Thrust back in time to 16th century Scotland, Anna finds herself embroiled in a vicious witch hunt and growing attraction for Laird Donal… from near-drowning by the handsome and strong Laird Donal Grant, Anna is forced to accept that magic and time-travel are real, as are her attraction and affection for the Scotsman.
Laird Donal Grant struggles against a mounting distrust for the old ways. When Anna appears from the future, he’s captivated by her but also refuses to acknowledge her combat skills or accept her as an equal in that regard.
With the threat from the witch hunters looming and the fae increasingly concerned about losing their connection to the clan, Donal and Anna must come together to defend a way of life one loves and the other is only beginning to understand.

Imagine going to bed in present time and waking up in a totally old time. The shock would be incredible. The author has brought the feeling of confusion, resentment and terror of being in an age when men ruled and women are little better than slaves.
I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this story. It is the kind that you can identify with the characters and immerse yourself in the story. Very well written and characters to win the heart make this book a must read.

I couldn’t wait to get to Annie and Donal’s story because it was full of magic and competitive spirit. Annie was a career soldier from the future sent back to Medieval Scotland by the Sidth for a purpose originally unknown to her. Upon meeting Laird Donal, tempers aren’t the only thing that fly especially when Anna tries to convince Donal of her special military training. He scoffs at women warriors and she must prove to him gender doesn’t matter. There is a new enemy to defeat and they all must unite to prevent witch hunters from not only taking over the village but attacking the castle as well. I really liked the action in the story and couldn’t wait to turn the page.
Absolutely fabulous. I love Scottish Time travels and strong women. This has both. Anna is a modern warrior with fighting skills and historical knowledge. When she is thrust into the past and rescued by Donal Grant she puts her skills to use. He’s stunned that she’s from the future and surprised that she can fight. This was different because they are fighting against the Fae but they learned to work together. So often in time travels the woman suddenly becomes totally dependent even though in the present she was self sufficient. I liked the characters, the difference in the story line and the fact that she stayed strong even out of time and had skills that were useful. I’m ready for more! (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
This is an action packed, thrilling adventure through time filled with intriguing charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion… was a edge of your seat read from beginning to end. Really loved this first adventure in this exciting new series and look forward to more.
Anna goes back in time ending up in a lake being pushed to the top by none other than Nessie the Loch Ness Monster?! Donal is the Laird of the castle and is waiting on Anna when she arrives because Maggie told him she would be arriving. They fight witch hunters and fall in love. Will she stay? Does she want to stay? Fun read

Rescued By The Highlander is the first book in the Highlander Forever series and I want to read the next book. Anna Clarke a martial arts expert gets thrust back in time to sixteenth century Scotland where she almost drowns and is rescued by Laird Donal Grant. This story has suspense, drama, danger, two very evil men, magic, Nessie, Sidhe, mercenary forces, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
