Clementine Johns was attacked and left for dead and has no memory of the past. Now she is trying to put together the pieces and returns to the place where she possibly got her tattoo from but she does not receive a warm welcome.
Ed Larsen had his heart shattered by Clementine with no explanation but when she shows up at his shop he feels like he needs to help her although he is keeping her at a distance.
As Clem and Ed begin to get to know each other again Ed sees a different and more carefree Clem. But soon it is evident that someone is still after her and how far will Ed go to keep her safe?
Can Ed move on from the past and see a new Clem and open up his heart again?
This was such a great book and I loved it from start to finish.
My heart broke for Clem with being attacked and having no memory of what happened in the past and no idea why she broke up with Ed. It was clear that she was caring after everything she gave up to take care of her mom so I knew it had to have been something that made her doubt Ed.
Ed was such a great character and I loved that he went above the hurt to help Clem out. There was something about him that made me trust him right away and I could tell he never would have done anything to intentionally hurt her. I loved that he was so protective over her once the attacks began and he was worried about her.
The chemistry was always there between Clem and Ed but they had a lot of mistrust and unknowns to get over before anything developed between them again. I really liked that everything progressed slowly and the two really started from the beginning with Clem trying to figure out who she really is and in the process almost became someone new and more carefree in a sense.
I had an idea who I thought could be responsible for things and I was right but it was definitely not easy for Clem with what she was going through.
The end was awesome and made me so happy!! I can’t wait for more from this author!

Could NOT put this down, up until 3 am reading!!!
What an amazing story of second chances, when the first go round was not even remembered! Amnesia is a wicked thing, wipes out who you are, your personality, who you loved, everything you lived, just gone, like that!
When thrown into a situation that makes feelings come to life, is it real, is it new, what is it? Such an amazing story! Especially when you find out who done it, OMG!!!
What happens when all the moments that add up and individualize your life are wiped away? Kylie Scott explores this scenario beautifully as she reconstructs her heroine in her work Repeat. An old love made new this story took a unique approach to a second chance romance that resulted in a truly remarkable read.
Clementine Johns was an incredibly courageous heroine facing a personal history she had no recollection of yet was still in many ways held accountable for. Despite the obstacales of her past she still managed to face each day with strength and determination as she build a future out of the rubble of what was left behind as a result of her actions before her accident. Ed Larsen was everything and more you would want out of a hero. Ed’s ability to see past his hurt and not be held hostage by his feelings was every reason why readers will fall in love with him. Rising above his and Clementine’s estrangement, that happened prior to her amnesia, and helping her in its aftermath to find her footing is the stuff real heroes are made of. Sometimes people are meant to be together and Clem and Ed proved that as they recognized a love that was not only unavoidable but indestructible.
Kylie Scott uses words with laser sharp accuracy to give her characters substance and clarity. Her unfiltered portrayals offer very human actions and show her characters struggle with the dark and light of who they are. Adeptly placed moments of levity gave this book a well rounded feel that did not distract from the poignancy of this work. Repeat displays all of Kylie Scott’s gorgeous writing for one captivating read!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.*
Repeat is the first book by this author that I have had the pleasure of reading. I found this second chance romance to be a wonderful story as Ed helps Clementine remember and fall in love again. Very much worth reading!
Kylie Scott is one of my favorite authors. I did not know that I needed this book in my life. I loved this book so much, it was mysterious, and a good love story. This was a refreshing take on memory loss. We learn about Clem losing her memory after a vicious attack. As the story unfolds you learn several things, she broke up with the very handsome Ed, we don’t know the reason, etc. Ed is an amazing character for still looking out for Clem even though she broke his heart. Clem is seriously funny with everyone especially Ed. This book has some suspense, I loved every single word.
After an attack leaves Clementine Johns with no memory of her previous life, she is slowly working on piecing herself back together. But, it isn’t until she comes face to face with the man that she once loved, does she understand just how much she might not like the woman that she used to be…
Ed Larsen’s heart was shattered from his break-up with Clementine. And when she shows up at his tattoo shop, claiming she has lost all memory of their relationship… he makes it clear that he may never be ready to let her back in his life again…

Repeat was a captivating read that left me emotionally consumed long after I read it’s final pages. Clementine and Ed had a relationship that imploded and left them both completely devastated, leaving nothing behind that could possibly heal the rift between them. And then Clementine almost dies, and the love they once shared proves to be too strong for a forever kind of good-bye…
With the loss of her memory, Clementine is relying on her sister and people from her past to help her piece her life back together. From her very first encounter with Ed, he makes it implicitly clear that he does not want her back in his life… and Clem agrees that she understands completely… and vows to give him the space that he needs…
Ed is protective of Clementine, even with their painful past. From her continued recovery, to the very real possibility that her attack might not have been as random as they first thought… Ed doesn’t want anything else happening to the woman he once loved. From not wanting to open himself back up to the pain of her being a part of his life, to his need to help her when she needs him, Ed’s plan to keep her at arms length is quickly becoming a thing of the past…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I admired Clementine’s fantastic outlook on her amnesia and the process she undergoes with reinventing herself into the person she is now, vs the woman she no longer knows. With a lot of emotional maturity she was apparently lacking before her head injury, she works to not only discover the mistakes she made with Ed, but to make amends for her part in the hurt that they caused each other.
Ed was not happy about Clem’s reentry into his life, but showed his love for her and his need to protect her over and over again. Not only was he irresistibly sexy, but he continually demonstrated his acceptance of Clem’s journey and stood by her when it would have been just as easy to walk away.
I seriously devoured this book, and I was not ready for it to end… ever. From the emotional drama, to the scorching hot sex scenes… Repeat completely delivered on everything that makes for a refreshing and unforgettable story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Repeat was a fantastic and intriguing twist on second chance romance that I adored. From the very beginning Clementine started tugging on my heartstrings because I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be in her shoes. I loved watching her grow into her own and take life head on. Poor Ed fought like crazy not to risk his heart again yet the heart wants what it wants. As the connection between them grew stronger and they each struggled with their feelings I found myself rooting so hard for their well deserved second chance. A perfect mix of suspense, intrigue, angst, humor,romance, and all the feels made Repeat a captivating pageturner I was sad to see end. I’m definitely hoping there’s more to come soon from the Larsen brothers!
Repeat by Kylie Scott is a wonderful story, an addicting read, and qickly became one of my all time favorites by this author. I started reading and was hooked from chapter one. Repeat is dethroning The Stage Dive Series – and that is my re-read series for years.
Clem is a woman who’s through a lot. She suffers amnesia after being attacked and nearly killed. And then there’s her ex, yummy tattoo shop owner Ed. Their break up was a really bad one and both suffered deeply.
Ed is still furious when she seeks him out , but she’s a new person, changed a great deal. Ed wants to hate her, but their chemistry is through the roof high and therea#as still ember under the ashes, a lot.
I don’t want to reveal here too much, only so much, you need this book, I promise.
Repeat is a must read that stays with you long after reading the last chapter. Their lovestory is such a beautiful one with twists and unexpected turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I can’t express how much I love the story and how easily I connected with the characters -and that doesn’t happen very often. I recommend the book and wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Repeat is one of those reads that will leave you with butterflies deep in the pit of your stomach and an ache in your chest.
There is just something so refreshing about Kylie Scott’s storytelling ability because it wholeheartedly captivated my soul and had me inhaling every word as if they were part of my last breath. This plot was breathtakingly original and emotionally heartwarming. There was so much heart behind these characters that you couldn’t help but fall completely head over heels in love with every bittersweet moment of Clementine and Ed’s story! The characters will take you on a journey that you will never want to end. Oh and let’s not forget that angst and suspense with a nice little twist!
This story is a MUST READ and I obviously recommend you all one-click it RIGTH NOW! You definitely won’t regret a single moment of this reading experience…except maybe that you won’t be able to pit it down once you begin!
Every once in a while, most of us have had the thought of what would we do if the life we know just went away and we could start over? Well, that’s what happened to Clem but the life she knew didn’t go away, she just couldn’t remember it after a brutal attack.
This book is a sweet, poignant story of things lost – memory, people and love. Clem’s story of rebuilding or maybe it’s re-branding herself will captivate you and have you cheering for Ed and Clem.
Kyle Scott has written a truly captivating story of lost love found again with a touch of suspense, humor and self discovery.
********** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW **********
I really like the premise of this storyline… amnesia removes all traces of memories of your life, of your first kiss, of your sexual encounters…. everything, gone, kaput. Who are you, really? What are your inner most secrets and insecurities? Scott really did a great job giving us those feelings of confusion. Who were you then? Who are you now? Are they the same? Will those who love you still love you?
Anyways, you get it… storyline is fabulous! The writing is perfect but, with Andi Arndt narrating, how can it go wrong? I love her narrations… she gives real feelings to her characters through her voice… infliction and tone. This book is in Clem’s POV and she is very expressive to the confused and fun Clem. She has this way of really inflicting the feelings of the characters into her feelings. I could listen to her narrate every single POV… male and/or female… happy or sad. Just everything! Give me more of Andi Arndt!!
And yes, I know I didn’t really go into the storline/plot but I’m guessing Kylie Scott left her blurb vague for a reason. She doesn’t want you to know! She wants you to listen and devour her brilliance! And she was totally brilliant!
I have recently discover Kylie Scott and I am really loving her writing style.
Clem and Ed love story is also a suspense since she suffered and accident and is facing an amnesia. She is kind of starting over and Ed reluctantly helps. He is angry with her because of their breaking up and was hurt. The thing is that the story unfolds chapter by chapter keeping us readers super interested in each word and paragraph.
This is a great book with a wonderful story that will keep you in suspense and at the same time in love with this couple.
Clementine is a 25 year old woman with no memory of her past due to an attack. She finds a tattoo on herself and ends up visiting Ed’s tattoo shop. Ed just happens to be her ex-boyfriend and is shocked when she walks in the shop. Clem and Ed made me root for them to come to an understanding and get back together. This is a great story and a standalone.
This book is amazing, period. A completely new view in the second chance romance. What if you get a second chance in life? What if, you don’t remember your previous life? What if, you don’t like the person you were? What if the old you made a great mistake? Can you change that? Clem is a complex character and I loved how we discovered everything with her. Her old personality, her new passions, the truth. This book is real, emotional and well written. You should read it.
Repeat is beautiful and tragic. Clem has lost her memory after a vicious attack and is trying to understand her old life while putting together a new one. Her ex-boyfriend, Ed, re-enters her life, and begins to help her understand her past. This book really hits home. The reader is left imagining what would happen if your previous life was erased. How would you go about learning you over again? What would you want to try to regain from your old life? Repeat is a poignant book with flawed characters trying to piece together the mystery of the past while still going forward and creating something new and beautiful.
W.O.W. Kylie Scott has left me speechless with Repeat. She successfully made me connect with the characters at a deep personal level. I didn’t feel it was just a story or the persons are fictional. Clem and Ed’s larger than life love story felt as real as my next breath or next heartbeat.
Clem has been under attack by a random person and she had a grave head injury. And she woke up with complete amnesia. She doesn’t remember anything about who she is. And she feels her ex boyfriend Ed Larsen would have some very important answers. But their break up was messy and brutal to extreme level. Can they really reconnect? Clem has tons of issues to work out. And it appears she isn’t out of danger yet.
The whole concept was really interesting. The romance and emotional bond between Clem and Ed played a central role. But it was so much more than that. It was about second chances, changing and rediscovering self. How exciting and terrifying would it be to start the life on a clean slate! The author went through every little scary exhilarating steps of Clem’s journey. Ed’s character was the perfect mix of charm, edge, protectiveness and sexy attitude. I am just amazed how he helped Clem in every way. The secondary characters hold pieces of the puzzle and it was brilliantly plotted. The twists, the heartbreaks, the dreamy moments..everything was just perfect.
Some love stories go beyond simple romance. They are awe-inspiring spiritual journeys. Repeat by Kylie Scott is a perfect example. The love, the challenges, the struggles and the triumph of life was brought together by the author’s exceptional masterful writing!
Received ARC for Honest Review
Kylie Fricking Scott. Way to blow readers away with a fantastic new twist to second chance romance. Clementine, a victim of a brutal attack, has been left with no memory. For the first time, readers have to discover who the heroine is alongside her as she deals with friends, family, and the life she had. A clue to her past leads her to a tattoo shop and its rude and gruff owner (none too pleased to see her) happens to be her ex. But there’s a mystery as to why they broke up. She can’t remember and he’s too pained to reveal it to her right away. Now Clem has to earn the trust of the man who’s heart she seemingly broke…but it turns out she didn’t trust him at all their first time around and that’s what ended them. Navigating your past is difficult when you’re attracted to the one man who can help you piece it all together.
I loved Ed. He’s rude, rash, and generally does NOT take back to Clementine right away. No, like the readers, she gets small glimpses of the man behind the anger, behind the broken heart. We fall in love with him with Clem and I think that creates a special bond with a heroine that I haven’t felt before. Scott also adds in an extra element when more attacks seem to be happening to Clem. Was her head injury a random act of violence or is there someone truly after her? Figuring out her steps that day and in the days leading up to it are key in figuring out the truth.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is something undeniably real to Scott’s stories. They’re not tied up in pretty little bows. They’re raw and all her characters are flawed and easy to relate to on some level. This romance becomes MORE than a romance. It’s a story about finding your own path, creating you own future, and trusting you gut to guide you. Between the kisses and the danger, it’s a second chance romance not only for Clem and Ed, but for Clementine and her own self. Truly wonderful story and I can’t wait to see what Kylie Scott does next because she’s shocking me at every turn!
I’ve read books by this author before. I loved the Dive Bar series, as well as the Stage Dive series. But this book is on a whole different level. This book is one of those that make you think, “OMG what would I do if that happened?!?” It literally sent chills up and down my spine, as I read this story. It was so good, I read this book in one sitting, with no breaks. I could not put it down, for anything.
What would you do if your entire past was erased, and nothing makes sense. How would you act if you know nothing about yourself; not your favorite color, your favorite food, or even how it feels to love someone. That is what Clementine is facing in her life. The victim of a horrific assault, she has amnesia, and is having to rebuild her life from nothing. But there are things about her past that she needs to know, to make the now successful. Things her sister is protecting her from. Mostly revolving around her ex, Ed, and their relationship.
While this book was very thought provoking, it also had a sense of mystery to it, and was very much a second chance romance. While the book focused on Clem’s journey to “find” who she is in this new incarnation of herself, there is also the romance aspect between her and Ed. I will say, there was still an undeniable connection between them, even when I thought there was absolutely no way on earth that they could make a go of it. I love romance, there is no denying that, but this book had enough action, enough drama, to pull me in and not let me go. It was definitely one I will recommend!
3.5-3.75 stars. While this was a pretty good read, I’m a bit conflicted on this book. I liked it, but it felt very rushed. I don’t know how many pages this book was, but the fast pace made it feel like a novella, even though I don’t think it was.
Repeat is Clementine/Clem and Ed’s book. Clementine is attacked and mugged one night, and when she awakens, she has amnesia. She doesn’t remember anyone or anything about her family or friends before her attack. She is surprised to run into a man, Ed, who tells her she was his girlfriend and recently broke up with him, breaking his heart. He is angry and bitter towards her, but Clem feels he can help her learn who she was before the accident. She tries to gain answers from Ed, but he resists at first. Still, it soon becomes obvious that Clem’s attack may not have been random and that someone has it out for her. Ed still has feelings for the Clem he knew, despite her breaking his heart, and wants to help protect her. As they spend time together, the two fall for each other again.
I did enjoy this book. The story was interesting and different. I liked Clementine and Ed. I didn’t hate the “old Clem” like some of the other reviewers did. She seemed like a nice person before, who made a few mistakes. Her personality is changed after her amnesia. She is more outspoken, has no filter and is now spunkier, but still a nice person. I liked her both ways and I felt bad for everything she had to go through. Ed, I liked too, but he was not as nice or understanding to Clem’s situation as I would have liked, at first. Clem had an attraction to Ed right away on (re)meeting him, even though he was kind of mean to her, and to me that attraction felt forced. Actually, in general, the fast pace of Clem and Ed’s relationship and their emotions did not feel realistic to me. It was too rushed for me to feel their actual emotions. So, while I enjoyed the book overall, I felt the characters and their emotions could have been deeper and more fleshed out for them to be believable to me.
Overall, I liked this book. It was a fast paced, easy read. I read it all in one sitting and enjoyed it. I wanted it to slow down a little so I could feel the characters emotions, but I still found it to be an entertaining read. I look forward to more from Ms. Scott in the future!
