For years, I’ve shut off my emotions, too scared to bare my heart to someone else. Because the last female I trusted, broke it into pieces and scattered it around for me to pick it up.Work is the only thing that kept my head sane. That is until she walked in. She was no longer a shy teenager, but a beautiful and confident woman. I should’ve known resisting her was impossible. But, it happened too … happened too quickly for me to comprehend.
Arianna Swanson lights my dark world with a simple smile. I see her and I see hope. My heart doesn’t hurt when I’m around her. But she was off-limits. My cousin’s best friend.
I should’ve stayed away because she deserved better. I tried and succeeded until one day, her lips whispered my name. I’m not the man she needed while nursing a broken heart, but I am drawn to her like a moth to the flame.
Then, I caught the web of deception around her and that brings out my protective instincts at full force. And I realize I’m exactly the man she needs now.
This is a standalone HEA romance novel with no cliff-hangers.

This is the second book in this series. It is even better than the first one. I love the characters and the chemistry between them. I can not wait for more book from this author.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I loved this book when I first read it. I read both Resisting Her and also Getting Over Him (If you have not read this one you totally should It is the first part of this story and has Arianna’s POV – Orlando’s love). I loved how this book had Olando’s POV. I loved that because I was finally able to see into the man that Orlando is and able to see and experience his thoughts and feelings of while discovering his love for Arianna. It was one of the sweetest books I have ever had the pleasure of reading!

*Mild spoilers*
‘Resisting Her’ is a story about deception, love, innocence, forgiveness and moving on. The book starts immediately after the events of ‘Getting Over Him’ and we get an insight into Orlando’s life and his thoughts about his past.
In ‘Getting Over Him’, we know he’s badly burned but ‘Resisting Her’ shows that his cracks were actually a deep abyss. His ex tore him apart, crushed his ego to smithereens and discarded him like yesterday’s waste. It left cracks in his self confidence which weren’t filled until Arianna came with an industrial grade shovel. The confident man who would do anything for his loved ones and could take on the world, went to bed every night falling deeper into the abyss, unable to escape it.
His heart wants to take a chance but his insecurities push him into *resisting her*. He wants to stay away from women, all women. But she wasn’t “all women”, she was his Arianna, the woman whose soul could light up the four chambers of his heart. His emotions are portrayed with much nuance.
Arianna is a wild seductress. Still reeling from the effects of her breakup, she finds herself in the arms of Orlando. And Arianna is exactly what he needs, the answer to his self doubts. She understands him more than others because she’s been in his shoes. Orlando’s Olaf knew Arianna was the one worth melting for.
The plot moves fast after the flashback. Orlando is in for a surprise that sends him down a memory lane and tests both him and Arianna. Things of the past also catch up with them and wreaks havoc. The truth about Brian, Alana and her parents is finally out. We get the comeuppance that we’ve all been waiting for since ‘Getting Over Him’, I loved the explosive reveal.
The bonus chapter was an emotional one. After her fall from grace, Alana gets help from people she least expected. Her path to redemption has been a tough one but she manages to overcome her problems. I liked her personal growth.
The secondary characters are nice. The relationship between Arianna and her friends, especially Mike and Aunt Gaby is really heart warming. I hope there is a spin off for Dean and Sandra, their story has great potential.
I feel that Orlando’s POVs could’ve been included in the first book itself because the flashback chapters focused more about his emotions and a bit about his mother and ex but it was very slow paced. This was dragged for more than half the book.
But the second half makes up for the first, this is where the real action happens. I wish the plot with Isabela’s court case was written in depth because the story was built up from the beginning but it was just glanced over in the epilogue. Orlando’s ex and her fiance were also introduced but there was no closure about them.
There are grammatical errors like some words are repeated and names are switched but that can be corrected in the future editions.
Catherine is an amazing writer, I religiously follow her stories on various reading platforms. I had very high expectations from her, but the ‘Moving On’ Duology falls short in showing her writing prowess. So overall I would rate this book 4/5.
This book was gripping, well written & the chemistry between the characters sizzled throughout this wonderful read.
Well done Catherine. I look forward to more!
He is never ever going to lose his heart to am their woman after the last one broke his heart into pieces. Now all he cares about is his work and it is going great and then she walks in. He knows he is in trouble. Can he allow love in again? What if it just comes to him? See how they get on

Arianna and Orlando’s journey has been a rollercoaster, they’ve been through a lot. No matter what happened, they were drawn to one another. The connection and chemistry that was between them was strong, they were made for each other.

This is the conclusion of Arianna and Orlando’s story. There are so many unexpected twists in this story I did not want to put it down. I enjoyed this complicated engaging romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story has emotional highs and lows as we follow Arianna and Orlando’s story. There is betrayal and deceit of someone closes to you that is unexpected but by the end of the story that karma comes home to those that deserve it.
ONE PHENOMENAL TREAT
Spectacular! Catherine tucks another feather in her cap with this stellar delight, nailing all the spills, chills and deception, rocking the fiascos and lowering the boom, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging tempest chocked-full of treacherous trials and challenging tribulations, noting the shocking twists and thrilling turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they would have never imagined. Lines blurred and boundaries crossed, limitations are amplified and exploited, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and shenanigans, kicking this gem into the eye of the storm, blasting it into a frenzy with a life changing realization. Countenance and dynamics in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. The characters, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with qualities and traits that add depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that’s so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Fantastic job Catherine, thanks for sharing the little jewel with us.

Book two in the Moving On Duology series and I will say read these books in order as they will make more sense. A well written story but because I started with this book it took me awhile to enjoy it. This is the first book by this Author that I have read. I am now going to go back and read these books in order. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Somewhat disappointing plot progression but a nice romance. The book is based, with hindsight on a reasonable storyline, which takes a very long time to evolve. At the heart of the story is the budding relationship between Arianna and Orlando, naturally, a young, billionaire, alpha male who had been traumatised by a previous relationship, so poor Arianna, in spite of their undeniable attraction, has her work cut out for her. Unfortunately, we have to arrive practically to the middle of the book to find out, why, having been cheated on by his first love 10 years ago, is Orlando still so determined never to have any intimate contact with another woman. Oh please!!! The book was trying to break off something that was just too big to chew. The storyline had several different strands and directions. After we are subjected to different aspects, of yet another dramatic turn, we get a positive resolution, HEA at each level of the storyline. The author’s character descriptions are very good and we realise how many unsavoury characters the protagonists have to deal with. Arianna’s pain at their temporary separation was nicely portrayed. This is the second time I read this book and it looks like the editorial shortcomings have actually been addressed. At times it is hard to judge an ARC copy as the reviewer doesn’t know what changes are going to be made in the final published version.

This amazing story draws you in. You get a review of the first book if you haven’t read it an it takes you forward where Orlando and Arianna’s relationship blossoms. She is his friend’s cousin and he tries to keep himself away until he see what is truly going on. Will they have the happily ever after they deserve? This story touches your heart and have you sitting on the sidelines cheering this couple on.

This is the second book in the duology and while it can be read on its own it is so much better if read in order. This was a super read with a fantastic storyline and I really really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it.
