Praised by Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Ilsa Madden-Mills as “the usual Grey crisp writing, lovable heroes that you kinda want to slap, and a heroine that doesn’t back down.” Hockey star Nolan Solvenson is nothing short of skilled perfection, both on and off the ice. Or so everyone thinks. His teammates are constantly hitting him up for advice, but really, when it comes to his own life, … comes to his own life, Nolan can’t seem to make the right moves anymore.
Blame it all on Lainey Shelburne, a woman he wants but is determined to keep at arm’s length. That’s why, after a few sexy encounters, he unceremoniously blows her off.
When they’re reunited, facing off against the fiery cocktail waitress becomes the challenge of his life. Lainey is furious with him for dumping her and wants nothing more than to kick him in the junk. But Nolan–typical man–is only interested in getting Lainey back in his bed.
That plan is shot all to hell when they reach a shaky truce and Lainey drops the bomb that all she’s looking for now is a “just friends” relationship with Nolan.
Take that, Mr. Hot Right Winger!
Suddenly, the “know-it-all” athlete is skating on thin ice as he tries to hide his burgeoning feelings from the one woman who has the ability to thaw his heart. But is Lainey willing to try a relationship with him again? Can Nolan resist the urge to walk away?

Book two in the Boys of Winter Hockey Series and this is Nolan and Lainey’s story, Nolan is a self centred man-whore who doesn’t do relationships that was until he met Lainey, the problem is he let his fear of commitment get in the way once before and he let her go, is is ready to commit now. Lainey is Aubrey’s younger sister and also the future sister in law of his best friend and teammate Brent so she should be off limits what happens next finds the Hot Right Winger skating on thin ice, will Lainey give him another chance or will his secrets from the past get in the way again, you will need to read this book to find out.
This can be read as a standalone but it was the perfect follow up to Aubrey and Brent’s story. I love hockey romance and this series is up there amongst my favourites, second chance romance mixed with humour, passion and friendships
S.R. Grey continues hitting the mark with Resistance on Ice!! This was such a fun friends to lovers story. Very low on the drama/angst and very high on the humor and heart. And you guys know how much I love to see a big alpha womanizer brought to his knees by a woman **swoon**
Nolan is the man Lainey wants to hate. He rejected her. And now he’s back in town and wants more. But she wants to hate him. He rejected her. We can’t always get what we want 🙂
You guys will love this story. I promise you! As much fun as Destiny on Ice was to read, this was ridiculously more. Their chemistry is spot on and their banter just adds to the spark. It was sexy and flirty and really endearing! SO GOOD! #TRUST

This was a nice, easy and foremost quick read. The story definitely held my attention throughout the book even though it took me a few chapters to get into it at first.
The Story:
Lainey and Nolan had hit it off pretty quickly and they had been perfect in bed together – although it happened more often anywhere else than in bed. What a shame that he dumped her. And why was that? Yeah, he has commitment issues.
Since their break-up, both thought about what they’d do when they see each other again. While Nolan would love nothing more than to get back to what they do best – having amazing sex; Lainey’s anger towards him reaches a new level and she’s determined to kick him where it hurts the most.
We all know that plans don’t always work out the way we want and when Lainey and Nolan try to be nothing more than friends, the challenge of resistance begins.
Thoughts:
There wasn’t anything outstanding but it was an overall enjoyable read.
The characters were definitely likeable but Nolan was not man enough for me. Since this story was told from Nolan’s and Lainey’s POV I sometimes couldn’t even tell which POV I was reading because they felt so similar – luckily it said at the beginning of every chapter who’s POV it was and I mean their thoughts were obviously different but still, I felt like their ‘voices’ were too much alike.
I can’t really blame the book on being too short but, as it was a rather quick read, it felt quite short. It was a lighthearted read because despite Nolan’s past and his trust and commitment issues there was no drama going on and no deep feelings. What bothered me most was that everything happened rather fast, especially the ending almost gave me whiplash. Every sentence was like BAM BAM BAM. The things kept coming out of nowhere and were way too much and too rushed for my liking.
Note: I sometimes tend to focus too much on what I didn’t like, so this may seem like I wasn’t much into this book but that’s not the case because I still enjoyed this story a lot.
Anyway, now I’m curious about Benny’s story =)
