If dating your brother’s best friend is playing with fire…I want to get burned.Meredith wants nothing more than a week of rest and relaxation. An escape to tropical Breakers Bay should do the trick. What she doesn’t count on is a sexy mystery man sweeping her off her feet. But maybe a wild, no-strings-attached fling is exactly what she needs before she goes back to her all-work-no-play life. At … all-work-no-play life.
At least, that’s the plan…
Cole has long since perfected the spring break fling. His history with women has taught him that anything more isn’t worth the heartache. Until Meredith sparks feelings in him that are far more dangerous than lust.
It seems he may have finally met his match…
What neither of them count on is just how closely their lives are intertwined, and just how off-limits they are to each other. But there’s no denying the fire simmering between them. Will they let their passion ignite? Or is the heat too much to handle?

The is a fun, sexy, holiday romance. Cole and Meredith were not supposed to fall in love, the plan was to have a fling and go back to the lives they aren’t happy living, but things don’t go to plan. Brandon is overprotective and causes problems that should not exist but they all get it together in the end. This is a great start to the series.
This was sexy vacation fling romance that was slightly forbidden because Cole was Meredith’s brother Brandon’s best friend that tuned into something more. I can’t wait to read Brandon and Katrina’s romance in the next book.
A perfect mix of sweet and heat in this first in series. Great characters and hot chemistry will leave readers hungry for more than a vacation fling. Can Meredith and Cole keep their fling a secret, or will it become a lasting kind of love?
I highly recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romance genre.
Christine Kingsley gives us a wonderful best friend’s sibling romance. I fell in love with Meredith and Cole from the start. Their attraction was instant and electric, but what I loved the most was the slow build-up, the sensual dance around what they could not deny. When that spark ignited, it was explosive. It was all-consuming. They agreed to a no-strings flee, their time was limited. But when you have the intensity of what Meredith and Cole have, finite time is not possible.
I’m looking forward to seeing what is next in the Breakers Bay series.
I love this new series. Rescue Me centers around Meredith and Cole. They meet at her brother’s resort, Breakers Bay. Cole doesn’t know that she’s Brandon’s little sister and off-limits, as far as Brandon is concerned. Meredith decides to let loose and enjoy her vacation and she’s attracted to Cole when she sees him across the room. They end up spending the night together, but she passes out. The next morning, she is livid to think that Cole took advantage of her. She sneaks off. Imagine her surprise when Cole is who Brandon has set her up with for boating lessons. They get everything worked out that nothing happened, after she blacked out. They eventually decide to have a fling, but decide to keep Brandon in the dark. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for the next book to publish.

I received a free copy of the rereleased short novel Breaker’s Bay book 1: Rescue Me by Christine Kingsley and this review was given freely.
An emotion packed and easy flowing falling in love with your brother’s best friend romance. New York Broker Meredith finally visits her equally workaholic brother Brandon at his Breaker’s Bay resort in Florida only to meet the search and rescue Coast Guard officer Cole. Circumstances throw them together resulting in some steamy scenes, Meredith regaining her love for dance, and Meredith questioning her career path.
I enjoyed the second reading as much as the first.
Extremely likeable, believable couple that is thrown together by fate and has fun and realistic hurdles to overcome together. Miscommunications lead to the all so common misunderstandings. Sweet, Fun, Relaxing and Entertaining Romantic Journey.
Meredith Jacobs is sweet, funny and in serious need of a relaxing vacation where she can just let go of her All-Work-No-Play life. Her brother runs a tropical resort in beautiful Breakers Bay and it is the perfect excuse to visit an let go for a few days. Cole Phillips has been burned by love and has learned to keep his heart guarded. (one encounter with Meredith has him rethinking a lot of things) He is a Search and Rescue Officer but is spending some time at his buddy’s resort in Breakers Bay helping out and catching some rays. Sparks fly when they first encounter each other little do they know they have a person in common. … Loved every fun little twist in this heart felt sunny romance!! Looking forward to my next visit to Breakers Bay!
Who can resist a HOT brother’s best friend…
Especially in beautiful Breakers Bay resort. This insta-attraction story is fun and snarky and takes you through all of the “feels” with our lively characters. Meredith and Cole are written so realistically we think we know them, and love them. The Florida resort is sort of a character itself bringing memories of warm water sports to life on a cold winter’s day in this sweet sexy tale.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Meredith and Cole both needing a change in their life when they meet each other while on a vacation at her brother Brandon’s resort. Cole and Brandon are friends and Cole was helping Brandon out at the resort. Cannot wait to read the next one in the series.
This is definitely a fun, sexy, feel good read, with heat. Meredith and Cole found themselves along with finding each other.
I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
The story is very well written and the flow is good, but I had trouble connecting to these characters. Meredith runs hot and cold through much of the book and comes across a bit teenager like instead of the mature business woman that she’s supposed to be. Cole is the typical playboy who doesn’t want a relationship when his attraction grows into feelings for Meredith. The story goes on a little more than I felt it needed to with the lack of communication, and other than this couple denying what they want, there wasn’t much more to the story. I would’ve liked to have seen more of the story behind Brandon’s business problems and Cole’s past, but they felt almost like second thoughts when they came up. The author does write beautifully, this one just fell flat for me.
