Renting out the apartment over his garage shouldn’t be a life-changing decision, but when Delta soldier Cormac “Fletch” Fletcher meets Emily Grant, he feels an instant connection. He can’t stand the thought of Emily and her young daughter living anywhere unsafe. Offering cheap rent is a small price to pay for their safety…and Fletch’s peace of mind.
Being a single mother is difficult at best, … at best, but renting the extremely affordable space from Fletch makes Emily’s life a lot easier…until it doesn’t. Suddenly all the money she’s saving thanks to Fletch’s generosity is going into the hands of a blackmailer. And what little food Emily can afford goes to her daughter Annie, so the girl doesn’t go to bed hungry…leaving Emily weaker and weaker.
When miscommunication has Emily assuming Fletch is in on the blackmail, he not only has to gain her trust, but also deal with a man holding a grudge against Fletch and his entire Delta Force team. A task made more difficult when the dangerous man gets his hands on Emily and Annie…
** Rescuing Emily is the 2nd book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

I liked this book, and would read it again.
Single mom trying her hardest to raise her daughter. They need a new place to stay find it and enjoy it until things go bad. Rock start mom and a delta for Man. Loved it !!
Take one Delta Force Sergeant, one single mother and one precocious six year old girl and you’ve got the makings wonderful romantic suspense story filled with tension, deceit and breath taking action. Fletch’s hardcore Delta heart is captured by Emily and melted by Annie. Protecting them becomes a race against time but his team is there to back him up against an enemy from within.
I loved Rescuing Emily! The characters (Annie and Emily especially) were so relate- able you couldn’t help but fall in love and watch as Emily, Annie, and Fletch become a family! I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a feel-good read, but still craves a little action, a little romance, and some sexy steamy scenes!
This Author’s books are really good and easy to read..
Read a number of books that Susan has written and I can’t seem to get enough. I have to to say that the the characters are quite funny
My favorite is in this book is little Anne, such a hoot!
Good characters…Emily as a single mom believable
Too much explicit sex
Oh my word, Annie has to be one of the most adorable children! Fletch is a sweetheart and Emily so brave and hard working. Story is action packed and entertaining.
Well written with a captivating plot and vivid, unforgettable characters. Alpha men and strong women with a lust for life and each other. An excellent read.
I loved this story of a single mom, a precocious little girl, and the alpha soldier who will do anything to keep them safe. The story is instant attraction and a case of misunderstanding and miscommunication. These are things that can be a big turn off for me but were handled so well.
I need more of my Delta Force addiction.
-5 Stars!-
This book wasn’t too bad. U get hints about his interest in Emily but she has problems of her own with a blackmailer and trying to probide for her daughter and keeping enough to eat for her daughter. You also get recaps back to ghost and rayne instead of focusing completely on this couple.
Oh wow. I did not see this one coming. It’s the second book in the series I could get my fingers on and it’s as perfectly amazing as the other one I’ve read. Due to a big misunderstanding Emily almost starves herself to death. Lukily she’s got a smart kid who just knows what to do. Seeking help by the soldier next door… One thing leads to another and Emily is again dragged into soldier business she never signed up for. But this time Fletch’s whole team is up to the challenge. I very very much enjoyed this story and couldn’t put it down. Annie just fabulous as well and a nice extra.
Not my normal read. Yet, I found myself captivated by the characters and hooked on the storyline. Well written and easy to become engrossed in. Thanks for broadening my horizons.
Wow
This is the second in this series, and I have read the first. But I have read other books from Susan and once you start reading they are hard to put down. A little girl make a group of men googly.
I’ve read and enjoyed four other Susan Stoker books and “Rescuing Emily” isn’t even in the same class. While the basic plot premise is acceptable, the execution falls far short of her usual work. Of the characters, Emily, is unbelievably naive and none too bright either. And the complete lack of communication between her and Fletch over the blackmailing scheme stretches the bounds of credibility to the breaking point. The precocious six year old Annie is the only thing that saves this Stoker title from being a total waste of time. It makes me wonder if Susan Stoker even wrote it. Gah!
It’s like your right there wanting to help !!!
A man, knowing he’s strong, a woman knowing she’s strong , both vulnerable, one together to forge a relationship that is stronger together than either ever thought possible.
charming, predictable but satisfying, except very nasty criminal
I like romance story about single moms too many of the 20 something romance books out there . Would like to read a book about an older single mother with more then one kid.
