OMG! I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. Loved every page!
So, this was my first audiobook and it was a good experience. Apart from the fact it takes thrice as long to ‘hear’ a book as opposed to reading it yourself, this one was very nicely done.
Clementine (‘Clem’) has been attacked one night and has retrograde amnesia. She does not remember anything from her life from the moment she woke up in the hospital. When she goes to a tattoo parlor to investigate a tattoo she has got she finds it is owned by her ex-boyfriend, Ed. He is of course wary of the woman that does not recognizes him and bitter about their break-up. But he agrees to answering questions Clem has about herself. Clem is different than before in several aspects and when she develops feelings for Ed (again.. but she does not remember) she is adamant she does not want to repeat past mistakes.
I really enjoyed this story! I thought it was really insightful and interesting how Clem looked at things with a fresh look. She might have lost her memory, but it also gave her second chances at several things. Loved the development of her relationship with Ed.
I read the first chapter of this book and then I was HOOKED. I listened to it all day at work. I needed Clem and Ed to have their HEA. This book had a bunch of angst and I knew who was the “bad guy” pretty early on, but I was still on pins and needles wondering how it was all going to end. I love them. I loved their love story. I haven’t read a real amnesia story so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but I loved watching Clem and Ed fall in love all over again. I really loved Clem. I want to be that open and honest. We all need that in relationships. So many of us are closed off and scared to speak what we feel, this was refreshing. Loved this.
Kylie Scott has created a story that brings two people to really see each other in a new light. We have Clementine who has no idea who she is or what she had before. Then we have Ed, by all counts brooding, sexy tattoo artist showing her a love she well doesn’t really know until now. All in all this is more than two people reuniting but a love that cannot tear them apart. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
Wow – haven’t read a book about a total amnesiac that sticks around to figure out life. Really enjoyed it, and there were a few choices for culprit – surprise! thanks Kylie
By far, my new favorite book by Kylie Scott!!
Possibly one of my absolute favorites from this author!
I opened this book because of its cover. And then I was mad at myself for not having started it earlier. Everything about this book was perfect, from the female main character to the storyline, and of course, the male lead. The two had so much chemistry right from the get-go, and I couldn’t put the book down. I even got a friend to buddy-read it with me because it was THAT good and I so desperately needed someone to talk to about it.
GET IT, DEVOUR IT, LOVE IT. Seriously, it’s so worth it.
Clementine/Amnesia girl, could you even imagine starting life over with a clean slate?
I was hooked from beginning to end with this tale. The author threw in some red herrings, so I had my suspicions but I wasn’t sure who the trouble maker was.
Could Clem and Ed fall in love again? He’s in pain from their break up but she has no memory so remains emotionless, I love her new personality, it’s edgy and witty.
A very entertaining tale, I loved every minute.

Clementine Johns was a victim in a very brutal attack. This culminates in her having no memory and having to start a new life all over again. Clem has a lot to figure out in regards to her previous life of whom she was and life’s choices. She learns that she left the love of her life, tattooist Ed Larsen and having no recollection, she doesn’t understand why she would have done this. But she’s on a mission which fitted into place as I read on.
Ed Larsen runs a tattoo parlour. When he runs into his ex-girlfriend, he’s alarmed to discover she has no inkling of their life together. Clem is desperate to know about their breakup that left him almost destroyed beyond immeasurable pain. He really doesn’t want to be reminded of the hurt he felt; however, he can’t seem to let her go. Both parties are not sure whether they should leave the past well alone or go for a repeat performance adding of course, to the intrigue.
I really and truly felt for Clem. The animosity towards her from people close around unsettled me no end. I had no option but to take into consideration that she had no recollection and just finds the whole thing so confusing. She had the sense that Ed was a good man and couldn’t help but be drawn to him…somehow she felt safe. At first, Ed seemed standoffish to me, nevertheless, his change in attitude appeared to be a breath of fresh air. Was I off the mark? Read and find out!
This second chance romance flourishes in intrigue and mystery. The author’s narrative totally fooled me in the respect that they were a seemingly loving couple. For one reason or another, everything fell apart with the amnesia thrown into the mix. I thought it was mainly about them possibly finding their way back to each other or even getting some sort of peace and solitude so they could get on with their lives. Wow, something very sinister and chilling lurked in the background, giving me the goosebumps. The secondary characters were a great addition and as things unfolded, made me somewhat wary of everybody involved in the story.
Passion and sexual tension abound in this offering. The writing flows well enough; however, I thought there could have been a little bit more about the sinister person rather than discovering towards the end who and why they did what they did. For me, it felt a little rushed. Maybe there was too much emphasis on wrongdoings by another character. The rehabilitation seemed to be over quite quickly but don’t misunderstand me, I really did enjoy reading Repeat and what I will say is Ed’s brother, Leif, was a great character who managed to get a hearty laugh or three out of me! Diverse emotions faired well while reading, resulting in four strong stars for a must-read.
There’s this odd thing that I do with some of my most beloved authors. I know I love them, I know they’re in my group of favorites, I know I’ll be sucked into their stories…but somehow I forget just how amazing they are and how invested I will become with their characters from the very beginning. Kylie Scott is one of those authors. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the books I’ve read by her, and in most cases I’d even say I love the stories. But until I’m halfway through the first chapter of any of her books, I forget how quickly I can fall into the world she creates. Mind you, I’m not complaining. I’m just wondering why I do that.
The premise of this story is so interesting, I was riveted almost immediately. I found myself disliking “old” Clementine and loving “new” Clementine. As the story progresses, I realized this was not accidental. The reader is getting their information the same place Clem is getting it, mostly from her ex-boyfriend and his circle of friends. Ex, as in Clem broke up with him and broke his heart before the incident. Therefore, it’s understandable there will be quite a bit of animosity in these interactions. Or course, this made me not so big of a fan of most of these people. Other than Ed.
Oh, Ed. What an absolute dream! If I get amnesia shortly after breaking my husband’s heart and then show up at his doorstep, I can only hope he is as patient and kind as Ed. Don’t worry, he’s not a pushover. Ed has his moments of anger and irrational outbursts, but at his core he’s a great guy that just wants to do the right thing.
I cannot even put into words the way Ed and Clem made me feel as I was reading their story and seeing their connection. It’s like, although Clem didn’t know Ed anymore, her soul knew his soul. Their hearts and spirits recognized each other no matter what. It was truly magnificent.
This story made me laugh and cry and gave me all sorts of butterflies. Seems to me I need to get cracking on the books in this author’s library that I haven’t yet read.

I have read a few amnesia books in the past, but none quite like this romance. It’s such a unique second chance romance, I couldn’t help but to swoon.
I liked how Scott showed that Clementine was literally two different people, the before and the now Clementine. I think that holds true to real life with something like amnesia. Scott didn’t pull any punches in Clementine finding out about who she was before and having to come to terms with it and who she is becoming now. They are polar opposites and a complete struggle for Clementine.
Ed, too, now struggles with the before and now Clementine. Holding on to all of the good and bad from before to the now is a total mind melt for him since he remembers everything and it contradicts the now. I could feel his struggle with letting go and embracing at the same time.
Scott did such a great job with these complex characters and complex story. Her writing of this story really makes you wonder if you could fall in love with the same person twice, who is actually two different people. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. I don’t think there was really anything that could have made it better for me.
I really enjoyed Clementine and Ed’s story. It was different and sad but layered with confusion and hope. This is not your typical love story. An almost complete loss of memory and trust issues do not seem like ingredients for love. It would be so easy to make the same mistakes again but having endured what Clem has, has changed who she is. It’s changed them.
Repeat is another good Kylie Scott novel. It’s a second chance… No. It’s a new chance at a first love.
I have always attempted to give ‘star’ ratings on my completed reads, just as a tracking method for my titles that I have completed. I have unlimited packages for audio, kindle, and utilize the local/state library.
However, I do not check the ‘I recommend this book’ unless I am willing to reread a book and or a series.
[I read about 5-15 books a month through kindle, and I listen to about 15-30 books monthly]
I have a full life as a nurse, professor, wife, daughter [daughter in law], sister, and mother. I love to read and love a thousand other lives by turning the pages in countless books.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a review. Happy reading 🙂
Awesome Story & Audible Listen
Repeat
By: Kylie Scott
Narrated by: Andi Arndt
This is a great story of love and 2nd chances. Kylie Scott is an amazing writer, she creates original storylines that are realistic, relatable and contain a lot of heart. Her characters are complex and well developed. Clementine Johns survived a brutal attack but her head injury left her with no memory of her life before. She goes to a tattoo parlor to see out the artist who did her tattoo, turns out that artist, Ed, is her ex-lover. He had not know about her attack so he was surprised to find out why she came to the shop. After an attack on her car, her sister & Ed decided she would be safer if she stayed with Ed. After suffering a world of hurt after their breakup Ed keeps his distance. But there is no denial of the chemistry that is between them. While Clem is not the same person as before and she has no memories of Ed, she is still drawn to him. Things start to heat up again for them. There is a lot going on in this story, someone out there has it in for Clementine, while the cops are looking for the person(s) who assaulted her and vandalized her car and the store where she worked. I had my suspicions who it was and why and I nailed it. I highly recommend this story, there is drama, angst, suspense, lots of emotions and romance. As well as learning to forgive and love again. Kylie Scott, thank you for another great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the fabulous Andi Arndt. She is a talented voice performer and an entertaining storyteller. Thank you for another great listen
Goodness gracious what an amazing book. This was so emotional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all at the same time. It’s like a second chance at love story, while also being a find yourself story. Ed was great and I loved how he was with Clementine. Clementine was awesome as well, even with her not remembering anything she still didn’t let anyone walk all over her. I loved this book and it’s a must read.
Clementine and Ed get a second chance at a relationship. Clem receives a serious head injury and doesn’t remember much about herself and her life. She doen’t remember what she was like before the accident. She doesn’t remember Ed or their bad breakup. But Ed and everyone else does and they seems to have a strong opinion about it. The question is, will everyone who remembers be able to forget the past and move forward. For an amnesia story, I’ve never heard of anyone forgetting there whole life, but I suppose it’s medically possible. Ed is a great guy with a good heart but he must decide if he can open it up again to someone who nearly crushed it.
A well written book, a great bunch of characters and an enjoyable storyline. The author managed to include so many small things you’d overlook if the6 weren’t brought to your attention. Imagine waking up with not only no idea of who you are, but who those around you are. With no knowledge of your favourite movie, song, food, colour, best friend, family or hobbies. All of the things we take for granted will become a new experience. Would we be the same person again and make the same decisions and choices? Or would this be the chance to rewrites ourselves?
Clementine wakes up in a hospital bed after being attacked and clocked on the head with a bottle of whiskey. Suffering severe head trauma has resulted in amnesia. She has no recollection of the event or “her” prior life, embarking on a journey of discovery. When she finds her ex by accident it’s quite confronting on many levels. Needing some independence she begins working in a book store part time.
As much as Ed wants and knows he should help Clem out, he is guarded trying to keep his heart protected. Clem’s sister Frances is busy working and pushes them together. During their time spent together she is faced with things about herself which she finds hard to accept. Ed is on an emotional roller coaster, one minute he’s angry, aloof, caring, protective, hesitant and walking on broken shells. His friends aren’t very receptive to this turn of events.
Repeat is the newest release from Kylie Scott and I loved it from beginning to end. Although I do agree with another reviewer who said the ending felt rushed, it still doesn’t change the fact that I loved this story. Clem wakes up in the hospital after a violent attack and has no memory of anyone in her life. As she tries to find her new self she ends up in a tattoo shop where she got her work done to hopefully get answers. There she meets Ed, her bitter ex-boyfriend. I loved Clem and how she didn’t try to be who she was but embraced her new self. Also the romance lover in me loved how she found her way back to Ed and even though she has no memory of him, I loved how she was still drawn to him. Ed was amazing, you can totally understand his bitterness but I loved how he feel in love again with the new Clem. I hope we get stories from the two other Larsen brothers.
When Clem shows back up in Ed’s life after a bad breakup he is not inclined to do anything but get her back out the door. The problem is Clem no longer remembers him or what happened between them. After an attack she has amnesia, and some significant changes to her personality. Clem is on a mission to find out as much as she can about her previous self, and circumstances keep putting her together with Ed. Pretty quickly she develops feelings for Ed, but he is struggling with how much she hurt him. I had the mystery figured out from the beginning, but the story still kept me engaged. I enjoyed it.
