I am a sucker for second chance romances and Samantha Chase delivers!
Obviously, from the moment I read the last page of Sunkissed, I was on pins and needles waiting for Remind Me to land on my kindle. NOT because Sunkissed was in any way a cliffhanger ending, but because it was a pause in Mallory and Jake’s story. A pause that lasted six years, but a pause nonetheless!
So six years later, Jake and Mallory are once again reunited. Mallory’s great-grandfather has passed and she return to Magnolia Sound to handle the affairs. In and out she told herself. She wasn’t falling pray to the guy that broke her heart all those years ago, again. Nope. Not gonna happen …………. well, read the book 🙂 lol
This is probably one of the most emotional reads I’ve read by this author. Don’t get me wrong, her stories are sweet and heartwarming all around but this was different. There was power behind the feelings. Power that will tear you up unless you’re dead inside 🙂 (That’s just a thing I say when I read a book that drains me emotionally). This story did just that. It was beautifully written and unfolded incredibly well. The struggles that both Jake and Mallory underwent felt true to life. Which of course added yet another layer on emotion to everything. *sigh* These two were kismet even if they didn’t know it. They were kismet from six years ago and if you read Sunkissed, you would have no doubt of that. They were the best part of each other for each other. emotional people, just beautifully emotional
If you’re new to world of Samantha Chase, this is an excellent place to begin!
love love love Samantha’s books 🙂
*** audio book review ***
This is the book I wanted! I fell in love with Jake & Mallory in Sunkissed Days. I wanted them together so bad but there were misunderstandings. In this book they are brought back together due to a tragedy. Pops has passed away. I knew it was going to happen but I still wasn’t ready for it, just like Jake and Mallory. Pop has a few surprises for the family from his will. It causes Jake and Mallory to have to be around each other. In Sunkissed days it was Mallory trying to prove to Jake she was mature enough for him and that they were a good idea. Now she doesn’t trust him with her heart. He has to convince her he is a different man and ready to commit to her and won’t break her heart. Mallory also has to decide what she really wants out of life. This book gripped my heart and I was totally consumed. I was so team Jake. And I loved that we got some more details on the other characters that set us up for more in the series. Jake and Mallory are for sure my favorite, right now. I really didn’t know what would happen with them. I am not spoiling the end but this is a must read for romance fans everywhere. And if you chose to listen like I did, this narrator will make you feel like the characters are telling you their story in person. Take a trip with me to Magnolia Sound. You’ll want to stay like I do.
What a fantastic start to this amazing new series by Samantha Chase!
I love a reunited love story, and this is one of my top faves. Jake was the perfect hero. A bit bad boy, a bit sweetheart, and completely sexy. He has this internal battle throughout the story, of wanting to make it on his own, and doesn’t realize that some gifts aren’t saying that he can’t make it, but that he can make said gift so much better.
Mallory is perfect for Jake. She brings out his romantic side, and brings out all the sexiness. She’s fighting her own internal battles, and can’t decide whether to follow her heart. These two will definitely have you falling in love.
The secondary characters are more than entertaining, and I can’t wait to see whose story we might get next (Mason or Sam would be the top of my list, but I’m not gonna be picky)
A phenomenal must read that I would highly recommend!
Remind Me is book one in the Magnolia Sound series. Jake and Mallory’s story is one of those you just don’t forget. The emotions ooze off the page. This is one not to be missed!
Remind Me is such a great second chance for Mallory and Jake, and I love a good second chance romance. We met Jake and Mallory in Sunkissed Days and while you don’t have to read that first, it is a great way to start getting to know them. I can’t wait to see what’s next in Magnolia Sound!
Sun Kissed Days left us wanting more of Mallory and Jake. In Remind me we pick up six years later with a hurricane that will bring Mallory and Jake back together again. Their story is one that started as a summer fling but may have been more except they both wanted different things in life at the time. Now six years later Mallory has just gotten a promotion in a job she thinks is right for her because she went to school for it.
This story will have you shedding a few tears as you find out what happens to Pops and how the family takes it. It is also gets a little more into the family dynamics and the characters that we may meet in future books in this series.
Once again Samantha Chase has started a new series that leaves the reader anxiously awaiting the next book.
Remind Me: I love second chance stories and this one was awesome. The chemistry between Mallory and Jake was amazing. You really feel for Mallory and the pain and heartbreak that she endures when her great grandfather passes. Jake battle with his feelings for Mallory and doing what he thinks Zeke would have wanted. I felt like you really got to know all the characters in the book and how they play an important part in Jake and Malorie’s life. Great story of family and love. Looking forward to next book in this series
I love second chance romances and Samantha Chase does not disappoint with Remind Me. I couldn’t put down this book. One more page, one more chapter, turned into a VERY late night, or early morning depending on how you look at it! Samantha Chase tugged on so many emotions and hit all the highs and lows I look for in a romance novel. I laughed, cried, and fell in love with Jake and Mallory. Their chemistry jumped off the pages. There was no denying their connection was still there and just as strong.
I’m excited for this new series and look forward to returning to Magnolia Sound many times!
Mallory is back in Magnolia sound for her great grandfathers funeral and to get his affairs in order, and she knows this time around ignoring Jake is not going to be easy.
Jake has not gotten over Mallory and always regretted the way things ended between him and Mallory 6 years ago. Now that she’s back in town, he hopes for a second chance with her.
Remind me is a beautiful read. It is a heartbreaking and at the same time a heartwarming story. The grief at losing Zeke was so palpable, it made me teary eyed. And at the same time the romance between Jake and Mallory got a smile to my face. Can’t wait to read more in the series.
I love second chance romances especially for Jake and Mallory when theirs ended the way it did.
They get a second change in Remind Me when Mallory is brought back to Magnolia Sound due to family heartbreak.
It is amazing just how well her grandfather knew each member of his family, extended family. There were parts in this book that I had tears running down my face.
Family dynamics can be so much fun and Samantha did a great job writing the trickiness of them.
Jake is taking this opportunity to prove to Mallory that they are meant to be even if they have to have a long distance relationship. Now Mallory has to decide if she has room if her life for both a career and a relationship.
I love Samantha Chase’s books! In Remind Me, Mallory and Jake have not seen each other in 6 years. Not since he broke her heart. Now that she has returned to town because of her great grandfather’s death, and they find themselves face to face, will old wounds heal and the love that still remains have a chance to blossom again? I loved reading their story!
It is so good and I want more! More Jake and Mallory, more of Magnolia Sounds, more Sam, more mom, more Mason (yes I am loving the grown up Mason!!) and more more more!
I enjoyed the prequel so I knew I would like their story of a second chance, but I didn’t just enjoy it, no I I loved their story. Parts of the story had me in tears and in a rollercoaster of questions and emotions, but man did I have a huge smile as well. SC has created another world and family that is dynamic and left me wishing/wanting to know them and visit.
Thank you Samantha Chase for the chance to read this book and share my opinions!
Remind me (Magnolia Sound book 1) by Samantha Chase
WOWZA!! What a marvelous story!! I loved it so much!! Very well written! Love the characters and their awesome chemistry! Just completely amazing!
“Promise me we’ll do better. Remind me every day if I’m messing up.”
“I never knew I could feel like this–that I could love this much.”
This a very good start to a new series! Wonderful story! I highly recommend!
Samantha Chase is a sweetheart writer. Her characters are emotional and family oriented and they have a sweet spice in them that makes the story engaging and fun.
Last summer Ms. Chase sent to her subscribers a serial that became the novella Sunkissed Days a prequel of this story. Mallory and Jake met while kids and kind of grow together, they dated when she was in college but it ended badly. Now, years later they reconnect, not in the best moment for them but somehow they make it work despite all odds.
Mallory has grown and Jake has to face this new woman, strong, business like and stubborn. He too has changed and matured and it is good to the story show that.
The book is a great reading and is the start of a new series in the city of Magnolia Sound.
Fast forward six years from a magical summer in Sun Kissed Days and Mallory has returned to Magnolia Sound for the burial of her beloved great grandfather. Of course she runs into her fling from the summer, Jake. They soon reconnect and their love for each other has only grown through the years.
This story is full of emotions, yes I did shed a tear or two, but I also was swooning over Jake many times with a smile on my face. Great sexual chemistry between Mallory and Jake. I am loving this family and can’t wait to read more. I highly recommend.
Remind Me continues Jake and Mallory’s story the couple we were introduced to in Sunkissed Days. Now we get the progression of their relationship from that summer to now. Their chemistry is just as electric as ever and they still are the other halves of each other’s whole. The raw and complex emotions of this book are truly what makes Ms. Chase’s books so INCREDIBLE!!! She honestly captures the complexity and vulnerability that is part of being in a relationship so you get invested in the characters as you go on their journey with them and nobody does this better than Ms.Chase!! Every book and series just keeps getting better and just when I think she can’t possibly outdo herself she gives us Remind Me which is a DEFINITE MUST READ!!! I CAN’T wait to read the next book in the series and see where she takes us.I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
After reading the intro novella to this series, Sunkissed Days, I was left wanting more. Chase doesn’t disappoint in Remind Me. I loved getting to see the story ofJake a and Mallory pick back up after six years. It is especially helpful to read the novella first to get the background where their love began, but not a necessity to read this story. Another five stars for Samantha Chase!
This is an incredible new series by Samantha Chase entitled Magnolia Sound. It is set in a small North Carolina coastal town and this is the very first introduction to several characters I’m sure we will see with their own stories.
This is the story of Mallory and Jake. Mallory has been in love with Jake for years, from the time she was a young girl spending the summers with her Pops in Magnolia Sound. Jake was the older boy next door who always saw her as his friends little sister. The summer of awakening was told in Sunkissed Days. So if you want to read the back story, it is awesome. But you can start with Remind Me and be caught up.
Samantha Chase has always given us not just stories but lives. She writes families and towns and relationships, not just for today but from the past and into the future. She makes sure to let us know how normal the characters are, all of the problems they come across but always lets us see their HEA.
Get started at the beginning and enjoy this new world she is opening for us…
