Ford “Truck” Laughlin and Mary Weston have weathered their share of storms over the last couple years. Truck’s job, Mary’s health. His bossiness, her bitchiness. All while dancing around their intense attraction. Mary’s tried to push him away for his own good but Truck won’t let her give up…on herself or on them. Just when she decides they deserve a fair shot, disaster strikes. Truck has wanted … has wanted Mary since the moment he saw her. The prickly woman pushes all his buttons and looks beyond his scarred exterior, something few women have managed. His plan to take their relationship to the next level is stalled when he’s injured on a mission. And he’s barely feeling like his old self again before the couple is dealt another blow, one that could permanently end their chances…and their lives.

I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time. Always love a big, scarred hero with a heart of gold and a protective streak as big as he is.
The series epilogue went on much too long for me. But Truck & Mary’s story itself? I loved it!!
An excellent story . The emotions and the characters are so real. Every one of Susan Stoker’s books seem better than the previous, but, to me, this is the best
“Rescuing Mary” is the ninth book of the Delta Force Heroes series and in my opinion it is the best book of the series. They are all fantastic books but this one was just special. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. It is the story of Ford “Truck” Laughlin and Mary Weston who we met in book one of this series, Rescuing Rayne. Mary and Rayne are best friends and even Rayne sometimes doesn’t understand Mary or her relationship with Truck. But finally we get the answer to all of our questions, we finally know why Mary acts the way she does, why she treats Truck the way she does, and they get the happily ever after that they both deserve.
Well done, Susan Stoker, this one was definitely worth the wait!
Truck has been a firm favourite since the beginning of the series and I was happy to finally get his story. A true gentle giant with a protective streak. He and Mary obviously have a great connection, but she struggles with her emotional past and present. I liked how they got a chance to open up to one another in a time of crisis. And how Mary took chances to show her love and appreciation even if the words struggled to leave her mouth.
I loved reading Truck and Mary’s story so much in Rescuing Mary. This book was everything and what a way to end the series. Love Mary and Rayne’s deep friendship. I’ve listened and read this book and I just fall in love with Truck and Mary all over again. This is a must read that will touch your heart deeply. Kudos Susan Stoker for writing such a beautiful love story.
I have waited for Truck and Mary’s story since i read Rescuing Rayne. They do have such a strong pull towards each other but deny it anyway. Their relationship grows over the years while all of Trucks teammates find their women. Such an amazing story that dies mit only circle around the two of them but all the others as well. The new Delta Team ist introduced once more so you’ll get to know what’s next.
Oh my goodness this story was heartbreaking and endearing all at the same time. The loyalty and closeness of the team shined through every page. Truck and Mary have a long road ahead of them, can they find the perfection that I know they can be?
I wasn’t looking forward to this book, I really wasn’t. Mary was just ugh, it’s not that I didn’t like her, I didn’t anything her. She could of lived, she could of died, I just didn’t care one way or the other. Truck on the other hand, was an entirely different story. I love him, and I really thought he could do better than Mary. So with my love of Truck in mind I started Rescuing Mary. I have to admit, Mary won me over in the end. Much of her characteristics are not only explained, but understandable. I still think she was over the top with her attitude, but at least I understand now.
Truck and Mary did not have an easy story. Rescuing Mary didn’t follow the typical formula for the Delta series, and it made it better. Their story is full of emotion (not that the others aren’t) but it was different this time. Trucks injury, Mary’s self esteem. Emotional.
Where this book really shines is in the epilogue. It really felt like I was saying goodbye to good friends. Not only that, but the realistic glimpse into each of the couples lives was, and there is that word again, emotional. I want more, more Ghost, Fletch, Blade, Beetle, Hollywood, Truck, and Coach.
I have waited a long time to hear this story. After first meeting Mary & Truck in Rescuing Rayne, I have watched their relationship avidly. They have been through a lot together. It really is time to resolve all that has kept them apart. This story did not disappoint. It covered all the bases and then some.
I admit I skipped Casey & Wendy’s story thus missing some key moments. It is covered here but would have been better to get the info through their stories. There is an exceptionally long epilogue as this is the end of a series. All the team members have found the love of their lives. Bravo.
Rescuing Mary by Susan Stoker is the 9th book in the Delta Force Heroes series. We finally get to read Truck and Mary’s story.
Mary didn’t tell her best friend Rayne that her cancer had returned and that when Truck offered to get married so that his insurance would cover her treatments. Because of this Rayne is understandably upset at her but when the four women Emily, Casey, Rayne and Mary are taken hostage at her bank it will be Truck and the new Delta Team to the rescue. When Mary finally talks to Rayne to let her know why she didn’t tell her about her health everyone will be Emily who’ll have the ladies busy trying to not go into labor.
Truck loves Mary but he’ll need to convince her that he wants more than she’s given him will Mary finally give him the love they have for each other?
Truck finally gets his story…YAY! This larger than life man is a true dichotomy. He’s gentle yet lethal, caring and selfless yet giving the enemy no quarter and he loves with all his heart while expecting nothing in return. Mary haa benefitted in so many ways from her relationship with Truck and yet still has not committed fully to him or their relationship. A life changing event profoundly affects them both as well as the entire Delta Force family.
I love these Delta force guys! Truck and Mary’s story has been hinted at throughout the series and I’m so glad to see them get the HEA they deserve. A real tear jerker, but although not my very favorite in the series, the narration is top notch and definitely worth the listen!
-4 Stars!-
I have read this whole series and was happy to hear Truck and Mary’s story was finally being released. I don’t want to ruin the book for others so no spoilers, but something happened in the book that I did not see coming. Although it’s frustrating, it’s also a beautiful way to work the story and make a hea ending. It’s best to read the series in order and work up to this book, it will be worth it.
Exciting and Emotional! I really enjoyed reading Truck and Mary’s story, FINALLY!! LOL!! Seriously, this story was well worth the wait. It was exciting at the same time being emotional and sexy. I loved the twists and turns this story had and it was a beautiful ending to a long journey.
Love love loved this one! We always knew Mary and Truck would end up together but what an adventure! This had bad guys galore, secrets, reunions and Delta Teams. The epilogue is fantastic too. I hate to see this series end but I look forward to the next.
I have been waiting forever to Truck and Mary’s story. I know Mary bothered a lot of people in the different books but I had to believe that there was more to the story. She seemed to always be dealing with so much and had the barriers to show for it.
I loved that Truck was able to see past that and see Mary for who she is. Have seem people go through cancer and the treatments it takes a strong person to stand by and help them even if they don’t want to be helped. Truck was that person and even when Mary was pushing him away he didn’t let go.
Excellent conclusion to a wonderful series!
Loved this series by Susan Stoker, cannot wait for the next in the series Rescuing Macie. I am rereading this series once again!
Susans books are always awesome, very very talented author. Always waiting for the next one.
Finally, Mary and Truck’s story from the Delta Force Heroes series by Susan Stoker. It makes you laugh and cry and I wish I could give it more than five stars.
