I woke from cryostasis a prisoner. My crime? I have no idea. I was stuck with a hundred other women, all headed to who knows where. Captive in a dank, dirty cargo hold. Then, out of the darkness, came Solair. A handsome alien. Golden skinned. Horned. The dashing captain of a pirate ship. They rescued us–he gave my people food, shelter, and promised us safety. In exchange? He took me for himself. … safety. In exchange?
He took me for himself.
But the people who captured us, haven’t given up. They want us back. They’re powerful and will do whatever it takes to find us. The only thing stopping them?
Solair.
He wants me. And what he takes…
He keeps.

This was a good book. It kept me going just to see what was next and what had happened to these girls. Be prepared to continue with the series, though, because it ends on a cliffhanger and you have to read the next.
What a fun entry into the world of the Kilgari and their mates! I picked up Rescued by the Alien Pirate as part of my recent alien-abduction romance bingefest, and was instantly hooked. What starts as a story about a former space marine rescued by a hot, gold-skinned alien with an extra…um…*feature*…quickly turns into a steamy tale about two leaders learning to work together in a newly mixed crew. I love the balance the characters find–and I’m off to read the next book in the series, because this story left just enough of an unsolved mystery to keep me going. Five enthusiastic stars!
Wow! This was a fast read that set up a really good series of strong independent women and a lot of potential matches that come to their rescue. Varia with military background is a perfect match for this spacefaring captain/pirate Solair. When they team up things really get moving, including the heat between them. I really enjoyed this read.
This is the first in a series that features a different couple for each story.
This was a good first book in a new series. I appreciated the into that gave context to the races and political powers in play at this time in the universe. I was puzzled why a group of women from different walks of life (and surprisingly specialized knowledge and technical skills) would have been taken and then labelled as terrorists. Captain Solair and Varia have a heated connection right from the start when he rescues the women from what looked like an abandoned IHC freighter. At first the heat seems to be from a clash of leadership, but evolves to something else. It was helpful to hear Solaris and Varia’s thoughts in alternating chapters from each of their POV. The quirky dialogue mostly instigated by the women interwoven with human/pop culture phrases made me smile. I did feel that the women in general really dominated these hot aliens-a byproduct of Kilgari matriarchal society or just rude bossy women? Overall an enjoyable read despite ending in a cliffhanger. While immediate action needs to be addressed, there were enough hinted connections between other crew members to lead into subsequent books.

Attraction at First Sight! Varia and 106 human females were arrested and put in cryopods aboard a large space ship. About half the woman came out of cryostasis. Then Solair and Varia met when he saved her from that ship that was losing it’s capability to maintain life support. Theirs was a test of very strong wills, Solair for the Kilgari and Varia for the humans. After a lot of back and forth arguing about conditions on Solair’s Ancestral Queen, their attraction won out and they were mated.
Great story…I love the differences and similarities that each group has. That innately we are all a lot more alike than one would think. Solair and Varia are both so strong and it is engaging to see how they soften each other when needed. The world building was amazing. I am not the most imaginative person but I could picture the Queen, the space station, just even space. Can’t wait to read the next story.
Glad I stuck with it! This book starts off slow but is steadily building steam. The characters are decidedly split evenly but you can feel the imminent merge with all the not too subtle foreshadowing. The mystery that starts the show is just the top-level but the possibilities for future unraveling will totally hook you.
great read
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

I’m loving the characters in this new paranormal series that doesn’t disappoint. Varia and Solair are two strong leaders and when they first meet it can’t be helped that sparks fly between them. And what happens next when they find themselves together in such a small space makes for an entertaining read from start to finish. I loved the development of their characters in this well written storyline and enjoyed their many banter. If your a fan of paranormal romance than this is a definite must read for you. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This was a great story and I can’t wait for more from the author.in this story there is lots of romance some humor and some action.

I enjoyed this book. Was okay. Though I felt like throwing Varia out the airlock a couple of times. She seemed very entitled to me, even though she got saved from a horrible fate! Solair had a lot of patience to accept her. Read to find out if they ever work through their problems and grow up….

Varia has woken up trapped in a cargo hold with lots of other women who were all in cryo pods. She has no idea how they got there or where in space and time they are.
Solair is the captain of a spaceship that doesn’t always stay the right side of the laws. When he sees a ship that appears dead in space with minimal life forms registering, he’s hoping to make a good profit.
This is a sexy Sci-Fi romance. All our characters are thrown into circumstances outside of what they are used to, with alien beings that don’t always react as expected.
Lots of sexy fun.
Even though this book has so much drama and suspense and possibilities. I was dismayed that it took so long to get the whole story told.

This book was captivating right from the get go and I loved every minute of it. The intrigue, drama, kidnapping, being found, conflict, anger, flirting and eventually falling in love. Varia is a small time black market trader and was once in the IHC military but retired now, so how the hell did she end up being kidnapped with 107 other women that are stuck in a loading bay in cryopods that have just started to open up and with dazed women coming out of them. Something is very wrong and soon they realize they are on there own and will die without help. That’s when a tall sexy good looking alien man appears and saves them all, his name is Captain Solair and Varia doesn’t trust him or his crew. Solair doesn’t understand what he is seeing a whole cargo hold full of women just left behind but why? and why is the crew of the Frontier all dead. The fisety redhead Varia has captured his attention straight away but she couldn’t be his mate could she, only time will tell and a kiss that will tell him he is right about her but for now he will help them as best as he can aboard his ship the Ancestral Queen. So what happens when to different races come together for the first time, sparks fly.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Varia Dawn and Solair . When Varia wakes up from the cryogenic sleep she has been put into she has no clue what has happened and that is just the beginning of her problems. She finds others that wake after her but most of them are still asleep which is a good thing. There is little water, even less food and power to the location she is being held in keeps going in and out. Solair is part of a race that have become pirates to survive. When they get a distress signal they think it will be something worth checking out. Little did they know what they would find. Can these two work together and learn what they truly are to one another or will the people who originally took Varia and all the rest of the women take them all from this crew?
This is another amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you on the edge of your seat from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Extremely enjoyable with hot aliens. A very humourous and quirky yet engaging sci fi romance. I loved the tech and individual characters aboard ship. Varia, her friend and over 100 more women are rescued from a dying ship by Solair and his crew in a coincidence of right place, right time. The way to true love and fated mates is not smooth with the influx of women aboard an all male ship leading to overcrowding and high tensions.
There is a mystery surrounding why the women were transported into space and by whom which keeps you guessing.

Both Solair and Varia seem like really competent and likable people… until they meet each other. Then they’re just annoying. But that doesn’t distract from the story line. There’s the increasing mystery as to why these individual women were on the ship, and the more facts they accumulate, the more questions arise. In the meantime, Solair’s ship doubles in occupancy with an even ratio of genders. And they start making googly eyes at each other right off the bat. While Solair’s being kind of a arse, and Varia’s being single minded, the rest of the crew are learning to combine their different cultures to reinvent the cultural and physical workings of the ship.
It’s not as dark as I had thought it would be, but I can go either way, so that didn’t disappoint, and it was nice to kind of see a sort of neutral party among the warring factions of the Athenaverse; How long that neutrality remains, however, will depend on how the mystery surrounding the ladies’ abduction unfold, and how dedicated the Kilgari crew are to the new group of ladies who have upended their lives.

Rescue me. But don’t get in my way! How in the world of him with all that is going on in this crazy universe did this pirate save me and my family and friends and others? Good gravy! I cannot get any crazier with the attraction that we have for each other. But resistance is futile apparently because we keep butting heads. Oh the time. There have to be and Epiphany happening sometime that is going to make us click. Because I can’t take it anymore and Dag nab it I think he’s resisting the attraction, well to an extent. Fun fun fun on this ship salvage or not will we salvage this relationship without killing each other or losing faith in each others abilities? Fabulous read.
