Cannot tolerate crude language! Stopped reading it almost immediately! Not happy!
I was wrapped up in the story from the first chapter. Love the characters.
Awesome
Wow. This book has it all. Romance, suspense, plot twists, characters that you just fall in love with, strong females and swoon worthy males. The story had me captivated from the beginning and I look forward to reading more of the McKenzie Ridge series.
When I first read the synopsis of Rescued I was on board. What is better than a smexy EMT, a feisty nurse, both battling their past demons to find happiness in the present? Immediately brought me back to my days of loving Grey’s Anatomy except even better. There was so much to love about this novel, and knowing it was the debut for Stephanie St. Klaire leads me to give even more praise, but I will do what I can to keep this shorter than a novel, that way you can get to clicking buy and reading the book even faster.
First off the writing is beautiful, the story was flawless and flowed effortlessly. There was not a time that I set the book down because I wanted it too. It was mainly because it was after midnight and I felt my eyes closing without permission. And even then I would just do a shake and continue on until I woke the next morning still holding my phone because I fell asleep reading. I just could not put it down and it took just straight up passing out to make me put it down.
Each twist and turn of the story left me baffled and doing everything I could to come up with the answers they were all so desperately searching more themselves. Rescued holds just the right amount of drama, love, family, lost, angst, and mystery to leave me complete as a reader. The story was written to tie everything up in a nice neat bow so that the reader would not have to continue with the series, or could pick up a future novel in the series and start there. However, I recommend reading Rescued now to be ready for the rest of the series that is to come. Plus if you are like me you hate cliff hangers, I want the ending and can’t stand when I am forced to wait for it.
My only complaint after reading this book is that I wanted more. St. Klaire wove a tail that was so intriguing and addictive as a reader I wanted more. I needed more about these characters as well as the supporting characters that surrounded the main couple. She fed me just enough about all of them that left me starving for more from this series.
I truly believe that what we can expect to come from this author is just improvement. This is one author to keep your eye on for sure. I for one, am very much looking forward to the continuation of this series as well as what might be gifted to us from her talented mind. A MUST read for anyone who likes their romances to be sweet and sexy with a twist of danger.

What a great book for a debut novel! Dawson and Sam’s story has it all – mystery, suspense, drama, and lots of hot chemistry! Looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
What can I say about this book but wow! I could not put it down. This story had my attention from the very first chapter. Well done to Stephanie. Sam had such a rough start with her mom being the way she was. I can see why she didn’t date or trust. Then to have someone try to kill her. Thank goodness for Dawson. He also had reason to not trust. But he found a family again in Sam and her precious daughter. Fantastic story!
First let me say that I love that the McKenzie Ridge Series is based out of my home state of Oregon. Although this is the authors debut novel Stephanie St. Klaire didn’t write like it was. She created characters that are ‘al and honest. The characters come to life and make the reader feel like you’re a part of their lives. I love it when a good book does that for a reader. I also liked that this wasn’t another insta love story. The love between Sam and Dawson grew over time. They didn’t get an easy HEA either, they had a very bumpy ride along the way. Once they got there wow the chemistry between them was on fire. I look forward to reading more about McKenzie Ridge.
MAN!! That was AWESOME. This author just snuck in and nailed it. There are little hints here and there that more is going on but that’s all there is at least in the suspense part of the story. This love thing tales them both by surprise and on it’s on is a great story but add in the back story and the suspense and how it all plays out and you have a winner. I have read some of this authors other work but nothing prepared me for this. I need more and will be reading more especially about the peeps of McKenzie ridge and the ones who tame their rugged ways.
The main characters are awesome but I gotta tell you the kid and Grams still the show. I laughed so hard at the conversations between Dawson and Ellie as they get to know each other and Gram with her drink and innuendos keep it light. But the secrets and pain and the suspense knock it out the park. You gotta read it and I gotta read the next book in the series.
Sam doesn’t date so when Dawson asks her out for dinner she suggests breakfast, this starting a non date tradition. Sam has many issues and has put up a wall of defense around men and relationships. Dawson is not without his own walls, he never wanted to be close with anyone. Just when things are looking up Sam is critically injured in a car accident. Dawson is by her side, and is slowly falling in love with Sam and her family. Now she just needs to recover, figure who is out to harm her and feel for Dawson what he feels for her. Great book and can’t wait to read the next one.
This was wonderful sweet and sensual story. Dawson and Sam are wonderful couple. Dawson is so protective of her. My favorite line is ” This. You consume me, every part of me, in every way possible. It feels right ….I have this overwhelming need to be with you take of you protect you …kidnap you. “Dawson is so devoted to Sam. The interaction he has with her daughter Ellie is adorable. Looking forward to Colton’s story and I hope Evie has story ( I loved her character). This is wonderful start to this series.
Stephanie St Klaire wrote a phenomenal story here. Two people determined not to date, let alone fall in love. Sam and Dawson are hot together. The other side of the story is that someone is trying to get rid of Sam. I love Stephanie writing. I literally couldn’t put this book down. This is my first Stephanie St. Klaire book and hers as well. An awesome read will keep you on the edge of your seat, Keep you guessing, think you know and bam your wrong.
I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t just a romance but it had a bit of suspense to it and that was a nice change. I really enjoyed Sam & Dawson as individuals and as a couple. I also liked Granny Lou and Ellie Lou, they were great for their comedy. With a book that isn’t necessarily a light hearted romance the comedy of those two made the book not so serious. Overall I really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
Debut novel?? No Way! What a fantastic beginning for a new to me and new to everyone author!
We’re introduced to McKenzie Ridge, a small town in Oregon. Typical of a small town, everyone knows everyone!
Having worked as an EMT in a small town in California, I could relate to Dawson, the hunky EMT who seemed to be able to have any woman he wanted. I’m a girl…but I could relate!
Sam is a tiny RN ready to take on the world AND Dawson…but only as friends. Breakfast is NOT dating, until it is.
Lots of twists and turns. I’m loving the suspense Ms. St. Klaire puts into her writing. Definitely keeps you guessing right up to the HEA!
A really great romance filled with humor, mystery, sweet love and a little bit of suspense. I enjoyed the story of Sam, Dawson and the residents of McKenzie Ridge. Stephanie St. Klaire’s way with words pulled me into the pages right from the beginning and took me on a fantastic ride. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Wow! What a first novel from Stephanie St. Klaire! From the opening word, you are drawn into the story & kept enthralled through to the end. The plot line moves at a perfect pace while enabling the background story to be revealed. The characters are realistic & lovable. The main characters, Dawson & Sam, have their own histories that they have to try to overcome if they want to be together. The details add so much to the story by enabling you to fix a picture in your mind of what the scene is.
Stephanie has a fresh & appealing writing style. She mixes humor, romance, & mystery together to tell a terrific story. I can’t wait for the next in the series & whatever else she produces. If you like your romance mixed in with danger & a HEA, you can’t miss with this book!
