Spectacular! An incredible new series by Shayne Ford. Remi and Esme are fantastic characters! I cannot wait to read more! I read an arc copy of this book
SASSINESS & Allergic to knits!
Exciting bursts of laughter…..
I’m not quite sure if this is supposed to be a comedic read but at least a dozen or more outbursts of laughter erupts from the comedic sarcasm play of enticing chemistry between Esme and Remi as they banter back and forth with (Esme cat claw sassiness) verses (Remi a dominating Lion) and what a battle of words spinning together binding this irresistible wicked intense read together making it impossible to put down. I’m anxious to read more and how all this chaotic foreplay of sarcastic humour will flip into the sexy thrills with heat radiating from the pages. Without a doubt Shayne always ceases to amaze me. Her writing is fresh, unique, realistic and flows without missing a beat. An exciting must read that I highly recommend and as I already stated I’m extremely anxious to read more.
Esme is a young art student working part-time in an art gallery, dress not to impress and has no filter between brain and mouth, but she has a good heart. One beautiful morning her best friend is in a bind so Esme rushes to her aid, but in the process encounters a horrible obnoxious man that insults her clothing and pushes all her wrong buttons. And the worst of all, this man, Remi Arlington with his cat and mouse games, are here to stay. I love Esme and was feeling all her anger and hurt. What a great start to a series! I was hooked from the first page and could not stop till the end. Story ended in a cliff-hanger, so looking forward to part two.
Amazing start to new series! Remi is a billionaire who thinks he’s entitled to whatever or whomever he wants. Then he meets Esme by accident or maybe by fate either way she is a challenge to Remi’s dark side. This cliffhanger left me yearning for more!
This first book of a new series will have you wanting more. Remi’s character is one you will love to hate, he’s hot, demanding and knows what he wants. It was fun to read how Esme’s character deals with his character and I can’t wait to read more. This is a definite story that you need to start today!
Great start to an exciting new series (Night of Diamonds). So many emotions floating around my head as I was reading this book; felt like I needed to hold onto my seat. These two main characters Esme and Remi have such strong chemistry between them (I am really looking forward to seeing how their relationship plays out in the next installment). I am a sucker for an enemies to lovers romance and this one had me from the first page, author does a tremendous job of creating a story that hooks you from the start with an easy flow and quick wit.
The game of cat and mouse that Remi is playing with Esme is interesting and intriguing. Remi is a wonderful mystery that I can’t wait to unwrap during this series. It is funny because I sucked down this story in just a couple of hours, yet my mind is spinning with a ton of questions that I know will eventually be answered, yet I am not sure what else to say. Remi seems like a real jerk but that is hardly the whole story there and Esme is young and naive. It is obvious that Remi is trying to figure out the woman she will become, trying to guide her some even but she is fighting every thing that comes at her. All I really know at this point is that my appetite for more it ravenous.
I really enjoyed this first book in Remi and Esme’s slow simmering, enemies to lovers romance. This book introduces you to the characters, helps you get a clear idea of who they are, covers their initial meeting and showcases the many sparks that fly between them during each and every interaction they have from that first meeting onwards. I thought both characters were appealing , but also know that there are many, many layers left to uncover about them in future books. I thought Esme was quirky, sassy and naïve. She also fluctuated between being sweet and a bit crazy. She had no filter, which was funny but her judgement and lack of control over her actions was certainly not her best feature. Remi was cold, exacting and entitled. He was very much a jerk but there was no denying the appeal that he has. Like a beautiful jungle cat that can turn deadly in the blink of an eye, you are attracted and yet if you are smart you are wary. This book snags your interest and leaves you eager to learn more about these two and to see how things will evolve from here. I do think that things will get pretty steamy, twisty and intense. However, that is just what I think. We shall all have to wait for the next book in the series to find out.
Great start it new series, Remi and Esme have brilliant banter between them plus they have smoking HOT chemistry, A must read, I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. Shayne you did it again.
Warning cliffhanger
In Shayne Ford style, we meet Esme Rawling. Twenty-one years old, transplant to New York, full-time Art student, part-time Manager of an Art Gallery, and a personality like a firecracker without a filter. And then there’s Remi Arlington. Twenty-seven years old billionaire, built like an Atlantean god, with a personality and demeanor so cold, calculating and demanding it could crack ice. When these two meet it begins a chain of events that quickly escalates into a dance of mystery and intrigue. Seemingly two polar opposites; one like a disgusted, resentful moth to a flame, the other a master puppeteer of a mental game of chess. I love how the intensity of this story just kept building. Small pieces of information that could be nothing stand out, making me wonder at their importance. The chemistry is building but what kind and where it leads kept me turning pages until it ended. And now I breathe, knowing I’ll have to wait for the next book because this one just sunk it’s teeth in and won’t let go. You definitely have another winner on your hands Ms. Ford with this 5* rating!
Wow, fabulous characters!
I loved the beginning of this series, it’s excellent. The characters are really fabulous, completely unpredictable in their reactions: I spent my time hoping for some reactions that did not arrive or whose conclusion was unexpected. It’s impossible to let go of the book once started!
This episode is clearly setting up something more complex for the future books of the series.
Esme brings her computer to her best friend because she had forgotten it at home, but she goes on the wrong floor of the building and meets a man, Remy, unpleasant, arrogant, and she insults him. The problem is that this is the boss of her friend. They meet by chance at the art gallery in which she works and he manages to handle her, to avoid her, even to endanger her part-time job and her studies.
Yet from this regular confrontation, an attraction seems to appear, but rather unhealthy, twisted, and not very clear. Esme is a woman with a strong impulsivity, without filter, rather beautiful even if she does not know it, and with a rather romantic heart, while Remy is cold, ironic, manipulative, arrogant, dark, attractive and he does not hesitate to use his power against others, especially women. Now, Esme is clearly a challenge for him, so much that he tries to annoy her, pushing her to the end to attract her until she looses control more either verbally or physically.
I can not wait for the next book of the series !
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This dark and delicious book is already climbing under my skin I can tell by the time the last book is finished I’ll be strung out on this author words and wicked thoughts. This 1st book is like a appetizer and will leave you starving for more. Remi is a snobbish billionaire who thinks he’s entitled to whatever or whomever he wants then he meets Esme by accident or maybe by fate either way she is a challenge to Remi’s dark side. This cliffhanger left me yearning for more of Shayne’s world of creation.
Remi (The Night of the Diamond Series) is a dark erotic romance series that follows the seduction and grooming of 21 year old Esme Rawling from a frumpy college student into a beautiful, seductive and highly sensual submissive by the dark and mysterious 27 year old dominant billionaire Remi Arlington.
Shayne Ford you have absolutely done it again! This book is so beautifully written and highly addictive. Can’t wait to read the next book!
This is the first book in a new series and so far I am enjoying it, I can’t wait to see what happens between Remi and Esme.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
Remi
By Shayne Ford
Main Characters: Remi and Esme
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
Love Esme’s character. She gives as good as she gets. Fiery personality. Remi on the3 other hand came off as cold, entitled or in other words a real jerk. However, who knows why he is like that. We shall find out more in the upcoming books. This book was a little on the short side and of course, you know it ends in a cliffhanger. Cannot wait to see how Shayne progresses their enemies to lovers story. Great start to a new series. Highly recommend!
