My name is Erika and I am the last human on Earth.
The Simian S1 Virus wiped out everyone, leaving me alone in an Africa that is suddenly not as friendly as I remember it.
Amid trying to deal with the death of my parents, finding shelter, and looking for food, I discover horrors I wish I had never seen.
Haunted, hunted, and scared, I only have one thing going for me – I am resilient.
… one thing going for me – I am resilient.
“Resilient is awesome, disturbing, clever, and character driven. There were scenes that made my hair stand on end.” – Reviewer

The idea of this story was frightening. The thoughts of a virus released into the population is an awful those ight. A story full of determination, courage & friendship. The author did a great job with this story, a must read.
This was one heck of a book to be reading in the midst of a pandemic. Just wow!
Erika was a force to be reckoned with and she didn’t let a little thing like seemingly being the only person left alive stop her from trying her best to survive and thrive. Many scenes in this book were eerie and chilling as I read and observed her doing her best to stay prepared. Her strength was definitely admirable. I was so anxious with every chapter and new situation she would find herself in.
This was an incredible story from start to finish that had my anxiety peaked the whole way through.
Erika wakes after coming down with an illness to find that life as she knew it was forever changed. How can she survive?
Wow, Toni Cox has written an all too realistic story. She paints a very vivid picture of what things are like. I just couldn’t put it down.
Juliet Jones’s narration was very well done. She did a great job of bringing the story to life and the emotions really came through.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
This was a different kind of book. I enjoyed it very much. The narrator did a very good job. This makes you think of things that could happen like this and makes you wonder what you would do. Throw in some scary scientists who have gone mad and you get a great story. I like the end where they go out and find other survivors in their country and get them all together. That is about the best way to survive something like that.
I received an advanced reader copy from Story Origin for an honest review.
bio warfare turns out to be mass destruction with out a cure, The only survivors, the resilient are the possible cure to save the few that have survived.
As a South African I enjoyed the familiarity of the local dialect and scenery. But when the sickness came all my comfort disappeared. I was slammed into a sense of panic made worse by the fact that in other parts of the word there is a crisis. This book is a startling look at what it could be like to live with a crisis. Worthy read.
A virus sweeps across the world killing almost everyone in its path. A young woman, Erika a bad headache and a sore throat one day and decides to go to bed to rest for a few hours she wakes up a few days later and her world has changed tremendously. While she was sick in bed everyone else was dying. Ericka now finds herself alone in a dead and empty world.
She must find a way to survive in a world devoid of people. Ericka soon adapts to her new way of living. She is very resilient in her planning and stocks up on supplies and starts a vegetable garden.
Ericka runs into a few people during her travels into town for supplies. Resilient is their story of how they survive the end of the world. Ericka ‘s new friends are not the only ones they meet on their journeys no there is a new group of people left in this new world and they call them the Resilient. Resilient are zombie like creatures only they are still alive and not dead. They have changed so much in appearance and attack people like zombies.
Resilient is a very intense and enthralling read that had me flipping the pages to see how our wonderful group of survivors were making out and to see what else they world discover in this new world. I don’t know why but I love these end of the world books and can’t seem to get enough of them. I want to read every one I can get my hands on.
If you like zombies or end of the world books then you are going to fall in love with Resilient. I would like to suggest that you one click yourself a copy today and follow Ericka on her survival journey and fighting the Resilient.
Now, this was out there!
Cox really took to the new genre amazingly well and I have to say I gobbled this book up whenever I had a spare minute from writing because it was so well written.
Now, my only qualm is that the book wasn’t long enough but other than that it was well paced, well worth the wait.
Cox enters the dystopian genre with a bang with Resilient, and what an amazing concept it was. I had no idea where she was going with this but I had one hell of a journey reading it. It left me with mixed emotions, in a good way, because on the one hand I expected a typical ending but was given something so much better.
Cox has clearly done her research and all I can say now is that it is time to stock up on Elderberry juice and Olive Leaf tablets (which I happen to know Cox has 😛 )
Well done on ANOTHER brilliant book. You have become my all-time favourite author in a very short time of two years and I cannot wait for your next release.
