If you dance with the devil, don’t be surprised when all Hell breaks loose.BOOK FIVE in the Morelli Family series. MUST be read in order! Or a unicorn dies. (Seriously, you do not want to start with this book. It’ll be kookydooks.)Adult content, recommended for readers 18+
” I might as well let the devil sweep me up in his arms for one more dance.”
Exactly what happens!!! Mia and Mateo are one of those book couples (or non-couple, or not sure what they are at any given time) that literally go to hell and back and you have no idea where they are going next. Mia literally dances with the devil and sets in motion one of the most mind screwing set of events that even now that I’m done, still trying to wrap my book-hungover little mind around. In past reviews I may have mentioned Mateo’s million different personalities and quirks…this one shows you all of them, even more so than even in books past. Even devouring all of the previous books prior like a starving animal, I still had no clue what he was capable of. You need to read them so you can see what I mean.
“There’s no light at the end of the tunnel. But I don’t want light. I want Mateo. I want his darkness. I want his goodness. I want every crevice of him.”
Ever meet a book character that you are amazed you even like, even though the Author does everything to make you hate them, and you still can’t? Yeah…Mateo. The human hurricane of the Morelli family…dangerous, manipulative, powerful, calculating, and absolutely sinfully sexy…THAT Mateo. Poor ladies had no chance, I had NO chance. I had no chance because even though he was all that, you got peeks of the OTHER Mateo…(remember a million personalities) the sweet, the loving, the funny, the considerate…..you’re just as mixed up about him as a reader, as the ladies in his life are. Mia and Meg, they are both in for a ride in this one…who wins? who loses? Does anyone win or lose? Haha, not telling, but I went from a dopey smile, to a sobbing wreck, and everything in between in this one….absolutely loved it!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Come obsess with me.This book is a little harder for me to review. We have Mateo front and center in this one.Let me stress you have to start at the beginning to understand how it got to this point. I know because this is where I started so I had to know where it began. Probably think I am a little strange but that is okay. Mia is my heroine (love her) and this is a really difficult part of her journey. It answers a lot of questions but still leaves you with more….How do you get all of the answers? Keep reading. The author takes you on a great adventure which I will be sad to see end.Love or hate the characters they stay true to form,
HOLY CRAP! One of my favorite books of all time.
THIS is the key turning point in this series, when everything starts to become clear and the pieces start to fall in place. I didn’t even know what I needed- but Mateo did- he’s been playing the long game, and while when I first read this (I’ve sense read it many other times, as well as the entire series) I was not sure how this was going to work and what this all meant, but OH MY. Sam is a genius.
This book is one of my favorites of the whole series and all time. Shocking, unconventional, brilliant, delicious. An insane page turner, heart breaking and heart warming. Sam will make you fall in love with a bad, bad man- we’re all just part of his masterminded plan to move everyone on the cheese board just where we want. He surprised me, in fact EVERYONE surprised me here, and i’m not sure I could live in this chapter of the journey for long – but where we’re going is EPIC.
WHAT JUST HAPPENED!
This book just blew my mind. I can’t go into too much detail with revealing anything, but… wow. I love a good twist, and the author really delivers it with this one. I love the characters in this series, and how true the writing is to each one. The voices for each are markedly different. And I find myself quite amused, against all reason, by Mateo’s dry responses. Mariano does such a great job of making him a character I love to hate. As in, I hate myself for not hating him. God, she’s good.
Highly recommend the whole series!
Make sure you read the first 4 books before diving into this one!!!
BOOK FIVE in the Morelli Family series. THIS IS NOT A STANDALONE. YOU WILL NOT ENJOY THIS IF YOU ARE NOT INVESTED IN THE CHARACTERS. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DIDN’T READ THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.
Well my goodness!!! I knew Mateo was an EVIL man… I knew Mateo Loved Mia… I knew Mateo Loved Meg… I knew Mateo is SEXY as all get out… I knew Mateo was a Mental Case… I knew Mateo thrives on Mental Games…
But….
I had no idea that Mateo would pull this stunt!!! How does this man sleep at night? Oh, that’s right he doesn’t!!! Family in the Morelli Family means everything. However, in this book…it has you questioning where Mateo draws the line and where he crosses the line.
His love for Mia is like no other love. He will STOP at NOTHING to make Mia his. But with Mateo already being engaged to Meg and she is carrying Mateo’s baby…How can he make Mia his? Mia and Vince are together, although not as strong as in the beginning, they are still together.
This book….I tell you, it was an emotional roller-coaster. Happy, Sad, Furious, Laugh out Loud, you name it, this book has all the feels! Good Job Sam Mariano
A very strange transition from the previous book in the series.
