A suspense romance novel filled with community, friendship, and forgiveness from Lyz Kelley, an award-winning author of Blinded. She swore never to speak to him again. Even if he was her first. She can’t refuse her brother anything, even if the promised is to check on Thad, the guy who left town without a word ten years ago. She’s been waiting a long time for him to tell her why he disappeared. time for him to tell her why he disappeared.
He owes her an explanation. Heck, he owes her a lot more.
Helping her train service dogs would be a nice start to rebuilding their friendship. More than a working relationship is out of the question. He might be perfect in every way, but she won’t ever open her heart again to the pain.
Thad might want to pick up where they left off, but she can’t risk it.
He can never know her secret.

Every book in this series is fantastic. And with each new title added, they just keep getting better and better. Each installment built on the last, enriching the fabric of Elkridge, introducing us to some of her most influential citizens, and providing us with essential clues to who killed sheriff Sam Gaccione and why. I can’t say I’m completely surprised by who the bad guys are but I totally wasn’t expecting the actual mastermind it turns out to be. Keep the tissues handy because you’re probably going to need them before the end of this emotional roller-coaster ride. Karly and Thad both have deep emotional wounds. So deep that maybe they shouldn’t even attempt a relationship. But the heart wants what it wants and these two brave souls show us that growth can happen even in the least likely circumstances.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This was a book that pulled together a series plot arc. It was just wonderful to finally get all the puzzle pieces to put together! The characters were ones that you can’t help but fall for! The storyline was exciting and engaging! Highly recommend not only this book but the series as well!
Lyz Kelley’s goal in writing this series was to present heartfelt characters and heavy topics with a powerful core, highlighting honorable men , brave women and a love to heal them. Well, she has surpassed her goal. This series was dynamite and Rescued ends it just beautifully. Thad and Karly were phenomenal characters that just pulled at your emotions. The storyline was so good and just wrapped up the series so well. The love story was done so well that this could easily be read as a stand alone, but why anyone would want to read just it, is beyond me. It was a winner from beginning to end.
Rescued is Thad and Karly’s second chance love story. These two go through so much to get their HEA and the twists and turns captivated me until the very last page. We also get to finally find out who killed the Sheriff and why. Wow! This is a well written story full of suspense, angst, mystery, love, believable characters and adorable animals. Although it’s sad to have this series end I loved the way Lyz Kelley ended it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

My Review:
Lyz Kelley is one of most creative authors I’ve read when it comes to consistently fabricating unusual main characters, not only are they uniquely flawed yet endearingly lovable, she also imbues them with a heart-squeezing background and lingering soul crushing personal issues. Thankfully, she also shines welcome beacons of amusing humor and tosses in a few steamy sensual scenes to occasionally break up the angst and suspenseful tension. Thad was a complex character who struggled with several significant personal and physical issues as he transitioned back into civilian life after ten years in the Army. He was returning as a wounded warrior with PTSD issues, as well residual feelings of worthlessness, which were often bordering on suicidal, from an abusive childhood. I was quite taken with Ms. Kelley’s inventive flair of often noting Thad’s thoughts with #hashtags. Lyz Kelley is a crafty one.
