Loved Rescued by a Highlander, my first Keira Montclair book. Keira created a wonderful hero and heroine and a very touching story.
I don’t read a ton of historical anymore, but I really enjoyed this one by Keira Montclair. There’s just something about a growly, possessive highlander that I love!
Had me from page one. You just have to continue reading, had to know what was going on with the characters. When the book was finished, I was so attached to the characters that I had to immediately purchase book 2. Book 2 left me in character withdrawal and needing more so I immediately launched into Book 3. Unless there’s a an emergency, I’ m …
WOW what a story. Madeline is being abused in the early chapters by her “step-brother. That part was hard to read but she is rescued by Alex and his brother. She is taken to his Keep where she is able to recover. There are twists and turns that kept me very interested. A great story and hard to put down.
I actually think this was a pretty decent story. There was definitely some hard parts to read and for that reason this book isn’t for everyone, but I won’t judge it based solely on that alone. I find a lot of these types of books gloss over the harsh realities of that time period and romanticize everything. I have to respect an author who tries …
Madeline and Alex’s story
Maddie was abused and mistreated by her brother, Kenneth. Kenneth allowed the man that he wanted Maddie to marry to rape her. When Alex and Brodie came to talk to Kenneth about people stealing their cattle, Alex discovers Maddie beaten and bruised.
The story has twists and turns than make an original story. I really …
I enjoyed being transported to Scotland during the 1200’s. Horses, sword fighting, rescue from evil, castles and more. It was a quick read full of action with no down time.
“It runs through all our folklore, all human religions, all our literature—a racial conviction that when one human needs rescue, others should not count the price.”
–Robert A. Heinlein, Starship Troopers
Book 1 of 8 in the Clan Grant Series: Source: this was a free offer through Amazon [12-23-17]: Rating MA [->17]: This is not to be ignored: …
This was a wonderful beginning to this series of books. I fell in love with these characters and this family. I can’t wait to read each of their stories.
I loved this couple – Alex was kind, understanding and tender in the healing of Maddie’s physical & mental injuries due to her abuse. Maddie was so strong in overcoming her past & she still had the strength to heal Alex’ pain from the past. It had believable characters, a touching with a wonderful ending. I am looking forward to reading more in …
I had previously read a short story by the author and really enjoyed it, but this is my first novel penned by her. I loved the Grant Clan in the short story, and this is back to the beginning of it all. I was a bit disappointed. I found the dialogue somewhat stiff, and the characters seemed childish, or young, which some were. The subject matter …
Rescued by a Highlander is one rollercoaster ride of emotions of mental and physical abuse of our heroine Madeline. Alex and Madeline steal your heart as you read their story, you cry with Madeline, feel the hatred both feel for the two villains but also you feel the healing of Madeline because if Alex love. With wonderful secondary characters …
This story revolves around Maddie and the situation she’s in. She is abused by family and wants to leave. When Alec finds out he goes in to rescue her. Of course that doesn’t go over well with the family and they come looking for her. May have triggers for some. HEA
Yes I enjoyed this book. It grabs your attention from the start. Not dull.
** spoiler alert ** Following the deaths of her parents, Madeline is in her stepbrother’s cruel control. To force her to marry a man of his choosing, he betrothes her against her will, allows the other man to take her virginity and beats/tortures her in effort to get her agreement.
Laird Alexander Grant knows that he may be leading his clan to …
Great start to the series
I didn’t like it. It is very repetitive and it goes round and round about arousal.
Too much repetition ans sex.h
Enjoyed this book.
