Eighteen. That’s how many Valentine’s Days I’ve spent alone. For nearly two decades, I’ve filled my days raising my children in my dream home, in my dream town, as I worked my dream job. I was only missing one thing: my dream man. Because eighteen years ago, the love of my life — Jim Tripp, my husband and the father of my children, died suddenly. Dating again? It never sounded appealing. In all … appealing. In all this time, I never had a date proposal that made me want to accept. Until now…
There’s only one problem: For my first date in decades, the extremely sexy Dr. Chris Foster is taking me to Jolie’s French Restaurant. The very place my late husband and I had our first date. A first date that led to one of the most passion-filled nights of my life.
I always thought you only get one great love in your life. Is it possible I’d be lucky enough to get two?

Holy wow! I was not expecting to have tears streaming down my face for most of the book. The hesitancy of how to move on was absolutely breathtaking. Remembering You was part of Katana’s Maple Grove series and I think this was my favorite story
Marty spent many years making sure her family had everything they ever needed. She kept herself going by taking care of them. After 18 years of being alone, would Marty find love again? Was she ready to let someone else into her heart?
Chris wanted to get to know Marty better but when the universe starts working against them, would he get his chance? Could these two be lucky enough to find something in each other?
Gah!! I just can’t express how much this affected me. This was so sweet and a perfect tribute to Marty’s first love!
Remembering You by Katana Collins is another Maple Grove series book. It can be read as a stand alone and out of sequential order.
This book featured Marty, the mom of some of the characters in previous novels.
I loved this book because of the dual time perspective. We got to know the story of how she and her late husband met and the changes she was faced with dealing with now. It was beautiful and a great book to enjoy right before Valentine’s Day.

Marty Tripp has been alone for 18 years since her husband passed away and she’s ready to spend another Valentine’s Day alone. That is until Dr. Chris Foster overhears her conversation with her best friend about vibrators…he has been attracted to her since he came to work at the hospital. He asked her out but she’s not sure…it’s been along time since she dated.
Such a well written story with a look into the past of a loving soulmate relationship to the possibility of finding a second soulmate relationship to take into the future. Reminding us that we don’t always know what is in store for our future.
Marty had lost her husband almost twenty years ago. She was a nurse and had raised five children and had grandchildren. A new doctor at the hospital was getting attention from the women but he asked her out Marty was lost in remembering her past with her husband as she started a new relationship with Chris. Great read.

A story that’s well written, family oriented and will have you smiling one minute and crying the next. This story tells the story of Marty and her life before she lost her husband 18 years ago and her life now. Even though this is part of a series, each book can be read as a stand alone book. This story flows smoothly and does a great job pulling the reader in and holding their attention til the end.

I came upon Katana Collins when I read Callback, absolutely could not put that book down, and ever since then, every book I have been able to get my hands on that she writes is magical. Remembering You is about a surgical nurse, Marty, who reflects back on hers and her late husband Jim’s life as she embarks on the next stage of her life after being single for 18 years. Chris is a pediatric surgeon who works at the same hospital as Marty and has taken an interest in the mother of five. I found this book very well written, loved the way Marty looked back on her life with Jim as events were taking off with Chris. Really enjoyed the close relationship Marty has with her kids and their spouses. There’s laughter and tears in this emotional book, loved every page of it.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This story tells how Marty was like before she had children and about her current life. It would detail things years ago and switch back to current but it was easy to follow along. This is a good series I’m glad I got pulled into even with them being all standalone reads.
A well written family oriented story that had me smiling, but also crying as I read. Marty Tripp lost her husband Jim eighteen years ago but now a new man Dr. Chris Foster has come into her life. This story goes through Marty’s life as she tells how Jim and her got together to after her and Chris come together. It also tells parts of her children’s life as they make their own families. This series should be read in order, that way you have a better understanding of this families live. I have missed some books and I now want to go back to the Prequel and read them in order. A very good story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story about Marty who has lost her husband years ago and is not sure she is ready move on and Chris who works at the hospital together. He has been interested in Marty but she never seemed to be ready to go out.

This Valentine’s Day will have cupid shooting his arrow at Marty and Chris. Both are single and dealing with grief. For Chris it is the betray of his wife and brother and a mistake in judgement because of his grief. For Marty it is the death of her husband who she still mourns. When Chris came to town and saw Marty, his heart skipped a beat and he knew she was someone he wanted to know. Marty was a bit skeptical basically because of the rumors circulating about him. Can they put their past behind and move forward together towards a happily eve after? This touching story will have you cheering for this couple to make it to the finish line!

Loved Chris & Marty’s story! I really enjoyed how well this story was written. It was heartwarming and heartfelt! Good Read!
I really enjoyed this story about Marty Tripp, both past and present. It was interesting to learn more about Jim and how they met and their relationship. I loved the scene at the diner, before Marty’s relationship with Chris begins, and her description of her “relationship” with Richard. This was a feel good story about first loves and last loves. She was a lucky woman to have had two wonderful men in her life.
This is such a wonderful and heartwarming romance. I love how different it is from so many of the books out there. It isn’t very often that we get to hear the story of a woman in her 50’s who has already raised her children and now has grandchildren; who is lucky enough to find real honest true love a second time around after the devastating loss of who she thought was her first and only. Even though it has been 18 years, we watch as Marty relives so many special memories of when she was with Jim all while she is trying to open her heart to new possibilities with Chris. I love how they accept each other and how their families embrace this new love between them. Such a great story! Kudos to Katana Collins for this well written reminder that love and romance isn’t just for the young.
The story opens with Marty and her best friend having a frank discussion about vibrators that is overheard by Chris Foster, who is a physician in the Maple Grove hospital where Mary works.
He’s been interested in Mary since he met her, but hasn’t made any moves, but after the overheard discussion, the ice is broken and he asks her out. And for the first time in 18 years, she’s tempted to say yes, but has to reconcile herself with the reactions that her children may have if she starts to date.
The story is fascinating in that there are two parallel story lines separated by decades. In one storyline, Marty is meeting her husband and the father of her children for the first time, and the reader gets to watch that relationship progress. The other storyline involves the progression of her relationship with Dr. Foster, 18 years after her beloved husband dies. Her children are all grown now, and many of them are in stable relationships, and she’s finally ready for something new.
Chris is a strong character, and he doesn’t appear to be threatened by the love that Marty had for her deceased husband. Chris is divorced, and he made a mistake on the job, that nearly cost him his job, and that is why he is now working at the same hospital as Marty.
These two protagonists finally figure it out. And it really is nice to see an older couple romance. For readers who have seen their 20’s, 30’s, and even 40’s in the rearview mirror, reading about an older couple is more relatable. Marty Tripp is an amazing woman and Chris Foster is equally amazing as a father and significant other.
