I enjoyed the start to the new series Magnolia Sound by Samantha Chase. Jake and Mallory first met in the Sunkissed Days book and what started out sweet turned summertime hot very quickly. But it was just a summer romance for Jake and Mallory. Until they are brought back together six years later in Remind Me. This is their story of a second chance at love and the trust issues that lie in the way of their happily ever after.
I loved this book! While at times it was a bit hard for me to read – especially because of the feelings it brought to surface from my grandfather’s recent passing, that is what good books do – make you feel something. This is exactly how I wanted Sunkissed Days to wrap up – make sure you read that book first as it lays out the background.
Great job on the start of a new series Samantha Chase !
I received this book as an ARC, in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Remind Me. I was hooked on the new series when I read Sunkissed Days and I couldn’t wait to continue Jake and Mallory’s story in Remind Me. I was not disappointed.
I was sad at the beginning when Mallory’s grandfather passed away as he was one of my favorite characters from Sunkissed Days but his passing is why Mallory needed to return home. Once she was home, she ended up seeing Jake and things picked up from there.
I loved seeing Mallory and Jake’s characters develop more throughout Remind Me and see their romance blossom once again.
If you are a fan of romances, check out this book. You won’t be disappointed!
I’ve been eagerly waiting to read this book and it was well worth the wait. I enjoyed the catch-up at the beginning and then the story begins. This book was great from page one until the end and I definitely wanted more. I felt every emotion reading this book. It was sad but it was also charming and romantic and I enjoyed the banter with everyone especially between the cousins. I thought the story played out exactly as I was hoping and the ending with Mallory and Jake, perfection. I can’t wait to see what happens next with everyone. I’ve definitely fallen in love with this new Magnolia Sounds series by Samantha Chase and I can’t wait for the next book. I wish Magnolia Sounds was a real destination, I’d love to go visit.
After reading the wonderful prequel Sunkissed Days, I could not wait for Remind Me to come out. I just had to know what happened with Mallory and Jake. This book takes place 6 years after the prequel. Mallory has a successful job working with computers in New York. Jake has returned to Magnolia Sound and is once again working with Zeke at Coleman Construction. I absolutely Loved every minute of this story. There were so many wonderful scenes in this book. Some gave me butterflies, while others had me feeling flushed and had my heart pounding, a few were sad and made me tear up, than there were the ones that had me swooning and were melting my heart. I could not get enough of this book, I stayed up late reading, I wanted to know what was going to happen, however the thought of it being over made me kind of sad. In the end though it left me with a full and happy heart! I am looking forward to more from this series, when I can return to Magnolia Sound and the Westbrook family that I have come to love!!
This new series is shaping up to be better than all the rest of Ms Chase’s series. The book starts out with a hurricane and the hurricane’s effects last throughout. Mallory and Jake have a past. One that didn’t end well. This is their chance to mend everything. Or have closure at least. I loved how these characters were written. Mallory is at a point in her life where she must choose between what she loves and what she thinks she loves. Jake is at a point where he must step up and be the person he was always meant to be. Will they be what each other needs in the long term?
In Sunkissed Days we saw a glimpse of how Jake and Mallory’s relationship started. Remind Me picks up where Sunkissed Days left us. Remind Me by Samantha Chase was a sweet, sexy, second chance at love story that will pull on all your emotions.
Remind Me has the perfect combination of characters you’ll absolutely adore with a storyline that will leave you wanting more. I loved everything about Jake and Mallory’s story to their happily ever after, and it’s definitely not an easy road for these two.
I highly recommend this new series. A definite must read that will captivate you.
Wow! Samantha Chase never ceases to amaze me. I love her books. She has a way with her words. The magic that comes from her books are phenomenal. Her words just dance off the page and into my heart and soul. Her books are the very essence of romance. The world’s she creates are exquisite. Every book I read of hers captivates my soul.
In Remind Me we get the continuation of Jake Summerford and Mallory Westbrook’s story. Years after one magical and heartbreaking summer a heartbreaking tragedy brings Mallory back to Magnolia Sound. From the moment Mallory and Jake come face to face there is immense chemistry. Jake lost her once but he is determined not to let her go again.
Jake and Mallory are perfect for each other. I love the second chance romance. I love their undeniable chemistry. Samantha Chase wrote their story perfectly. Jake and Mallory are like two puzzle pieces that fit only together. Without them nothing is complete. I loved the secondary characters and how very supportive they are. My heart broke reading this story and that is a great thing. I always say if you cry, laugh and have heartswooning moments in one book then it is a must read. Zeke had me sobbing. I found myself even laughing and having lots of heartswooning moments. Zeke reminds me of my father. I felt as if I were a part of the story. As if I belonged. Samantha Chase captivated me from page one. The layers of the characters were beyond amazing. Remind Me was bold, expressive and very engrossing. Remind Me was definitely emotionally charged. So much raw emotion wrapped in one book. Samantha Chase holds the reader’s attention from the beginning. Remind Me is exquisitely written. Remind Me left me feeling far better than I felt when I started reading it. Both Mallory and Jake leapt off the page and into my heart. I wasn’t able to put Remind Me down. I have even read it a second time. A phenomenal book written by an equally phenomenal author. I want to live in a place like Magnolia Sound. Samantha Chase weaves a beautiful tale of love lost and love found. Grab your copy and see for yourself. You won’t be able to put Remind Me down.
That Epilogue!
Mallory and Jake were first introduced in Sunkissed Days but now it’s six years later and Mother Nature and Father Time have impacted Magnolia Sound. From page one of Remind Me I was emotionally invested…and more than a little teary eyed. Laying the foundation of their relationship in the prequel novella allowed Samantha Chase to dive right into the emotions and chemistry of Mal and Jake without making it insta love or an unbelievable stretch. And that epilogue is so beyond swoony!
Each new series feels like Samantha Chase is owning her voice and style and I am so here for it and the rest of the Magnolia Sound series…bring on Sam!
Three little words…..that’s all Mallory wanted and needed to hear from Jake.
Nature wreaks havoc in Magnolia Sound when a hurricane makes a direct hit. But the bigger tragedy is the death of Zeke Coleman, great-grandfather of Mallory. Everyone is crushed by his passing; and the drama continues even after his death with the terms of his will.
Through all of the turmoil, Mallory and Jake realize that they have never really stopped loving each other, but their communication problems could mess up everything if they don’t get them under control.
Pops knew what he was doing and it doesn’t take long for the rest of the family to start to figure things out as well.
Such a great beginning to this new series. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the family.
Remind Me is the phenomenal beginning to Samantha Chase’s newest series Magnolia Sound. Although, we did have a sneak peak into this series with Sunkissed Days which released last month, it just whetted my need for more, and Remind me… just wow!!!
Remind me is my favorite kind of romance, emotional. Get your tissues ready, Ladies, and not just one, the whole freaking box, you will need them, from the very beginning, to the very end!!! And, no they were not all sad tears, but happy tears as well. There are certainly laugh out loud moments as well.
The characters are all well developed, and I can already tell who my favorites will be, as well as the ones I will probably really dislike (the entitled b…witch)!
I floved Jake and Mallory’s story, it is a second chance at love romance. We saw the beginning of their romance in Sunkissed Days, and yes, you really should read it first, because it will give you more of insight of why things happened the way they do in this book. This book also shows us that real feeling for another person never die, and will rekindle if given half a chance.
In my most humble opinion, Samantha Chase has most definitely continued her wonderful story writing craft with Remind Me and I cannot wait to read about the rest of the family.
Thank you for reading my review. Go ahead, hit that purchase button at your favorite retailer, you will not be disappointed!!
Remember Me is a great start to the new series by Samantha Chase. (You might want to grab the Prequel “Sunkissed Days” first. It’s not absolutely necessary but “Remember me” will be more clear.) Mallory has loved Jake ever since she was a little girl but she’s no little girl anymore. They have a summer fling that doesn’t end well. Now, years have passed and Mallory has to go back to Magnolia Sound for her great grandfathers funeral. And then, and all the memories and feelings. The story is a second chance romance and how it becomes one. An awesome read looking forward to book 2. Totally worth the read.
Jake and Mallory’s emotional love story continued in Remind Me, book one in Samantha Chase’s Magnolia Sound series. We met Mallory and Jake and their ill-fated romance in the prequel Sunkissed Days. Remind Me is a standalone story and all relevant information is provided.
Mallory is living in New York consumed with work and a recent promotion when she learns her great-grandfather Zeke passes away. Given two weeks to get his affairs in order before returning to New York, the perfect plan until Mallory ends up reconnecting with Zeke’s next-door neighbor, Jake, her first love who broke her heart and set the bar for any other guy entering her life. Jake regretted the way things ended with Mallory but with her return, albeit short, maybe they can put the past hurts behind and start over again, even as friends. However, as the two spend time together both realize they want more than just being friends; a rekindling of the love they once had, now that they are both older and mature. Hopefully, this new love will refocus Mallory on what she truly wants in life and a future for them. Maybe New York isn’t really home for her. Maybe it’s actually Magnolia Sound and Jake.
Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Mallory and Jake the love and future together, that they always wanted. I highly recommend Remind Me to other readers and can’t wait to read more about this family from Magnolia Sound and see what else is in store for us readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
5 Star Review of Remind Me (Magnolia Sound #1) by Samantha Chase
Having read Sunkissed Days, I could not wait to dive in and see what was happening in Magnolia Sound and how Samantha Chase would conclude the story of Mallory Westbrook and Jake Summerford.
Remind Me was the perfect way to conclude their story, although be warned I shed quite a few tears as this story was at times rather emotional. When tragedy strikes and Mallory returns to Magnolia Sound, she knows that she will come face to face with the love of her life, the man who broke her heart.
There were times that my heart just about broke for Mallory and Jake as they tried to work through their grief. It is obvious to all around them that Jake and Mallory have unresolved feelings. The question is will they take the leap and act on them, or will fear ruin their chance at happiness?
There was drama, spice, romance, love and the secondary characters were just as interesting as Jake and Mallory. I cannot wait to read the next book in the Magnolia Sound series.
This was just such an amazing story, I felt blown away. Emotional, poignant heartwarming, as well as sizzling chemistry and heat. Honestly I can’t say enough good things. My emotions ranged from sobbing, tears to bursting with happiness. I couldn’t put this down, and even after finishing reading it, it has stayed in my heart. Jake and Mallory’s second chance romance, was wonderful and I think it might be my favorite. And a Fantastic start to a new series.
It has been six years, since their summer romance ended badly, and they went their separate ways. Their timing hadn’t been right for either of them. So when tragedy and devastation comes to Magnolia Sound, throwing Jake and Mallory together once again, he was going to do everything he could to remind her how well they worked and that she was everything he wanted. But will Mallory give Jake what he wants? Is it everything she wants? You have got to read this to find out! This story is Phenomenal!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
6 years after a heartbreaking breakup, Mallory comes home to Magnolia Sound, after the hurricane and for her great grandfathers funeral.
She sees Jake at there special place, the boat house.
This is where they reconnect. They admit that they both made mistakes in the past.
But, Mallory is only staying for 2 weeks and then back to her job in New York.
Jake wants her to stay and he sets out to woo her.
The big question is, will they try to make the relationship work?
5 Sweet Stars!!
Remind me is the story of Jake and Mallory….if you follow Ms. Chase, you’ll have met them in her newsletter chronicle Sunkissed Days which was actually published as a novella. This book takes place 6 years after the ending of that story… do you have to read it, no, should you read it? Absolutely. It gives you a better insight into their relationship and why this book is so fabulous!!
Mallory has to come back to Magnolia Sound when she loses her beloved Pops and taking comfort in Jake’s arms seems so natural to her. While they ended in a rather dramatic way six years ago, their love is still lurking under the surface. And leave it to Pops to still be meddling even after he’s gone.
And so begins Jake and Mallory finding their way back to the love they thought they’d never have. We also get to meet the other members of the family and some of them are a hoot!! Magnolia Sound is definitely some place I’d love to visit!
This story is enchanting and engaging and romantic. I love Ms. Chase’s writing and her ability to write a story that draws me in and makes me smile. Her books are very light on angst and I can always count on a HEA from her and sometimes it’s just nice to know that!!
It’s been six years since the summer Jake and Mallory fell in love. Six years since they went their separate ways after misunderstandings and hurt feelings. But Mallory is back in Magnolia Sound and, although the ice between them has thawed and all those old feelings are bubbling to the surface, they’re still stuck in the same impossibility because Mallory doesn’t plan to stay and Jake’s life and responsibilities keep him tethered to the small beachside community.
There’s nothing I love more than a second chance, so I was excited to read Jake and Mallory’s story and fall more in love with Magnolia Sound. This story begins with a hurricane, which brings Mallory back to her great-grandfather’s home, where she sees Jake again. There are a lot of changes for Mallory’s family and a lot of damage from the hurricane, and fortunately these things serve to draw Jake and Mallory closer together. I thoroughly enjoyed their sweet, emotional, heartfelt story, and I can’t wait to read more in this series!
*I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
A lesson in learning sparks a love that’s enduring. Sunkissed Days was the start of something special. Remind Me is the continuation of a love story that never had the chance to begin. Mallory and Jake were a childhood crush interrupted. Life got in the way, choices broke their hearts. When life brings then full circle, can young love rebuild adult hearts? Chase mesmerizes the heart and mind with a heartwarming combination of life, love and friendship. Remind Me is a stunning new beginning for an old heartache.
Stop! Make sure you read Sunkissed Days first, you will not be disappointed as it is really the prequel to this one and you will not be disappointed. Jake and Mallory had a hot and heavy fling six years ago and it did not end well. Now Mallory is working in New York and just been promoted when a hurricane is barreling towards Magnolia Sound and her mother calls to tell her Pops will not evacuate. Mallory is panicking and ends up calling Jake and pleading with him to get Zeke to go or stay with him and he ends up staying with him. Good thing since it is Zeke’s last days and he knows and this is why he wouldn’t go. Coming back to Magnolia Sound for the funeral is devastating for Mallory but coming face to face with Jake was somehow healing. They come together and find a peace together but will they be able to make it work this time? Zeke (Pops) was a sly one and had surprises in his will for everyone and some make sense and some will probably make sense in the books to come in the series. We did better acquainted with the rest of the family and there looks to be some crazy times coming in the future! What is good to know is there is a happy ending here and it was so much fun to watch it happen. I cannot wait to go back to Magnolia Sound for more visits in the future!
