What a SUPER unique take on the genre. Fae, Fae Hunters, an APOCALYPSE. What’s not to love? This was right up my alley in what I call Paranormal Dystopian Romance. Although this book is on the shorter side (more of a novella), the story was wonderful. I just wanted MORE of it! Can’t wait for book 2!
I tore through this over a couple of nights. The world set up here is vicious and intriguing. I was hooked pretty quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Can’t wait for book two! Highly recommended.
I couldn’t get enough of this book so I devoured the whole series!
This was my first CK Dawn’s book. This is the first book in the Reign of Fae Series. Chloe and Brame’s story is action packed, and fast paced. The storyline is original and complex, and the world building is well done. This short story is well developed, and captivating. This is a great start to this Series, and I would love to listen to the next book. Sydnee Fullmer did a great job with the narration. I received this audiobooks at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Wow!!! … Love this book till the last page!!! … Full of action, wonderful characters, badass FMC, great world building, amazing story line, Fae, magic, end of the world, romance … No need to say more, go get it!!!
Fae and Fae Hunters. Fast paced action. Apocalypse. Need I say more???
Great stuff!! Very unique and original <3
If your world went into utter chaos and destruction tomorrow, how would you survive? Would you have the will to survive if you lost all of the people who meant anything to you? In a post-apocalyptic world, it is kill or be killed. In Remnants of Ash, Dawn takes two characters who are unlikely to pair up—and they are forced to save what is left of humanity. This story will pull readers in just enough to give the reader a sense of foreboding and then it’s over.
Chloe Etain is a college student, making her way through the world on her own when the war picks up its pace and obliterates the earth with something called the Scorch. The Fae have really put survival to the test with these vampire-like creatures scouring the earth in search of their next meal. Meeting up with Bram has been the best and possibly the worst thing that could have happened. Bram is mysterious, sexy, but most importantly, he is a hunter and very lethal. As their journey rapidly continues, both individuals must learn the ways of this new world and each other. Can they work together? Can they survive against the impending doom that lurks at their destination?
Dawn has a very short story with the first installment of the Reign of Fae series, called Remnants of Ash. Short stories are totally acceptable for certain genres; however, this specific series seems to have a lot going on which is not conducive to this type of writing. In such a short time frame, the story loses space for a well-written backstory on characters and the plot is virtually thrown together which appears sloppy. In this story, characters appear a bit underdeveloped and scenes typically smoosh together fairly quickly, which may leave readers with confusion or complete loss of interest. Since this review does compliment the audiobook, Fullmer kept up with the quick pace fairly well; however, some wording was slurred together and there were mispronunciations through the story. The story itself has the capacity to be five-star worthy if the author ever decides to lengthen this installment and add more “meat” to the characters and scenes, and categorizes the book correctly. The development process of this story could definitely use another look. If you are a reader of post-apocalyptic, science fiction, magic, fantasy with a small amount of romance, you may enjoy this read. Since this is the first installment within the series, readers are able to jump right in.

This is a fantastic read. It grabbed my attention right away. Chloe and Bram and the other characters are fantastically written. Chloe is a mere Mortal but Brum is Fae. Chloe stumples into a war between the Dark and the light. With Brams help can they stop this. This is a real page turner. It also pulls at the heart strings. Its fast paced and action packed. There is never a dull moment. The scenes are written so well that you can picture them in your minds eye. This series is Epic for sure.

Remnants of Ash is book one of the Reign of Fae series. This is a unique and different take on the beginning to the biblical apocalypse. Seemingly the only hope for humanity is Chloe (a human) and Bram (a fae). The story line draws you in and keeps you turning pages to the end. Would have been great to have a little more background information. We do have action and twist and turns, some you will see coming and other you will not. Looking forward to book two to see where CK Dawn will be taking us. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
