loved this story! Kept me on my toes and you can’t help but feel for the characters as their stories unfold.
J.W. Ashley has written a 5-star book. This book will grab you from the first page to the last page. The chemistry between Norah and Harley is off the chart. If you like suspense, betrayal, murder, and a lot of twists and turns then you will enjoy this book. It has a little bit of everything that makes a great book and keeps the reader interested to find out what happens next.
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fast paced action:
This book drew me in from the very beginning and I was intrigued as to how it would all turn out with the many different twists and turns. There was plenty of action and heart stopping suspense however I did find it a bit graphic and violent at times.
My heart went out to poor Nora who had been dealt some tough blows in her life and I liked how she grew beyond all that to ultimately be a strong and determined woman. Harley was protective and caring and I liked them together as a couple.
It looks like some threads of the investigation continue into book 2 but this could definitely be read as a standalone. Not everything was explained (such as how they were found when hiding out) so perhaps some more answers will be given in the next one? Despite that it was still an enjoyable and thrilling read.

Norah had it tough growing up and then is betrayed by someone she trusted. Harley wants to protect her, however, they are both now in danger. I loved the way their relationship develops and especially enjoyed J. W. Ashley’s gripping writing style.

Harley and Norah are great together as they can butt heads which makes you laugh as well as work so well together and both of the want to get to the bottom of why Norah appears to be targeted. There is plenty of action, sass, betrayal, danger, bad guys and a steamy attraction to keep you turning the page and wanting to read the next book asap!

Fantastic ! This was a great book ! I loved all the suspense, plot twists, romance, wittiness and betrayal. This is one book when you start reading you won’t put it down. The hardships Norah went through growing up was sad which made her a stronger woman until it came to Clayton. Now that was another story all together and yeah frustration will get you. Harley went through some stuff and there’s nothing like betrayal to get you angry. Grab this book you won’t be disappointed !!
I received this as an ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
This book starts as a jog and before you know it you are full on running…the whole rest of the way through till the end. No spoilers… I love Norah’s unending need to love and nurture. Harley and his need to protect without being the crazy alpha is refreshing. They help each other heal and grow…and its beautiful.
I read this book when it was called Deceived. And I have reread it since J.W. Ashley has made a few changes. I still love it as much as the first time I read it. The twist and turns are crazy!!! Harley is sexy!!!! Loved this book so much!
Norah and Harley take you on action packed, emotional, heart pounding, intense read. Right from the start I was on the edge of my seat with all the twist and turns and suspense will leave you breathless and wanting more. With each page you read and the more you find out makes you want to keep reading to find out how it ends. Amazing can’t wait to read what she has next.
I loved this book!
Jessica gives us a book that has twists and turns that will keep u on the edge of your seat.
Norah and Harley are perfect for each other, they grow and learn together and they teach that no matter what happen’s we can overcome trauma and betrayal and still find love.
I totally recomend it!
I read this when it was called Deceived, and enjoyed the story; I gave it 4 stars. The author made some changes to the story, so I re-read it with the new changes. The story was more streamlined than the previous version, there was more relationship build up, and Norah has more sass and intelligence in this version, so I’m rating this version a 5 star. It still had all the positives of the original story; suspense, action, romance, but I liked the characters better and the story flowed much better. The writing has approved, and the changes the author made enhanced the story. I’ll include my review for the old version below, so you can see how I thought before the changes. The whole story is entertaining! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Old review for Deceived before revisions
I love this type of premise. Norah is on the run after finding out her fiancé is a truly horrible person. Along for the adventure is sexy ex-cop Harley to bring the steamy romance factor. Love the suspense that comes with this type of story; the dangerous situations the characters find themselves in, lots fun to be had. I wanted to love this, but it didn’t quite get there for me. Still an entertaining read though. Norah is a very gullible woman that just makes horrible choices; she calls herself an idiot multiple times in this books, so I really wanted to see her kick some butt. She didn’t quite get there for me. She has a big heart, but it leads her to most of her bad decisions; it blinded her to the obvious signs her fiancé was not a good guy. I wanted more growth from her. Luckily for her, Harley is the type that likes to save the clueless damsel. They have a good connection with sweet moments. Overall, I enjoyed the whole story; some of the actions by the characters didn’t make sense and the writing can be basic at times, but I liked it. I’d say this is a 3.5 rating, but I’m a sucker for premises like this, so it gets a 4.

I started this book and couldn’t stop reading until I finished it. It’s been a really well written book, full of suspense and steamy romantic moments, intrigue, trust issues and betrayal, all the main plots for a romance suspense book. Get the book, you won’t be disappoointed, I loved it.
