James is merely the third son of a viscount, a position where he won’t inherit a title or a fortune, so he sets off to make his own. While the majority of his work as a ship’s captain is legal, he has been known to smuggle a bit, something that could send him to the gallows. One night, he taken hostage by a band of men who want his ship and his beautiful sister. When he defies them, they cut off his hand and toss him into the sea.
Ione has drifted along in her underwater kingdom for years, the outcast of her flashier sisters. She wants more out of life than to breed with a human male and then send him to his grave. And when one in need of her help floats into her ocean, she can’t help but go against every instinct she has, just to save his life.
Poseidon is feeling generous and gives James a hook for a hand and Ione three days on land to decide her future. But when the men that attacked James are still at large and everyone in the ton wants to know more about the mysterious beauty on his arm, three days might feel like a lifetime.
First of all, I love the gods and goddesses in London theme. They pop in and out of mortals’ lives, sometimes doing good and sometimes tossing them to the Kraken. I’m really into the theme and I’m going to look into the rest of the books in the series to get my fix.
Ione is charming, funny, and practical beyond words when it comes to silly human rules like not being able to ride in a carriage with a man and not dancing the waltz too often. She is a modern woman in a mermaid world who doesn’t need a man to be happy, but she wouldn’t mind taking one for a spin. The whole book, I was rooting for her to get her guy, get her legs, and get everything else in the world she wanted. Sure, James is great too, but Ione is a smart mermaid with a quick wit, so she’s my obvious favorite.
It’s always so funny to me when a narrator goes from one extreme to the other without pause. The first work of Green’s I listened to was a squeaky clean romance with a few pecks, but this book has a lot more steam than that! But I guess that’s what’s impressive about voice actors, they need to have a certain kind of flexibility to allow them to cover so many different kinds of works.
Overall, this book is funny, interesting, different, sexy without being erotic, and a must read…or listen. I’m really not picky, as long as you grab a copy.

This was my first Rebekah Lewis’s book, and won’t be the last. This is the first book in the London Mythos Series. James and Ione are great opposites characters. They share a strong and instant attraction/love. Their story is so sweet, sexy, fun, and beautiful. This is a great Fantasy Tale and Historical Romance, and I enjoyed it so much! Now, I am looking forward for the next book in the Series. Megan Green did an amazing narration. I love her voice and beautiful accent. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Nice romance. I loved it.
James is the third son of his family. He captains a ship He is attacked by a young man who wants his ship and his business, and thrown into the sea to die. He is rescued by Ione when he thought he will die. Ione is a mermaid, And she asks Poseidon for help to save him.
Ione wants to leave her life behind. XHer sisters are gone, and she is unhappy because no one sees her as she is.
I loved James. He’s a smuggler, but he’s also a good man who cares about his crew, and would do anything to protect his family. He wants to be with Ione, to share his life with her, although he doesn’t understand what she sees in him..
Ione is generous. She helps James without expecting anything in return. She didn’t expect to fall in love. She wanted to live on land before she met him, and then she wanted to share everything with him. He didn’t want to decide for her, nor did he needs to rescue her.
James had lived an empty life until he met her. He wasn’t happy. Now he is. He wants to share his life with a wonderful woman who gives up her past for him. He doesn’t feel worthy of her, but he is, because he leaves her… Because he wants her to be herself, not to change.
Both of them feel that they are not worthy of the other. The two love each other from the first moment. Both want to care for and protect the other.
I loved them together, Ione’s mischievousness, James’ romantic side.
And I love the ring scene.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
This was a well written book a mermaid not like the others and the third son a a nobleman come together in the unlikeliest of ways and fall in love. This story will keep you interested from the first page to the last. James and Ione must not only find out if they belong together in three days when she gives up her fins to go on land with James but thwart a villain in their midst. This is my first book by the author but I have to say I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this romance.
A well-written story that held my interest until the last page. There is suspense, drama, danger, an villain who cares for no one but himself, Poseidon, and romance. I want to read the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I thought this was definitely a fantastic book and I honestly couldn’t put it down! James and Ione are very strong interesting characters with such a wonderfully creative storyline. The entire book is very entertaining and I really enjoyed the laugh out loud parts along with the sweet romantic ones. The author Rebekah Lewis has a wonderful way of drawing you and your imagination into the story right along with these characters and the creative mythical ones!
This was a stand alone book but I’m hoping to one day read more stories about Ione’s mythical sisters, and cousins. It’s was my first time reading a book by Miss Lewis and I’m really looking forward to reading more!
I read this ARC book in exchange for an honest review.
