This was a great story from start to finish. This is the story of Clementine who survives an attack on her life and wakes up with no memory of who she is or any of her memories. She goes into a tattoo shop after someone recognizes a tattoo she has and who did it. Turns out the artist is her ex Ed who she just broke up with. She has no memory of their relationship or the hurt of the breakup. Ed is still feeling it all. Because of his love he still has for her he helps her to regain who she is. And also keep her safe as the threat to her life isn’t over, they believe. This story is Clementine’s journey to discover who she is. She refers to who she used to be as a different person. She is different. A good different. As the reader we are discovering who she is and what happened in her life right with her. And we fall in love with Ed all over again too. I felt like I was Clementine! This author did an amazing job of putting us in her shoes. And the narrator keeps the listener interested. Andi Arndt is one of my favorites. I can’t love this story any more. I definitely am going to be checking out other titles by author Kylie Scott. I couldn’t stop listening to this story! And the author shocked me. I am not going to tell you how. I suggest this to all fans of inspiring romance. This is more than a love story. This is a story about self discovery. A story about forgiveness. A story about owning our mistakes. And a story that will touch every listener/reader.
Dang this book was one big mystery packed into a beautiful romance. I loved both the main characters. Seeing Ed and Clem work though things was fun, but also it was heart breaking on both side. I was rooting for them to make it back to each other because I could fee their connection. I wish we would have gotten some of Ed’s POV to see what he was going through during some of it, or even a flashback to the orginalnbreak up, butbwhen with out that I still enjoyed the book. Seeing Clem work though thing, learning a new way to live, a bad guy after her….. it had great suspense.
I found that some parts were a little predictable at times, and then other times I didn’t see things coming. I will also say that I loved the secondary characters. They were great and helped both Ed and Clem a lot. I would love to see Leif get a book. He was a big(ish) part of this story and I really loved him. This author is amazing when it comes to her writing skills. No complaints there at all. I can’t wait to see what she writes next. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I purchased this audio book.
I enjoyed listening to this story. I thought Andi Arndt did a wonderful job on this book. Her transition from one person to another was great. The story and the narrator did a wonderful job holding my attention and I didn’t want to hit the pause button.
Clem is left to figure out her life after an attack that left her with no memory of the past. She tries to find those who know her to figure out who she is. Her first lead was her tattoo that led her to an angry tattoo artist Ed. Let’s just say Ed was not happy to see her.
Ed was heartbroken when Clem left him without even a goodbye. Now she is standing in hit tattoo parlor asking questions about their relationship and breakup. Ed is still upset and things are too raw for him to talk about it. When they think Clem could be in danger he finds her staying in his home.
While Clem is trying to figure out who she is Ed is trying to figure out if he can trust her not to hurt him again. They start talking and things seem to be going well but is it going well enough for Ed to trust Clem and try a repeat performance of their relationship.
I liked most of the people in this book. I enjoyed Ed’s brother he gave Ed shit about almost everything. I like the plot and that there were no flashbacks or memories as we read making Clem start over her life and us reading as she did. This truly was a second chance romance that I so loved listening to.

Repeat is a totally intriguing and captivating story. I loved every word!! This was such a unique story about forgiveness and second chances. You will be sucked in right from the first page.
I have read many Kylie Scott books and I have to say that her stories get better and better with each release. Repeat is probably my favorite book of hers to date!!! This is definitely a MUST READ!!!
In Repeat we follow the second chance for Clementine and Ed. This book starts right in the thick of things with these two. From the blurb we know that Clementine survives a severe attack, but is left with amnesia. So she doesn’t remember most things and people. Trying to get some of her life back she starts trying to put things together, starting with a tattoo she has on her shoulder. This leads her to Ed’s tattoo parlor. What she doesn’t remember is that her and Ed didn’t end on the best of terms. So he isn’t too happy to see her!! So Repeat is the story of Clementine and Ed finding their way back to each other. Can these two make it work the second time around??
I loved the suspense aspect to this story. We know that something happened between Clem and Ed but we don’t find out until later in the book. Although you can kind of figure out who is responsible for the rift between Clem and Ed, it still didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book.
I loved falling in love with Ed and Clem as they fell in love with other all over again. Ed took me a little while to warm up to. I thought he was a little harsh with Clem in the beginning after finding out what happened to her. But as his walls came down, so did mine. I LOVED Clementine….she was the best heroine I have read in a long time. She was sassy and determined and didn’t put up with anyone stuff. She told it like it was, she kind of lost her filter after the attack.
Repeat is a standalone novel and is told solely in Clementine’s POV. I would’ve liked to have some of Ed’s POV throughout the story, but I don’t think it took anything away from the story not having it.
So I will leave you with this…READ THIS BOOK!! it is so good!!!
If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know that Kylie Scott is one of my favorite authors. That she wrote one of my top 3 book boyfriends of all-time, Mal Ericson, from Play. While I’ve loved everything I’ve read from her so far, her last book wasn’t one that appealed to me, as I don’t really care for the older man trope. I’ve not read a lot of amnesia stories either, but I knew that I wanted to give this one a try. And once again, I was hooked right away. I mean I had just started the audio and I already was at the point where I didn’t want to get out of the car and go in to a family get together because it was so good! The story kept me wondering what exactly could be behind all the things that were happening to Clementine. I also wondered what in the world happened to cause her and Ed to break up, and we were kind of kept wondering about that for a while. In a good way, the way that would keep us listening and needing to go on to find out more. I had so many theories that kept me hoping the author wouldn’t do what it seemed would happen. It was so addicting that I went home on my fourth day of listening in the car, and after work, I sat in my living room and listened to the last quarter of the book because I had to know. That is a good book to me!
When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she’s forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did – which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
I really liked this book, the characters were so lovable and the story line was sweet, addictive and funny, although I did think that the first question I would have asked Ed was WHY did we break up? The chemistry between the characters was wonderful and had you turning the pages to see what happened and to get the hot sex of course. This was a really enjoyable read.
I’m excited anytime this author releases something, but when I read the blurb for Repeat and realized just how unique the story would be, that excitement heightened. Repeat is an Audible Originals release, meaning fans of audiobooks are in for a treat because they get a chance to hear it first for once. For those who prefer e-books, not to worry, this amazing book will be available early April and I promise it’s worth the wait.
Repeat is more than your average second chance romance. The book explores the interesting premise of a former love suffering a traumatic injury that leads to amnesia, and the opportunity for a do over that event may provide for a couple. The characters were all well-developed and likable with many layer and flushed out histories. I appreciated that both characters acknowledged their flaws and strove to correct missteps. I also really liked Clementine’s way of approaching her memory loss. It was different and really interesting watching how she embraced both her past while choosing to move forward with her life; and her snark and gallows humor made it all the better. The romance and connection between Clementine and Ed simmered below the surface from the start, but the way it developed over the course of the story demonstrated the couple’s saying power while telling a wonderful and entertaining story.
As is often the case with this author, Repeat boasted a smooth rhythm with plenty of fun banter to highlight the characters’ personalities. The story was further brought to life by the narrator, who injected just the right emotion into every scene to make them pop. Honestly, there wasn’t much more I could ask for in a book by a long-time favorite author, and Repeat is certainly one I’d recommend.
*Reviewed audiobook*
Repeat by Kylie Scott drove me crazy in the very best ways possible! It was an angst and drama filled slow burn romance with all the feels and I devoured it! I could not stop listening! I absolutely loved this audiobook so much and have already listened to it twice! It was original and the writing/words were captivating. If you cannot already tell, I loved this story so much!
Andi Arndt was perfect as the narrator of Clementine Johns’ story. She made me feel her turmoil, confusion and how lost she felt. She made me believe Clementine’s journey. Clementine was the victim of a malicious attack that robbed her of all her memories. Now she is trying to figure out who she was and who she will be going forward. Though the old Clementine may not have been perfect, this new Clementine was vulnerable and adrift, but also very strong.
Ed Larsen was left bereft and broken hearted when Clementine left him. He loved her and wanted a future with him. Imagine his shock when she walks into his tattoo shop with no memories and asking him for help. Though part of him wants to turn her away, the other part does not want to let her go. But can he risk his heart again? I loved Ed. He was honest, sweet and caring, even knowing this woman already broke him. Once.
I loved everything about Repeat by Kylie Scott. It was original, angsty, sweet and suspenseful. My heart broke for Ed and Clementine at times, but I rooted for them throughout their entire journey. This is my favorite Kylie Scott story-to-date and cannot recommend it enough! And not to worry, though this is available in audio format first, the eBook is not far behind! This is a must-read/must-listen story!
Listened and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart. Loved it!
Repeat is the first book by Kylie Scott that I have read, or in this case listened to. Andy Arndt did an amazing job narrating this book which only added to its perfection!
I loved the characters and the premise of the story. It is a second chance romance with a twist. What would you do if you had the chance at a do-over? That is where Clementine finds herself when she ends up with amnesia after being attacked. She slowly finds her way back to her old life and Ed. She has no idea what their history is only that she feels drawn to him and Ed struggles with wanting her back and getting his heartbroken all over again.
Heartbreaking and life-changing, Clementine is faced with hard truths when a physical assault leaves her with amnesia. This attack results in her suffering the effects of a brain injury; forever changing how she lives her life day in and day out.
Grieving the loss of the woman she was before the accident and trying to learn more about whom she will become now, left this reader riveted. Listening to Clementine, portrayed beautifully by Arndt, clearly depicted so much of what it is like to have to pick up the pieces and start over after a traumatic event.
Resonating with me on a highly personal level, having sustained a brain injury much like the main character, this story was a far more touching and emotional read than I had anticipated.
We may not understand why things happen to us and maybe we are not supposed to. But, sometimes we could all use a second chance to get things right; might I say a Repeat.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
I will remember this book always. Ed and Clementine take us through heartache and mystery wrapped in this second chance romance story. While seeing Clem recreate and find herself once again in the back of my mind I’m continuously wondering who the culprit could be. I can understand Ed’s cautiousness with opening himself up especially after what happened but even from the very beginning we see the kind of man he is. A non stop page turner that left me gasping and filled with happy tears in my eyes. Phenomenal read that I highly recommend.
This book was AMAZING! My first top read of 2019. I listened to this book in one day and was not ready for it to be over. My favorites narrators brought the story to life and pulled me in.
This was the perfect second chance romance that had you hoping things were going to work out for the characters. The chemistry between Ed and Clementine was off the charts. These two were together at one time. When Clem shows up at his place of work after an attack she can’t remember anything.
I loved everything about this story and have never listened to an entire book in one day. This is the perfect second chance romance you don’t want to miss.
I have never read amnesia romance done this well. The relationship ship break up is so real I did not see how they would be written back together. But, masterfully this author make it all work out, with a twist veering into a who done it. This will be put in the revisit book pile. To be read again when I am in between books, or spent my book budget on duds. #romance, #secondchances, #amnesia
Repeat, was a very pleasant surprise, I really like the story the characters everything was great and made this story very enjoyable.
Clem was a 24 year old, something bad happened to her that she doesn’t know anything or anybody anymore. she is trying to build her life and memories but some people are not making this easy for her, someone is trying to sabotage her life, her future, and even her love.. but luckily Clem has many people around that won’t stop to make her feel safe again.
Ed was a tattoo artist he had his own business and was trying to forget his past or better say a past relationship that left him broken.
He didn’t want to know anything about her anymore, he was trying to rebuild his life, dating and going out with other people searching for what he lost.. but life had other plans for him, whomever, he lost it would come back and this time is to stay forever.
I love Clem and Ed they both really were an amazing couple .. it took them so much time to finally lower their walls especially for Ed but since the very beginning you could feel how Ed was very attracted and at the same time confused over Clem, he didn’t know what to do, what to believe, and at the same time he didn’t want to leave her.. he was very protective about her and you could feel how much he love her no matter what..
Clem was an awesome character, she was strong and good, she was kind with everybody but was trying to find a way to build more confidence. Clem was in awe since the very first moments she saw Ed. she was strong, smart and at the same time funny.
Repeat had the exact amount of angst, love, laugh and also great secondary characters that supported this amazing story..
The narrations were great I love Andi’s work so much, she really did a great job bringing the story and the characters alive making the story deeper and more enjoyable.
I loved this audiobook! The tension between the main characters was always palpable. The amnesia plot was handled in a way that felt realistic, and I was so emotionally invested in the characters. A terrific, quick listen!
The story kept me engaged from the beginning. Great second chance love story and I loved Ed all the way.
