Renting out the apartment over his garage shouldn’t be a life-changing decision, but when Delta soldier Cormac “Fletch” Fletcher meets Emily Grant, he feels an instant connection. He can’t stand the thought of Emily and her young daughter living anywhere unsafe. Offering cheap rent is a small price to pay for their safety…and Fletch’s peace of mind.
Being a single mother is difficult at best, … at best, but renting the extremely affordable space from Fletch makes Emily’s life a lot easier…until it doesn’t. Suddenly all the money she’s saving thanks to Fletch’s generosity is going into the hands of a blackmailer. And what little food Emily can afford goes to her daughter Annie, so the girl doesn’t go to bed hungry…leaving Emily weaker and weaker.
When miscommunication has Emily assuming Fletch is in on the blackmail, he not only has to gain her trust, but also deal with a man holding a grudge against Fletch and his entire Delta Force team. A task made more difficult when the dangerous man gets his hands on Emily and Annie…
** Rescuing Emily is the 2nd book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

I really enjoyed the interaction of the man with the child. Stories that involve children in a positive light always get me.
Single mom Emily Grant thinks she’s found the answer to her woes when she rents a cheap apartment from Delta Forces soldier Cormac Fletcher. The man is hot, their attraction is mutual, and he genuinely seems to like her daughter, Annie. But when a soldier with a grudge extorts her and threatens Annie to get back at Fletch, she begins to wonder if Fletch is the man she thought he was. There was much love about this story. Fletch was a total swoon-worthy hero. He has become one of my most favorite book boyfriends ever. Annie, as a precocious little girl who prefers GI Joe to Barbie was adorable. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing the romance unfold. I enjoyed the “family” moments, too.
I read the entire series, and loved every minute.
Couldn’t put it down!!! This book has it all great writing, great storyline and characters you immediately fall in love with! It kept me on the edge of my seat while also making me laugh! Emily and Fletch were HOT and little Annie is a smart and funny, sweet little girl. I LOVED it and can’t wait for the next Delta Force book!!
This is another fun, steamy, hot, read full of hot special forces men and sassy, independent women.
There is danger, drama, intrigue and an eventual happy ever after.
Highly recommend.
Loved the characters and story.
Another great Susan Stoker book! I thoroughly enjoyed Fletch and Emily’s love story. I did get frustrated with Emily at times, but this in NO WAY prevented me from giving it 5 stars. Don’t believe the 1 star reviews. This book is so worth reading!!
And as a bonus, Annie is a real hoot. She had me laughing out loud, especially in the Epilogue. I’m sure her grownup story will be just as entertaining.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO EVERY RELATIONSHIP
‘
Fletch is a Delta Force soldier and he meets Emily when she wants to rent his garage apartment. He can tell she is down on her luck, so he gives her a great deal on her rent. Fletch’s team plays the villain in the training ops and has made an unknown enemy. He targets Emily who believes his lies. I am surprised that Emily and Fletch’s personalities and bumbling communication leads them into a disastrous situation. I love the ops part of the story and the dedication the soldiers have to their country.
A great story. I always enjoy Susan Stoker’s books. Fletch and Emily in entertaining and absolutely love Annie, she is so adorable and brilliant.
When all of this series finishes, there should be a spin-off featuring Annie all grown up. This should be the first book in a series of women as special Opps. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
I received a free copy of this book.
Read the whole series loved everyone of them kept me up all night reading the books Love Susan Stoke”s book’s can’t wait to read more
I’m not sure what it was about this story, but it hit right in feels the whole way through. My heart ached for Emily, and as much as Annie gave some levity, the weight of the burden Emily felt through almost the entire book weighed on my feelings. It took quite a bit for things to work out right for the characters involved, and I kept rooting for them, waiting for them to get on the same page, the right foot. There was only a few moments when it happened, and you knew the trouble was going to strike before too long. It did, and surprisingly, the weight lifted, because you knew it was finally going to be set to rest. Loved Emily, loved Fletch, and loved little Annie!
But really, the star of the show here was six-year-old Annie. Emily’s daughter is smart and precocious and layered. She’s occasionally annoying, as kids can be, but she’s interesting and clever too. Emily is an excellent mom and Fletch really steps up to help mother and daughter. Fantastic adventure with plenty of steam!
“Rescuing Emily’ is the second book in the Delta Force Heroes series and it is the story of Cormac “Fletch” Fletcher and Emily Grant who is the mother of little Annie. Fletch wants to rent out the apartment over his garage so that someone is around to keep a check on things when he is away on missions. Emily needs somewhere safe for her and her daughter to live, because where they are living at now is anything but safe. When Emily sees the ad for this apartment the problem is solved for them both, until a big misunderstanding gets them all in trouble.
Emily and Annie both quickly crept their way into Fletch’s heart and he will do anything to keep them safe, after all it is someone he knows, holding a grudge that is causing the problem.
Let’s face it though, Annie is the real star in this book, smart way beyond her years, not afraid of anything and very well behaved. She has all the guys on the team eating out of the palm of her hand, they love her at first sight and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and happy. My heart broke a little with the toy that Fletch gave her, but Annie was a brave little soldier that will steal your heart too!!
Just absolutely loved this story. Annie, Emily’s daughter is the amazing and so freaking adorable. I found myself laughing out loud several times just from the things that come out of her mouth. Emily answers and add for an apartment to rent from ‘Fletch’. And they instantly have a connection. Fletch loves the little girl and can’t seem to stay away from her mother either. When misunderstandings force them apart, due to conniving poor excuses for soldiers who were butt hurt after a training exercise against the Deltas. Takes his pleasure in getting dogs in on the team. He goes after Emily and Annie but soon quickly learns you don’t mess with Delta or their family. Loved the relationship between the three of them it was so heartfelt and realistic.
This book wasn’t too bad. U get hints about his interest in Emily but she has problems of her own with a blackmailer and trying to provide for her daughter and keeping enough to eat for her daughter. You also get recaps back to ghost and rayne instead of focusing completely on this couple.
I loved Fletch, Emily and especially Annie. It was great to see their love build.
Annie is just the cutest. This was one amazing story full of drama and love. Highly recommend.
This is by far my favorite from Susan Stoker! Maybe it’s because there’s a little girl! And she’s a little toughy!
Alpha protector, surviving single mom and the most adorable little girl
Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heros Book 2) by Susan Stoker will pull your heart strings, make your heart sing and get your pulse pounding. This book was a really wonderful read. Fletch, Emily and Annie make it so wonderful. Fletch is drool-worthy alpha who will just make you swoon from beginning to end. I couldn’t help but admire Emily. Everything she did was to help others rather than herself. Annie is absolutely adorable and this author did a fantastic job of creating this realistic gifted 6 year old!
The pulse pounding plot of this book compels the reader to soak up every word as quickly as possible, making this one a page turner. The threats and suspense toward Emily and her daughter were downright menacing which evolve into Emily getting seriously sick creating yet more drama, but presenting an opportunity to finally get help.
Overall, this wonderfully well writing military romance will pull the heart strings to breaking with it’s sweetness then turn right around and put you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. All the characters in this book (as well as the series) are well developed, awe inspiring and unique. As expected, Fletch is the hero (three times!) for Emily and Annie giving them the opportunity to have their HEA. And it’s a really great one too!
I really liked Rescuing Emily, Fletch was amazing, almost right up there with Ghost. Emily was a good character, and I even liked Annie, and I’m not one for kids in my books. I can’t wait to read the next book.
