Rescuing My Angel is the second book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin off, but it isn’t a requirement that you read that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be seen, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple and may be read as a standalone, you will receive maximum enjoyment reading them in order. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked the connection between Hawke and Trace. I loved that the relationship with Hawke and his Dad Denver, who he’d thought that he was his older brother even though he was more of his dad the whole time wasn’t effected by Denver’s omission. I loved the friendship between Hawke, Cody and Tris. I’m glad that Hawke and Tris didn’t get hurt too much when Denver’s crazy b*tch of an ex-girlfriend who taunted and hated Hawke and basically forced him away from home while they were together went psycho and set fire to Hawke’s building and then drove her car into the stairs so the firefighters couldn’t use them as an easy access point. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens between Tris and Walker. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Rescuing My Angel is the second book of the Sulfur Springs series, and I recommend reading the first book in the series first before reading this one. This book is a contemporary romance filled with drama and danger. I enjoyed this book more than the first book since it centered around tropes I enjoy. There was the protective-trope and the age-gap-trope—tropes I am a big fan of. The drama and romance was a little bit cliched but I still enjoyed it.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Dean who did a great job with performance. The audiobook production was well done and overall an enjoyable listening experience.
This was my first audio by Taylor Ryan but I’m sold. Will be hunting down more books to read and listen to.
Great story and really well narrated.
Hawke was that character that was introduced back in the Crooked Bend series, that I liked and wanted more of. And when I found that he was getting his own book I was excited. He is just his character that is comfortable in his own skin, but yet you can see that there is something that is right there under the surface that is waiting to come out. And what was needed was for him to find that perfect man that complimented him. In comes Trace Rivers. He has been admiring the cute as can be baker from across the street at the fire station. He’s drawn to Hawke like one would be to their first teenage crush. Their relationship was one that didn’t just happen over night. No Trace made sure that Hawke knew that he was in it for the long run and wanted to win over his heart the right way. When Trace almost looses Hawke in a fire, he knows deep down that he his fully and truly in love with the little angel that he found across the street.
But, this wasn’t only about Hawke finding that one person that completes him, this is also a story that shows a secret that has been needed to be shared for years. And when it finally comes to light Hawke’s life does change, but in which way? You will need to read to find out. I loved being introduced to even more characters that I cannot wait to learn more about.
