I happen to love historical fiction, so I was fascinated about the Dresden focus. I had never heard of what happened there and found myself researching the information. The author’s descriptions came alive.
I really like the author’s style and reading a part of history I knew little about.
I had never heard of Dresden, Germany until this book. I was shocked and sad to learn the truth about this this city.
Great story, full of mystery.
predictable
Awful story of what happened in Dresden in WW2, then the book leads on to modern times. Well thought out and well written, held my interest all the way through. Exciting story and I liked the way everything was woven together. from the dreadful beginning to the dramatic conclusion.
I had to put it down from time to time as it was so real and the danger was imminent. What a great book about a tragic destruction of a town and its effects on the children.
learned some history along with a good story
Great book. Very interesting. Very true to life.
I missed the connection from the present day to Dresden but caught on later. this was a very good read.
I couldn’t put it down! I loved this book as my Son lives in Germany and has been to Dresden may times. He knows the history of the town and loves going there. The book tells a lot about the history of the town and makes the book very believable.
Great read. Horrifying story but of interest because my Godmother was from Dresden but got to US before WWII.
Very interesting and I enjoyed the history included with action and romance. Good combination of all
A good weekend read or vacation read. If you are a history buff, this book will keep you enguaged and encourage you to find out more about the setting in Germany.
Excellent
The beginning of the book was an amazing description of the bombing of Dresden.I ened up reading about the bombing online as I had never heard of it. The book was well written and it was a good read.
Really enjoyed this book.
This was my first Dan Walsh book and have since read many. His suspense stories are riveting and I love the characters. If you like military history you’ll love Dan. And I love the book within a book thing, especially in “The Discovery”. If you are the emotional type like me, have tissues nearby. Currently reading Rescuing Finley, about service dogs who aid PTSD vets. Great stuff. As a vet, anything about them brings tears to my eyes.
I liked this book a lot.
Good book. It was exciting and kept my attention.
