As a flight attendant, Rayne Jackson is used to cancellations, but she never dreamed her latest would lead to a whirlwind tour of London with a handsome stranger…or a life-altering night in his bed. One evening is all the enigmatic man can give her, and Rayne greedily takes it, despite suspecting it will never be enough.
Heading home after another extreme mission, Keane “Ghost” Bryson hadn’t … Bryson hadn’t planned to seduce someone during his layover, but Rayne is too sweet to resist. Being a Delta Force member means lying to protect his identity, which is unfortunate, considering Rayne seems made for Ghost, right down to the tattoo on her back. For the first time in his life, regret fills him as he slips away the following morning.
Both are shocked when, months later, they meet again—under the worst possible circumstances. Seems fate has given them a second chance…if they can survive the terrorist situation they’re in. If Rayne can forgive Ghost his lies. And if Ghost can trust Rayne to be strong enough to endure the secrets and uncertainty that come with loving a Delta Force soldier.
** Rescuing Rayne is the 1st book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

I like reading all her books. They are all action packed.
If you have not read any of Susan Stoker’s books you should. Rescuing Rayne is a good read. I love the fact that the heroine in the book is not above taking care of herself and is an average woman.
Just discovered this author recently. Working my way through her extensive list.
Kept wanting to keep reading
Love this series of tough guys MATCHING up with the girl that is right for them. Great to learn more about the world, makes you hope that there are guys out there like this helping to make it a better place!
I LOVE these characters
There was far too much detailed sex in it to qualify for anything other than erotic. Such a shame (to me) to have a good creative story line and waste the opportunity by focusing on sex instead of what is actually interesting. I ordered it because it wasn’t classified as erotic romance and was therefore disappointed. If you enjoy such a book, it was well edited and the pace was good.
Too much explicit sex… not necessary with a good plot.
Typical “SEAL” romance
Ghost and Rayne….truly a wonderful story…so much that the follow up story was great.
Absolutely loved it! This story has a little bit of everything. Sweet and fun in the beginning. A steamy night together. An action-packed and heart-breaking rescue. Military brothers that are closer than family. A spunky best friend for Rayne. And though I wouldn’t call myself a tattoo person – the connection to one and the use of ink was utterly fantastic. So glad to have found this author…I am off to read more!
This is a good book for a rainy afternoon to just breeze through. The heroes are brave and brawny, and they’re not afraid of anything. You know it’s going to end all right.
Love her books.
Will keep in my library!
Rayne is a flight attendant serving on international routes and Ghost is a Delta Force soldier returning from a mission. Their flight gets cancelled and they spend one night together in London. Then true to his name, Ghost is long gone the next morning leaving Rayne to go about her life. During a layover in Egypt, Rayne and another flight attendant get caught up in a military coup and held hostage. Ghost’s unit is sent to rescue the hostages and he’s shocked to find Rayne in the middle of all the danger.
I enjoy all of Susan Stoker’s books and this one was no exception. The book took a little bit of a different trajectory than I was thinking. Most of the action is in the first part and then the second part is more about Rayne recovering from her ordeal and trying to settle into a normal relationship with Ghost (as normal as you can get with a special ops soldier).
Stoker never disappoints.
Fantastic book!
New author and entertaining read but proofreading needs to be improved on.
I rarely read contemporary romance but when I am in the mood I like to check out new authors.
Found that I enjoyed this book from start to finish. It didn’t drag, flag or go off point.
I grabbed this as a free read through a promotion but as it is not in KU and I won’t be paying the prices asked as there are too many books to be read, I will be reading what books from this author I can get through my library.
Expected a basic detective kind of story and instead got one of the hottest, steamiest books I’ve read in a long time, with great characters and an interesting setting. If you don’t enjoy sex, then just get a book on gardening instead.
I liked it a lot.
