When you fall in love with the most unexpected person, at the most unexpected time…… bed? It was my pleasure.
Age means nothing to me. I’ve seen and done things men twice my age never will. What I want more than anything is someone to share my life with and that person is my best friend’s older sister, Whitney.
Whitney Trumbolt
Ryan is ten years my junior, but damn, being a cougar never felt as good as it did the night we spent together. Now I’m struggling with wanting things to either go back to the way they were or spend every night in his arms.
Make my wedding planning company the best in the south? Did it. Ignore the way my body trembles when I see Ryan? Epic fail. Freak out when I see a positive pregnancy test staring back at me? Complete with mascara running down my face and clutching my pearls.
Looks like things won’t go back to the way they were. There’s a man in my life that doesn’t take no for an answer. He’s the one who makes my blood run hot, cheeks turn red, and heart beat wildly within my chest. His name is Renegade.

Ryan and Whitney’s story is a top one for me as of this moment! They are fantastic characters and their story was so honest, real, loving, sizzling and believable! Whitney is strong but vulnerable and Ryan is strong and willing to do whatever it takes to be with Whitney! One night together brings them together in a way like no other and they come together slowly and in a way that is real! Yes the heat between them is strong but they really take the time to make a relationship between them work in several ways. They are open and honest and communication is a big part of their success! I loved it!
Yes, now lets talk about this book. We have an age gap, friends brother sister, alpha male trope going on. Let me say it was pretty good. So we have Renegade aka Ryan who has always had a thing for Whitney. Whitney happens to be Ryans best friends older sister. Whitney knows Ryan but would never make a move. LOL that all changes on a drunken night. Now we will find out some information about Whitney and why she is acting the way she is. I gotta say that she almost decimated Ryan the next day. I mean DANG WTF, like seriously you allow how people judge you in life. I get that she did not have her freedoms from before her divorce but you would think that she grew a back bone to not let what others say about her effect her. Then the unthinkable happens and her course in life changes. Now will she allow Ryan to be a part of it. Well I can say that Ryan sure as heck fights for it? This was a great book to read and I will work my way through the others.
I absolutely loved this one . A great love story . Two great characters with amazing chemistry. What should have been a one night between friends turns into so much more . All she wanted was the life she deserved little did she know she would get it from the one guy she never saw it coming from. I absolutely loved these two getting together and working through everything they face. A great well written enjoyable from beginning to end.
I absolutely LOVED Renegade and I can’t wait for more Moonshine Task Force books – it promises to be a great series!!
This is only the second book by Laramie Briscoe that I’ve read and now I’m gonna make sure to go back and read her previous releases.
Ryan ‘Renegade’ Kepler and Whitney Trumbolt are fantastic together. One hot and heavy nights turns into so much more but are either of them ready for what’s to come?
Whitney has been badly hurt in a previous relationship and is afraid to give her heart to anyone again. She’s also concerned that the 10 years difference between her and Ryan are gonna eventually make him rethink any kind of relationship with her. Can she trust him enough to let him in?
Ryan had a pretty crappy life growing up. He’s Whitney’s younger brother Trevor’s best friends and he spent much of his early years at their house – and unknown to Whit he’s had a thing for her for a long time….. He also worries about the age gap but not in the way Whit thinks… he’s more concerned she won’t take him seriously and that his being younger will hold her back from taking a chance with him.
Both characters are extremely likable. They care about each other, work hard and wish for a happy life. This story was sweet and heart melting, the budding relationship between Whit and Renegade is fab to watch. They have a lot of fun, have a spark between them, are so good for each other and when they get it on they’re smokin hot!!!
Laramie gave us a truly great read, well written, engaging, with little angst, it was heavy on the sweet and sexy. I loved the supporting characters, especially Whitney’s folks who were great and her brother Trevor, who was her biggest champion and a huge part of Ryan’s life. Getting an insight into what the guys on the Moonshine Task Force did. I’m excited to read ‘Tank’ which is the second book in the series and Trevor’s story!
A definite must read in my opinion, Renegade gets 5 huge stars!!
This book was about an older women and a man that was 10 years younger. Great story that touches you. You can’t help but like Renegade.
I so enjoyed the story of the characters. The love they shared, and how they dealt with their internal battles, was engaging to read.
Great series. Loved all the characters.
Love HEA’s!
I loved this book!!! I’ve read the first three in the series so far and definitely plan to read the rest!! Best stories I’ve read in a while.
Renegade is book one in the new Moonshine Task Force series and if Ryan’s story is anything close to what’s to yet to come, this could easily become my new favorite series.
I’ve read some great books this year but Renegade is at the top of that list, it’s been awhile since I read one that grabbed me on every level, pulled me into it’s pages and refused to let me go until the very end.
And this is a big one for me because older woman/younger man is almost always a turn off for me, it’s one of the few subjects that I tend to avoid as it really just isn’t for me. Ryan “Renegade” Kepler changed that for me!
Whitney’s a 35yr old designer, recently out of a pretty rough marriage she’s determined not to give her heart to another man.
Ryan is her baby brothers best friend, has been since childhood.
Her attraction to him is undeniable, even though he’s ten years younger the steady, determined Whitney can’t pass up one night in his arms.
Ryan on the other hand is seeing his teenage dreams come true. The one woman he always wanted but couldn’t have. From the time he was 15 she’s been in his head and a night with her isn’t something he can deny himself, even if she’s the sister of his best friend and daughter of the only real family he’s ever known.
When the pregnancy test pops positive it’s decision time.
Whitney has her plans and Ryan fully intends to change every one of them!
I adore these characters, there are flaws but they strive to make things work. This isn’t instalove with a gentle nudge, this is struggling to make the right decision, working hard to keep things headed in the right direction and communicating. Yep, the characters actually communicate with each other concerning everything important. I know, it’s kinda shocking huh?
I’m head over heels for this book and am dying to see what’s next for the series.

Age is just a number.
For some reason Whitney was allowing her conniving ex-husband to rent space in her head again.
So here she was tipping her drinks back like they were water while sharing her wounded spirit with her brother’s best friend.
She truly hated her ex-husband especially the fact she’d gotten the raw end of the deal he totally ruined her faith in herself and her ability to trust another man.
But with her lower inhibitions she couldn’t seem to stop herself as all her deep fantasies came pouring out.
Ryan or Renegade was known at work listened to his best friend’s sister was having a messy moment in public but when she started talking about all the things she’d always wanted but her ex failed to give her.
While he knew instantly he could and would if she’d only give him half a chance.
He couldn’t help holding his breathe; silently praying she didn’t change her mind because he wasn’t going to let his own fantasies pass him by.
Ryan was going to prove everything her stupid ex-husband say was absolutely wrong because she was a beautiful woman totally worth being treated like a goddess.
Needless to say the morning after wasn’t something she knew how to handle it might also be the fact she felt awkward for the things she’d asked for; and the fact he totally delivered everything she never imagined a man could.
Whitney had always thought that certain issues in their marriage started and ended with her but now she was being told that wasn’t the case at all; which took her by totally by surprised.
Ryan was helping his partner; Tank who’d been injured on the job from someone they never saw as a threat.
Whitney was still reeling from her doctor’s words when she came face to face with the last two people she wanted to see.
Okay so life throw them an unforeseen curve ball Ryan wasn’t about to let Whitney push him away not today and not tomorrow.
But Ryan knew he had an uphill battle trying to convince the one woman he’d always wanted that he was worth the risk.
However somethings can only keep for so long and they both knew it was only a matter of time.
So yeah she was the one to finally come clean to her family however it was her brother who totally lost his mind and even worse his temper.
Slowly but surely she was finally seeing him with new eyes the fact that he never once stopped trying to prove that he was the polar opposite of her dreadful ex.
Whitney nearly comes undone when the unimaginable happens and she’s faced with the possibility of losing someone that she finally sees she’s had everything she’d ever wanted and more.
OMG what an awesome series. Great characters and so much thought has been put into each book it is like you are reading a real true story. Definitely must read
The drug out in several places so I ended up skimming. Storyline was pretty good. Decent read.
Boring!
This novel explores the innermost fears of an older woman and her concerns about calling in love with a younger man. Definetly worth reading.
Liked the story. Will read more by this author.
I loved this book. Have returned to read it again as from time to time I remember a scene and have to get back to it. Well done
Ok read. Wanted more drama with the ex husband, but he was mentioned with no back story. Cant help but fall in love with Ryan, didn’t care for Whitney character. Just ok.
Ryan was such a nice guy…swoon…he was patient and kind and knew what he wanted and the age difference didn’t bother him…such a heart-warming story.
Whitney has been having a rough time lately so she heads to the bar to let off some steam. She ends up spending time with her little brother’s best friend and co-worker, Ryan aka Renegade. Ryan ever the gentleman that he is he takes Whitney home where they end up spending time between the sheets. The next morning Ryan is ready to explore more since he has had a crush on Whitney since forever. Whitney however does not want more for a variety of reasons that are spoilery. But 6 weeks later Whitney finds that Ryan may have left her with more than just memories of their night together.
I enjoyed this story for a quick and enjoyable read but it didn’t really call to me. There were a lot of things that happened to Whitney in the past that made her guarded towards a relationship. Things that were just hinted at, there was no deep dive into those things which I would have liked to see to get a better understanding/feel for her. I just feel like it was all superficial with the backstory with both of them. I wanted more. I enjoyed but wanted more.
