HEA. I’m looking forward to the subsequent episodes based on the other characters in this book.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL – EVEN STUBBORN INDEPENDENCE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Oliver, a Brit, is hired to clean out a new company of its excessive employees who are not beneficial to the company’s success. Lana is the American head of HR. The story shows how family can be the vilest of people in certain situations and saviors in others. Love, betrayal and independence play crucial roles in this story and Emelia shows how well women become dependent on no one.
This is definitely one of the better office romances I’ve read. The chemistry between Oliver and Lana was really hot. I loved how all of the office guys surrounded her and protected her from the danger following her. Good story with strong and engaging characters. Great read!
