Great second chance romance and I loved the audio version. It slid by so quickly that I was sad when it ended.

I love a modern amnesia story a whole lot…and that’s what this one is. The heroine lost her memory and is desperate to understand herself, so she seeks out the only person she can find who might help — her ex-boyfriend, who still has a thing for her…if only he can forgive her.
4 Stars
I can’t even begin to imagine waking up and not having any memory of anything. I loved seeing Clementine come into her new self all the while trying to reconcile who everyone else knew her to be. Kylie Scott’s writing shows that the heart will always recognize it’s soulmate. I loved seeing the chemistry between Ed and Clementine, even as he struggled to not get his heart shattered again. This book is full of raw emotion, sexy steaminess, and even a little suspense thrown in. Overall, I loved Ed and Clementine.

REPEAT by Kylie Scott is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic romance story line focusing on twenty-five year old Clementine Johns, and tattoo artist Ed Larsen.
NOTE: REPEAT was originally released as an audio book before releasing in paper/ebook format.
Told from first person point of view (Clementine Johns) REPEAT follows in the days and weeks following a vicious attack against our story line heroine, an attack that has left her with traumatic retrograde amnesia, leaving her with no memory of events, people or history. Not recognizing her own tattoo or the artist who drew it, our heroine is directed to a local tattoo shop where she will come face to face with a past she doesn’t remember. Enter tattoo artist Ed Larsen, and the man with whom Clementine was once in love. What ensues is the rekindling romance and relationship between Clem and Ed, and the potential fall-out as Ed struggles with what was and what will never be.
Clementine Johns broke Ed Larsen’s heart but our heroine has no idea as to the who, what, how or why, only the bits and pieces of information fed to her by people she doesn’t remember including the man with whom she was once in love. Ed Larsen struggles to move on from the devastating break up that all but destroyed his faith in love but seeing Clementine Johns, a shell of her former self, broke something in our hero, something that forces Ed to reconsider his relationship, and the history, with our story line heroine.
The relationship between Ed and Clementine is one of second chances but struggles in the face of past accusations and former behavior; a rekindling romance that focuses on the here and now, as our heroine is unable to remember anything about the past. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Clementine’s sister, police officer Frances Johns, and Ed’s brother Leif Larsen, as well as Ed’s co-workers and employees: receptionist Shannon, and fellow artists Tessa and Nevin; and Clementine’s boss Iris. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Leif, and Frances’ story lines.
REPEAT is a story of one woman’s struggle to overcome the past: the hatred and guilt that directly affect her ability to move forward, and the never ending battle to stop herself from falling in love with a man whose heart she broken. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is heart breaking and captivating; the characters are broken, colorful and energetic.
Holy COVER!!!
Where do I even start? Perhaps with the fact that I was sucked into this unique story immediately. Intrigued by Clementine as she tried to reconcile the woman everyone remembered with the woman she became.
The chemistry between Clem and Ed was immediately apparent and I found my heart aching with a sort of yearning for them as they unpacked their past while tentatively trying to make a future together. It’s a beautiful story, steamy, playful at times, and wholly satisfying.
The narration is top notch. Andi Arndt is fantastic and easy to listen to as she brought the characters and story to life for me. Definitely recommend this audio experience!
Kylie Scott’s vivid characters, amazing writing, and a plot to keep you glued to the pages makes Repeat a must read!
I really enjoyed Repeat it would have to be one of my favorites by Kylie Scott this one just drew me into what was going on and excited to read what’s to come . I’m a huge fan of a memory loss plot it always intrigues me and has me wanting to know what is going to happen and what has happened . Enjoyed the chemistry between the characters even though the heroine had no memory she still felt something for the hero and of course the hero has the memories of their past so in a way kind of heart braking . When we learn of what happened let me just say WOW . The steamy scenes are super steamy it’s fire HOT .

What would you do if you woke up in the hospital and didn’t know who you were? Didn’t recognize your sister? Didn’t know your past, your present or potential future? This is exactly what happened to Clementine Johns and she’s not going to let a little thing like no memory stop her from finding out who she is, where she’s been and what she’s supposed to be doing in life.
And that leads her to a tattoo parlor. And one Ed Larsen. Her ex. Supposedly. And it’s not a warm and fuzzy welcome when she walks through the door.
But there’s just something about their relationship. A connection that can’t be denied—and as new memories are made and things are rekindled between them, can they forget the past and move on with the future.
Man, I love a second chance romance. And I really loved the struggle Ed faced when Clem walked into his shop not knowing him or their past. The struggle he had reconciling his hurt from their break-up and the “new” Clem in front of him. It was such a delicious weaving of their feelings and the minefield that lay in wait as more of their past was revealed.
I couldn’t help but root for Clem and Ed to reconnect, to re-establish their romance. And I loved how Ed really and truly put aside his hurt to help Clem. And I loved how Clem really never gave up in her quest for finding herself. Their interactions were honest and heart-felt, and somewhat gut-wrenching. I loved their banter and that the somehow found a way back to each other.
Repeat is a beautiful romance that’s emotional, heartbreaking, swoony, sexy AF and romantic as all get out. And a fantastic, unique twist on second-chance romance.
Ever wonder what happens if you just wake up one day, in the hospital with no memory of anything. Your life, friends, habits, likes & dislikes; all of those things are just gone. Clementine wakes up in the hospital after having been attacked with no memory of things before. When she goes into a tattoo shop, hoping to find some answers, she ends up finding her ex, Ed. After finding out that their breakup was not a good one, she tries to stay away from Ed, but he feels the need to help her out in her time of need. For Clem, its all about the answers, trying to find out who she was before. But they still haven’t caught the person that attacked her in the first place, and with the weird things that seem to be happening around her, she can’t help but feel like someone is out to get her. Is she right in her feelings or could this just be from the head injury?
I really enjoyed this story! It gripped me right from the start and kept me in its grasp until the last page! Drama, danger, some super freaking hot naughty bits. I give this 5 stars.
Is the before me or after me a better me?
I’ve spent more of my life as the after me than the before me. I had a major car accident in my late teens that left me with a similar brain injury to Clementine, the main character in Repeat. This is the first time I’ve realised this and I’m surprised to realise that I still wonder if the before accident me was a better me than the current me. If you ask my family or friends, they claim they love both me’s but I know deep down, my family would have happily throttled both me’s too.
Meeting Clementine and watching her process and analyse each situation brings back memories of my recovery. I didn’t lose all my memories and was lucky enough to remember everyone from my previous life. I remembered how to make a cup of coffee but for the life of me, couldn’t remember where the coffee cups were. I was looking at buildings that I had driven by numerous times with completely fresh eyes. I’m lucky that with some deep prodding, some memories will come back to me, like people I’ve met before. Hubby thinks I have selected memory problems…but I guess we’ll never know.
So, of course Repeat hit me a lot harder than the average reader/listener. Seeing Clementine cover her scar self-consciously, try to act blasé when her feelings are hurt, and having loved ones hover constantly, were things I could relate to. You frequently find yourself questioning your thoughts, actions and reactions. Is this how I should react? Am I overreacting? Are they disappointed because I’m reacting differently to how I would have previously reacted? It’s no wonder Clementine and I suffered from severe headaches and a need to recharge often.
You can’t help but feel that Clementine was given a second chance at happiness by having her brain injury. Obviously, you don’t want her to suffer as she did, but there’s this little part of me that thinks she’s happier now than she would have been living her previous life. Maybe, it’s a case of making the best out of what life throws you. Again, I could completely relate to that as I felt invincible and some would even say, a little reckless. You become a person who looks for their happy place and won’t settle for anything less. Why waste your life being miserable?
The relationship between Clementine and Ed starts off a little rough and even felt a little hopeless. How on earth is Ed supposed to forgive Clementine for her lack of faith in him? But, then again, how could he not, considering she has no previous memory of it all. I loved seeing them struggle through the attraction and feelings that refuse to go away.
Andi Arndt is a fantastic narrator and she was perfectly matched to Kylie Scott’s amazing story. Andi brings these characters to life and easily makes me feel their emotions. I had no problems telling when the characters changed and I’m a big fan of her male voice.
Repeat is not a long story and I easily finished it in two sessions…which I quickly regretted that I rushed. I loved every moment of Clementine and Ed’s journey to happiness and could definitely see them in their happy ever after. I highly recommend and I’m adding it to my Best-of-the-Bestest Goodreads list.
Dear Ms Scott, please consider writing a story for all of Ed and Clementine’s siblings. Thanks. Hugs and smooches, Stacey (who’s not often Sassy, but likes to think she is) xoxoxo
A beautiful, realistic tale of one woman’s courage, and strength, and the man that’s brave enough to love her. Truly amazing.
The story begins with Clementine waking up in the hospital with amnesia after a brutal attack. She moves in with her sister while she tries to rebuild her life and learn about herself. She starts by trying different types of pizza, because she wants to know what she likes. But Clem isn’t the same person after the accident, for one brain damage has affected her ability to filter her comments, for another, she looks at her wardrobe of pastel colors and ditches them to redefine herself. While trying to piece together who she was, she discovers her tattoo was done by Ed, a talented tattoo artist. When she shows up at the tattoo shop, she is surprised to find they not only know her, they really dislike her. And Ed, who it turns out was her boyfriend, seems to hate her.
I like that from the start Clem is looking to discover herself without all the angst and emotional trauma that could have come from her situation. Instead she dives into discovering who she was and who she is now. I loved her poise, her desire to not make the same mistakes she seems to have made before her memory loss all with a lack of woe is me.
And Ed, even though she broke his heart, when he realizes her dilemma trying to learn about herself, he puts himself out there, although it is painful for him to be around her. But he becomes protective of her, and Clem learns what a wonderful man he is/was and they begin a new relationship.
I couldn’t set this book down once I started reading it, I loved Clem and Ed and their journey getting to know each other again.
The premise of this story was refreshing and unique. I was hooked at page one. The characters were lovable and well written. This book had it all–wit, humor, angst, suspense, and steamy romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Highly recommend.
Kylie Scott has delivered a brilliant second-chance romance with Repeat Once you begin you will not want it to end. She kept me on the edge of my seat with the twists and turns, mixed with the palpable tension between Clem and Ed.
What I liked about this twist on the second-chance romance genre is the twist with Clem having amnesia and not remembering her Ex Ed who seems to still be hurt and angry. I was really curious to see what had happened between them and how things will play out.
Clem is getting a second chance at everything in life. She is getting to remake herself with a blank slate and experience all her firsts again, first kiss, first love, sex for the first time (actual good sex instead of awkward first time sex), first time watching Die Hard again.
I will be honest and say I guessed who was targeting Clem but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment as I wanted to see the why’s and how’s.
Mixed with the drama there is some entertaining humour and witty one liners from Cem.
“Sometimes our hearts are wiser than our heads.”
A breakup. Two broken lives and two broken hearts. And she does not remember anything.
After an attack, Clementine lost her memory and has some of her cognitive abilities altered by brain damage. She feels that she is no longer the same person and may never be again. But she also feels that she needs to make peace with the past, find out who she was and what she did, to really move on.
Clem feels lost. In situations and emotions she never imagined. Meeting people she does not remember. People with whom she lived happy and sad moments. People she hurt.
Several facts that occur after Clem’s reunion with her ex-boyfriend and her friends begin to arouse suspicion about everyone around her while, with a confused mind, Clementine again trails the path to a feeling that she does not know at the moment: love.
With the right amount of suspense and romance, with few hot scenes and lots of breathtaking scenes, Repeat surprises with a well-developed and blunt plot where only the essential details are addressed.
