Dan Walsh’s books are always interesting, informative, full of surprises, and provide a glimpse into different characters lives and motives. A must-read for anyone interested in WWII and its implications on others.
Loved this book. Interesting characters. The twists & turns of the plot kept you guessing. A very good read!
I like the combination of drama and historical fiction with an unpredictable ending. This book fit those pieces I enjoy.
Enjoyed this book very much. Great plot and the writer kept you engaged.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and I found the story interesting. I liked the back story of the bombing of Dresden. It helped to make the present-day part of the book believable and it was very interesting (but horrifying) in itself.
A+!!!
I was born after the war, so there is a lot I do not know, and sadly, the story of Dresden is one I did not know about. The book was like a WW 2 history lesson along with a great storyline and interesting characters. Great reading.
Always enjoy his books. Never disappointed.
A story few people know about. A history page- turner ! I hated for
Remembering Dresden to end.
Interesting storyline. Enjoyed it!
This book was certainly a page turner! It surprised me with its characters and kept my mind involved. Great story
I lived in Berlin, Germany for over a year and visited Dresden several times and knew some of the history of WWII and the horrible fire bombings. We have German friends that live near Dresden and we learned from them. So, I was interested in reading this book. I didn’t like the vindictive nature of the survivor and his plot although I could understand his motivation. I like fiction books that are well researched and teach you some history along with the plot.
Good historical fiction.
Walsh brings history to life while describing the bombing of Dresden by US forces during WWII. A jewel of a city near the German border with Poland, Dresden had escaped bombings by allied forces. The city was unimportant to the wartime production and had no major industrial significance. There were troops to protect it and no way to stop the wave upon wave of bombings that destroyed the city, killing thousands of civilians in February 1945.
War changes people forever and in this case it created a serial killer who exacted his revenge long after the war ended and in such a way as to make the deaths seem accidental. I finished this book in about 4 days, which is unusual for me. But, I could not put it down.
Great book!
I very much enjoyed REMEMBERING DRESDEN – I think I chose to read it because I have a lot of German heritage, and having lived there for a couple of years (not in Dresden though). I seldom get the chance to read, but I hope that someday I will have more time to do so!
Love all of Dan Walsh’s books!
5 stars…I thought it was very educational as well as a great story line. Love WW2 books.
His books are just so interesting and believable. Great story with light mystery a little romance can’t wait to learn more.
This book is captivating! There is enough history and enough fiction to make a very enjoyable read!
