I LOVE a fun, sweet story about a prince and an everyday girl. Because, hello? Don’t most girls dream of becoming a princess someday? Okay…maybe that was just me…
Prince Harry…oops! I meant, Prince Henry and Adrianne meet in an interesting way and her first reaction to him was priceless. He’s not used to girls not fawning all over him, but Henry is finally ready to grow up and take some royal responsibility and what better way to do so than working on a project that Adrianne is closely involved in?
I loved these two characters, especially as they battled the insane chemistry between them, worked hard on a program they’re both passionate about, and fight the misconceptions surrounding them, especially Henry. They both became life-like to me, as I could vividly picture them, their setting, and their budding romance.
One thing that I really enjoyed was that, as much as I truly do love royals, there was more to this story than just fluff. There are tight familial bonds on both sides, as well as conflicts and issues to resolve. The love story is just the cherry on top of a great story.
Content: mild romance

Enjoyed this story that could have been a TV movie. It was a fluffy read, but had heartfelt emotion and I loved the growth in Henry. Plus, I just love the name Henry. Adrianne gets thrown in to a world she never imagined, but holds true to her desire to begin the reading program that holds a special place in her heart. This is the first book I have read in the series and I didn’t feel like I was missing out on things, but now I’m interested in reading about some of the supporting characters that make an appearance in this story. Quick sweet read.
I enjoyed reading Prince Henry and Adrianne’s story. The characters are well written and likable. The story will grab you and you want to find out what happens. They meet when he runs out of gas and she stop to help me. She tells him of pilot program for children in the hospital and need funds or it will close, He need to do charity work and decides to fund her program. this is a fun read and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good story. I received a advance copy of this book and voluntarily leaving this review.
Rescuing the Prince is Lucinda Whitney’s sixth addition to the Royal Secrets series. I enjoyed this story. I love the chemistry between Prince Henry Somerset and Adrianne Blake. They were so much fun together. I give this delightful, quick read four and a half stars.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
Who doesn’t love a royal love story? This is book six in the Royal Secrets series which is written by 3 different authors, but I think each book can be read on it’s own, I know this one can.
Adrianne is a social worker who runs a pilot program at one of the hospitals to help children who are hospitalized for long periods of time, with their reading so they don’t fall behind while they’re missing school. She has a soft spot in her heart for these children because she was one of them when she was about 8 yrs old.
Prince Henry Somerset is known as the “Playboy Prince”, but is he really? While escaping from his bodyguards Henry finds himself stranded on a country road when his car runs out of gas, and there’s no cell phone service. He’s intrigue by the beautiful woman driving a truck that reluctantly helps him.
I liked that Adrianne tried to keep her distance from Prince Henry and would call him your Highness, Prince Henry, etc even though he kept telling her to call him Henry when it was just the two of them. She wasn’t fawning all over him just because he was a handsome prince. I loved the scenes where Henry reads to Poppy–he really had more depth, as a person, than he showed to the press and most of the world. He truly cared about the hospital’s reading program and his family.
I liked Adrianne’s neighbor Mrs. Hastings who loved to watch The Royal Channel on TV. She knew all along that Prince Henry was a good guy under the Playboy Prince facade.
I like stories about royals and this was one was very satisfying. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. When I read a book by Lucinda Whitney I know I’m going to get a great story that has wonderful characters and is clean but still swoony.
Prince Henry met Adrianne when he ran out of gas after he ran away from a lecture about his responsibilities. He wasn’t very mature and rather selfish until he met her and became interested in the reading program she was running at a local hospital for sick children, so they don’t fall behind in school. She needs funding, which he promises her only to discover due to restrictions the Royal House of Durham can’t deliver on it. He is allowed to put together a fundraiser with Adrianne and in doing so they spend more time together and with the children at the hospital especially Poppy who tugs at the heartstrings. This was a clean opposites attract and people can change romance with plenty of funny and sweet moments.
The author has built a story of wonderful characters with a sweet romance. Her words are expressive and detailed so the reader feels like the proverbial “fly on the wall”. Henry, third in line to the throne of Durham, meets a social worker when his car runs out of fuel and he is left stranded on the side of the road. Adrianne is overseeing a reading program for longterm hospitalized children that is in desperate need of funding. Prince Henry is pressured by his family to find a charitable cause to sponsor and his serendipitous meeting with Adrianne sparks his interest.
The author writes a full story with a high regard for paying it forward. Not only is this a romance with all the sweetness and no heat, but this book leaves a reader with a smile and a heart full of happiness.
I’ve read all the books in the Royal Secrets Series. Love learning about each prince & how they find love & their wife. This one is Henry’s story & how he gives up being a “playboy” type, accepts grown-up responsibility & helps a good cause. Looking forward to the stories about the princesses mentioned in the books. Love this author, her style, a good HEA.
I received an ARC copy & this is my voluntary review.
Two people from totally different walks of life end up together.
The characters band plot of this book was wonderful but I would not expect less from this author.
Such a great book, I absolutely loved it. Poppy is a big part of the story I enjoyed her. Adrianne is so strong and smart. It was great watching Henry grow up to be the man he should be.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Rescuing the Prince is the 6th book in the Royal Secrets series, but it can be read as a standalone. This is a sweet clean read with a spotlight on kids in hospitals and some of the challenges they face.
Adrianne, in trying to protect her heart, comes across as being rude at times, which made me cringe. She’s a pessimist, so that does make some sense. Henry, on the other hand, is open and friendly, although he’s also smug and proud! His playboy persona is explained in the story, but not in a believable way. I’d like to understand his values and motives a little more. Henry never treats Adrianne as a mere commoner, even though she does refer to herself as such.
I didn’t always feel the chemistry, sometimes it felt like it was being stated rather than experienced. They faced a couple of hurdles with their project, which kept the story moving. I was certainly rooting for them and wanted to see them succeed. Overall, it’s a feel-good story with a valuable message. I received an eARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Rescuing the Prince by Lucinda Whitney is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed her style and her story. This is a quick, sweet and clean read. This is the story of Prince Henry Somerset and Adrianne Blake. Even though the media has dubbed him The Playboy Prince he has found a cause he can support and does his best. After a crisis that ruins his plans, he does everything he can to make it right. Adrianne is not sure of his motives since she sees what the media says about him. A great storyline with many interesting characters. A very good book!
An entitled young prince and a hardworking social worker meet on a lonely road. For once the prince isn’t the one to do the rescuing, but the young lady foots the bill for his carelessness. Prince Henry wants to become involved in Adrianne’s charity project but he soon realises that lack of preparation and carelessness lead not only to disaster, but also broken hearts. One cannot help but cheer Henry on as he tries to redeem himself and although Adrianne takes the brunt of his errors, she is a sweet and forgiving person. The book is a relatively short read but it is nevertheless well written and has a good object lesson. It is a standalone, clean and sweet and can be read by most age groups, with a happy ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
So good. Probably my favorite so far in the series. They just keep getting better and better.
I love how the author is authentic to her style but also weaves the storyline so well that the other books are still being portrayed as part of the series.
I really enjoyed the growth and learned humility of each character and how they were able to forgive each other.

This was a great book that grabbed me from the beginning. The characters were lovable and easy to relate with. Henry was considered a playboy by the media and was trying to come out from under that label when he meets Adrianne. Adrianne was a sweet young lady with a heart of gold, but had difficulty believing things would work out for her benefit. I liked how the two worked together and seeing how they had to set aside their preconceived notions about one another. Overall, this was a good, clean romance. I received a copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Another fantastic addition to the Royal Secrets series! Yes, I’m biased ;), but seriously guys, you’re going to totally fall in love with Prince Henry.
This is a quick read, sweet romance. The main characters are likable and I was rooting for them to succeed both in their relationship and in their endeavors at the hospital. They do have to overcome some troubles before they can get to their happily ever after though.
A little bit of a second chance romance on her side because she had a big crush on him when she was 8 years old but he had no idea who she was at their grown up meeting so not so much second chance on his side. More of an insta-intrigued story for him. Who is this woman who doesn’t fall at his feet like everyone else?
The Royal watcher neighbor cracked me up. I loved how she could see Prince Henry’s real personality just by watching him on TV. And Poppy was the sweetest little girl. Her interactions with the Prince were endearing. Glad she ends up in a good situation too.
We know that the media doesn’t necessarily get things right and often twists things to appear to be what they want them to be. So my question is did Charlotte actually have the problem that the media reported? That wasn’t clear to me but doesn’t really matter for this story.
Sex: some kisses
Language: no
Violence: no
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I absolutely loved this book! I loved the verbal sparring between the heroine and hero. I loved the second chances that rescue relationships and allow fit happily ever after. I highly recommend this book! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Happy Reading!
An absolutely beautiful story of Adrienne who runs a literacy program for children who spend weeks or even months in the hospital and Henry who is a Prince who runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere and Adrienne rescues.
A lot of misunderstandings and misconceptions abound between them and they have a rollercoaster relationship.
You cannot always believe what you read in the press or see on television. That is what Adrianne Blake slowly finds out in this story. When she stops to help a stranded motorist on a lonely road, Adrianne discovers Prince Henry, the grown-up version of the little boy who visited her in the hospital when she was eight years old and had just lost both her parents.
Will she believe that he is trying to change or will she just be hurt by empty promises of aid for the charitable foundation which she runs?
I found this book to be a great evening’s entertainment.
