After losing his first love to death, Cole takes off on his motorcycle and goes to places that have been hit with destruction and helps them rebuild. He is running away from his pain. His brothers want him to come home and help run the farm. On his way home for a visit he is run off the road by the local vet who has been up all night tending to animals.
Susan loves her profession but she is ignoring her health. It’s 2 am and her third night up late tending emergencies. She falls asleep at the wheel and almost collides with a motorcycle. Sparks fly as he reprimands her for her lack of good sense and she highly resents it.
This is one book you’ll want to read.

I purchase a copy of the novel Rescue ME, COWBOY: Enhanced Edition (Turner Creek Ranch Book 2)aka Her Forever Cowboy/Texas Matchmakers by Debra Clopton and this review was given freely.
Debra Clopton includes ironic humor in this opposites attract, second chance at love romance featuring a protective Alpha playboy who loves wanders to try to avoid the grief of moving on after the death of his first love and an overworked vet who longs for both a family and stability. Cole takes a break from rescue and relief missions to visit his brother Seth and his new wife Melody but gets more than he bargained for when his oldest brother Wyatt and the town’s matchmakers set him up with the outspoken and work driven local vet Susan who almost hit him in a head on collision.
Love, love, love the Mule Hallow series. And of course anything Debra Clopton writes.
Really love the whole series! Light, fun read.
This was a very sweet, positive story. I liked it very much.
Always know that her books are enjoyable.
Book 2 begins a few months after Seth’s story and features the youngest brother, Cole. We learn that Cole has lost someone he loved deeply and is struggling with reconciling his loss with his prayers to God. He’s in a similar situation many people find themselves – not understanding why God let them die. As a result, he has become a drifter – riding his motorcycle from one rescue site to another. He figures that even if his life is in chaos, he can at least help someone else who’s experienced their own tragedy.
The book opens with Cole riding back home to Mule Hollow because his eldest brother, Wyatt, talked him into coming for a visit. However, as he nears home, he’s almost run down by the new vet in town who’s accidentally fallen asleep at the wheel! Scared that she’s injured, his fear turns to anger when he realizes that she’s worked herself so hard that it almost cost her her life.
Susan Worth is fiercely independent and doesn’t appreciate being told what to do! She works hard for her reputation, even if that involves late night emergencies. What she doesn’t admit is that she struggles to allow anyone to get close to her heart, especially a guy who may ride off into the sunset and never look back.
What follows is a tender story of forgiveness, renewed faith, and realizing that God can use people who are dying just as much as anyone else, and that there might have been a reason he let them die. It’s also a story of two lonely people finally realizing that they don’t have to stay lonely. And, finally, it’s encouragement to be like the townsfolk who didn’t give up – who were honest about their feelings and intentions and let God handle the rest.
Language – PG / clean
Romance – PG / kissing
Violence – truck runs off road, character has a close call with a horse,
My rating – 5 stars
Loved it
Rescue Me, Cowboy is the second book in the Turner Creek Ranch series. Susan is a workaholic, a vet that is putting her patients before her health, sleep, and love. One night, she almost runs down Cole as she falls asleep driving. Cole is the cowboy who traded his horses for his motorcycle and left town. With others assisting in matchmaking, they are bound to be thrown together often. Will they find something in each other that completes them? I really enjoyed this story. Definitely one not to miss.
